"Why do you think there is a portal that leads here anyway?" Raspberry asked. The tunnel they walked through transported them from the deciduous forest to the jungle. It should have taken a long journey to get there on foot, but the portal transported them there like it was nothing.
"It is a bit random," Blackberry responded.
"And why is this big cave here? Was it always empty? Did cats live here once?"
Honestly... Sunflower had just considered it luck and fate. She had not thought too deeply about the cave's history when she'd chosen to make it their home. She had been drawn to it in a way she could not explain. Moonbeam would probably say it was the influence of the stars, but she had never talked to her about it out loud. "I did not smell any other animals when I got here," Sunflower meowed.
"Monkeys. I bet they lived here," Sandy imputed. "Who knows what they're capable of."
Magmatuft scoffed. Sandchill had a thing about monkeys.
"I guess you would not know... Starclan did say they could not reach you..." Moonbeam was muttered, mostly to herself.
Ginger looked at Moonbeam. "What was that?"
"There used to be a clan here, before the humans took over. They took the cats to their nests-"
"They took them all?"
Another cat might have been horrified that the humans had adopted out the cats and separated the clan, but not Moonbeam. Humans had taken care of her. "Yes. They used this as their hang out spot. But a human got injured going down the cliff. A different smaller one got injured sliding down Little Falls. Word spread that this place was unsafe, so the humans stopped coming."
"What about the portal?"
"That was Starclan's work."
"Why though?" Blackberry wondered.
Moonbeam looked off like she was thinking.
"Maybe we were all meant to find each other," Oceanbreeze meowed. "Maybe it was a way to connect us!"
"I like that," Sunflower said.

Skunktail grew up in Meadowclan. His family had a healthy dynamic. His mentor was more strict than he wished her to be, butting against his silly personality. While his siblings got their warrior ceremonies, she held him back by claiming that he was not mature enough. To be fair, he did not take his duties all that seriously and he was not the best hunter. Eventually, the leader changed his mentor and he was able to get his warrior name. He headed off into the world to explore. He found a small colony to spend his time. They were fed by humans. When they discovered Skunktail hanging around, he was neutered and released. Afterward, he kept getting caught in the traps meant for other cats because he loved food. The humans realized that he was rather friendly. He was taken in by a family who already had a female cat around his age. They were only meaning to foster him but they fell in love with him. His humans call him "Stink," "Stinky," or "Stinky man/cat" because of his black and white coloring.

The dream started out like a typical one. Magmatuft was running through the jungle. It was peaceful but exhilarating. He slowed down when he spotted a mouse. Magmatuft crept toward the unsuspecting prey, but something else caught his attention causing him to pause. There was blood spattered on the leaves. The mouse turned its head, hearing something that he did not pick up. It disappeared into the brush. Magmatuft’s eyes found a trail of crimson droplets. He followed them. Magmatuft jumped onto a fallen tree in his path and then froze at the sight before him. In the clearing, Sunflower lay still on the ground, covered in claw marks and blood. No! Who would do this?
The shadows shifted. A black and red cat emerged. Eyes glimmering. Blood flecking her unsheathed claws and mouth. “Hello, brother. Miss me?”
“L-Lavahiss.”
She grinned.
“Magmatuft!”
Magmatuft’s eyes fluttered open. His leader’s concerned gaze met his. Sunflower was okay. His sister was no where near here. He took deep breaths to calm down.
“Are you okay?”
“You’re in the habit of causing us concern, you know,” Ginger meowed.
“Just a nightmare,” He muttered, looking a little embarrassed. It was a silly dream. What reason would Lavahiss have for crossing the jungle to hurt him? She had probably thrown a party when she realized he was gone.
