Fun fact: Northern water snakes can live in lots of different water types, but they seem to prefer slow moving or standing water, like what you can find in small ponds and lakes!

Fun fact: Sea snakes have a built in BCD. (Buoyancy control device) - Their lungs, which extends almost the full length of their bodies, not only provide oxygen to the snake when they are submerged, it also assist in acting as a buoyancy control. The snake will inhale air and then use their tails to descend until the point of which they are neutrally buoyant.

Fun fact: Sea snake venom is more potent than many land snakes. It can contain neurotoxins and mycotoxins that can paralyze, destroy muscle cells, and kill. On the downside, though, sea snake fangs are fragile and can often break during a bite.

Fun fact: Although sea snake's venom is the most potent of all snakes, human fatalities are rare because sea snakes are not aggressive, their venom output is small, and their fangs are very short.

Fun fact: Despite only being made from the venom of two species of Sea Snake (the beaked sea snake, Enhydrina schistosa and the Australian tiger snake, Notechis scutatus), Australian sea snake antivenom actually covers all species of sea snakes worldwide!
