name; Koda
fact; Bats are the only mammal species that can fly, and this is quite known, but how? Who are bats ancestors? Are there non-flying mammals that share the same origin with bats? It is not really known since bats are small mammals and small ancient bones usually are very difficult to find. However, it is believed that the non-flying ancestors of bats developed their wings because of their habit of sleeping upside-down and climbing trees: individuals with elongated limbs had more advantage and then they developed the membrane that constitutes the wings. The ability to fly turned out to be very useful and... here we have our cute modern bats! However, this is just a conjecture and the real evolution process can be very different from this! more information and better explained if anyone is interested, also sorry if the answer is too long!

ohmygosh I LOVE bats!! ;v; <3
when hand-rearing brown house bats here, the best milk replacement is kitten milk and as they get older, mealworms are a great way to get them used to chewing on their food! <3

name; hyalesque
fact; female vampire bats will save part of their blood meal to share with recent mother bats, family members and close roostmates. as bats are a highly social species, this can be viewed as a rare instance of altruism in the animal kingdom!
