As a young filly, she and her mother would spend ages along the shoreline, and this piece was one of the first she ever found all on her own. Now that her mother and her childhood herd are gone, she clings to it as a symbol of hope.

Her Most Prized Possession: A primitive tool. A simple reddish stone, deposited by a glacier at the edge of a valley many, many millennia ago. It’s nearly flat on one side, coarsely worn down from erosion. The other side is ever so slightly convex, fitting well into the curve of the bottom of her hoof. What makes this particular stone such a tool, you may ask? Crushing. When she finds a nut, pinecone, or similarly well protected little snack this mare will place it on a hard surface, nudge her rock on top, then with one well aimed hoof strike- CRACK! The delicious treasure within is available. When not in use, she usually carries this stone in her mouth or tucked safely into a particular knot in her tail.

The journal was found many years ago, abandoned by a lost traveler who passed through the meadow. Inside were pages filled with intricate drawings of faraway places and adventures. Though Zahra couldn’t read the words, the pictures spoke to her, igniting her imagination and connecting her to the world beyond her home. Every evening, she’d stay under her favorite oak tree, looking through the pages, feeling the magic of distant lands and dreaming of the adventures she might one day have.

She loves this old brush because it belonged to a little girl who would use it to groom her almost every day, until she got sick. The visit from that sweet girl grew farther apart, and each time she looked weaker and weaker. One day she couldn't even manager to pick up that brush, and then she was gone forever. All that's left is the old brush, and so help anyone who tries to throw the ragged old thing away, as to this mare it is far more than a brush. It is the last bit of a sweet little girls love she has left.
