A Plate Dragon is a subspecies of dragon! They have "Plates" on the side of their cheeks and on their butts! They also have scales around their bodies such as on their faces, legs, and tail! Another unique feature are the "spikes" on the end of their tails and horns that can range in many different shapes and sizes that are used for protection and battle. They usually live in jungles or forests but can be found anywhere. They are extremely venomous, and can projectile their venom when in danger! They use this tactic when feeling threatened or scared so as long as you have good intentions they wont hurt you! They are feisty but you'll be lucky to have one as your friend if it gives you its trust!

prompt: To answer this question you need a bit of backstory about Nishi. Nishi is... in lesser terms old. A forgotten relic of a long past era, a knight to a king whom has long since lost his throne, a soldier to dragons whom have long since fled to other lands.

Noone tells you about the harshness of water, how despite the colorful and abundance of life...the ocean can be very lonely. Finding himself alone once again, a small plateling dug his webbed paws into the sand, watching as a school of glittering, silver fish darted pass. "whatcha doing all alone?" The voice made him jump, Nishi's eyes turning to land on...a plateling. He hadn't seen this view...in nearly a hundred years. A memory he had locked away far in the recesses of his mind. Now coming forward in his loneliest moment. Two small nubs protruded from its head, one on either side, their yellow eyes holding a mischievous curiosity as the white and orange dragon examined him. "Nothing...who are you?" "Oh me...Im Shoig..." "Im Nishi...why are you out here?" "Nu-uh I asked first" A small growl escaped his lips as he shook his head reverently, "no no." He turned away from the memory stumbling forward with his eyes closed. Opening them to face a once vibrant coral pale and dead, a shell of what it used to be, as another thought invaded his mind.

Laughter surrounded the scoundrels, as they hunkered down in between the swaying of seaweed and a particularly colorful outcropping of living coral. Their stolen goods tucked between the two. "A-a-an did you see the look on the Captain's face?" Shoig laughed out kicking his paws a bit as he rolled around in the sand. "I-I'm pretty sure that that one vein in his head was gonna pop! Oh boy that would have been a crazy sight!" "Y-Yeah and the Vice he tripped over that crate and ended in the barrel!" that sent the two into another laughing fit. Eventually the laughter died down, leaving a small nagging feeling with in Nishi. Normally he wouldn't chase after it, but... he had this feeling for a while, turning towards his friend he gave a small smile and a laugh as he finally began to compose himself. "y-yeah but it is a bit weird you know... When the captain saw you... he looked scared almost? know anything about that?" His eyes moved over to his friend whom almost instantly has sobered up in response to his question. A silence falling over them as their eyes met, ever closing in on them. The water around them rippled with a tension as Slowly Shoig spoke,"well...thats because One day...I'm gonna be king."

Nishi couldn't help the onslaught that had began, a reliving of his past, his failures. His legs stumbled through the ruins of the city, finding their way towards the shell of a building, his eyes moving up the cracked and eroded stairs. "ALL HAIL KING SHOIJ!" The words echod in his head. A vision of his friend standing tall, the crown prince rising tall in the wake of his fathers passing. He felt his body kneeling, his mouth moving swearing loyalty to his best friend. then slowly moving forward into the building, rocks and shells clattering down. The smell of iron and the pain swelling in his chest bringing him back to the worst moment of his existence.

"THE WALLS ARE BREACHED! THE WARRIORS ARE UPON US" The chaos in the room as the handful of still able to fight guards stood before their king, one last stand. Nishi turned towards his friend a look of worry on his face, a sentiment mirrored by the now king. He had no time to reassure him as the world exploded his body being sent into the throne, cracking his head against it as he tried to fight the ever closing darkness. But it was too late. When he awoke, everyone was gone... the king had fallen... his friend had fallen. AS his memory let loose of him he found himself looking down at a stone, covered with barnacles and eroded partially. His paw resting on the faint writing 'Shoij. A friend and a king beloved above the rest.' Slowly Nishin dropped to a prone position laying upon the grave. "I continue to live up to the promise I made my friend... I will protect you till my last breath.

You ask what an old, alone Plate Dragon could cherish. Someone who lost everything and everyone. And that is A Promise. He cherishes his promise to a friend above everything in the world.
