WME Name: Shamshir (A Persian sword with a curved blade that I feel nicely mirrors this fella's markings!)

Fun Fact: The Ulfberht Swords – A group of about 170 Medieval Viking swords inscribed with the name "Ulfberht". The metal it was forged with was seen as advanced for the time, and historians aren't sure how Vikings came across the metals required or the forging methods used to make these swords. It is also unknown if the name refers to a forger or an owner. Overall a lot of mystery surrounds these ancient blades!

WME Name: Urumi
Fun Fact: Honestly I was going through cool swords, and the Urumi stood out to me because it's a beast of a weapon. It's made with f l e x i b l e steel, often with multiple blades to a hilt, especially the sri lanken subtype. It's an Indian weapon that can be dual wielded if it wasn't already cool enough, and it's used like a flail except it takes less strength due to the centrifugal force used when wielding it.

Fun Fact: Kenbai is a type of sword dance done by Buddhist priests and has been recorded in tradition as far back as the Taiho Era (701-704 CE). There are a few different variations of Kenbai but all usually have their own regalia and story/motive. And is a very fascinating set of sword dances. Onikembai (the name chosen) Is a particular subset of the sword dance where the dancers don Oni (oger/demon masks) while the masks themselves look quite imposing and are supposedly supposed to represent incarnations of Buddha. Its over all a very long standing tradition attached to a very impressive and flashy sword dance.

WME Name: Hjǫrr, old Norse word for "sword"
Fun Fact: Japanese metal smithing is famous for its incredibly durable swords, which were created through an incredibly slow process of folding steel to eliminate any voids and impurities in the metal and reach incredible levels of perfection of the metal. The resulting metal bricks of several folded layers were then forged together to reach up to 65,000 layers in the sword! It took japanese masters over six months to create a sword.
