Fact: The black-headed python is a primarily nocturnal snake and spends the day in old logs, rocky ledges and termite mounts before coming out to hunt for prey at night which they dispatch by constricting.

Fact: The leaf-scaled sea snake is a snake native to the shores of Australia that was once thought to have gone extinct due to increasing ocean water temperatures as well as the destruction of its coral reef habitats. However, this species was spotted once more in 2015 in Shark Bay, Western Australia!

Fact:
Endemic to Western Australia’s Pilbara region, the Anthill python (Antaresia perthensis) is the smallest python species in the world.
The amethystine python (aka the scrub python) is by far the longest snake in Australia, it grows up to 6m. They inhabit the rainforest regions of far north Queensland.
Ok, both taken so have some Personal Fun fact
Despite Meeting already several people who had met the Eastern Brown Snake very close in only 5 months living in Australia, I have yet to meet one who got bitten.
on the fliphand, I only met 2 people and myself who encountered a dangerous but not deadly spider but 1 got bitten and has lasting damage since 1yr.
Fact two: When I told people that I'd go to Australia most worried more about Spiders than Snakes Bites.
Fact three: From my short knowledge working as Fundraiser for the Royal Flying Doctor Services: The RFDS responds to up to 80 bites incidences per week! Luckily, most are harmless or the anti-venom can be quickly admistered!

Fact: The mulga snake and the perentie - a large monitor lizard - who are immune to most Australian snake venom, are the only two natural threats to the infamous and very toxic inland taipan.
