This maru has been traveling far and wide, and is finally ready to settle down and make some
traditions. To adopt them, describe - with words, art or images - a Christmas tradition they can do each winter/holiday! Despite the name Christmas tradition, it does not need to be very related to Christmas at all. <3
This contest will be up for 24h after my post, and there is
one premade runner up!

o.o <3 Mark!
Name: Zhuldyz
On the same night every Winter, a shower of stars appears in the sky. On that night, Zhuldyz tells those around about the ones that live amongst the stars. Their adventures and dreams, their conflicts and relationships. How when they pass on they become the stars themselves. And if they have shown themselves kind and worthy, they become a whole constellation to tell a reminder of their story. Zhuldyz will tell the story of the Rose constellation and the story of love they had. And the story of the Shield constellation and their great battles protecting their people from those from the far reaches of space that tried to conquer them. A few groups of stars were groups of friends that created constellations telling of their joy and dreams of exploring those very far reaches and learning, of trust and love in a group that feels as family. These are some of the brightest constellations. And so, the ones that have come listen to the stories of the sky, drinking warm drinks around a fire to keep away the chill, they watch these very stars twinkle in the night and hope for their own dreams to be as bright and shining as they.

marumi name: Noelle
Marumi tradition: Each year on Christmas night, Noelle visits the homes of the forgotten and unfortunate. She quietly sneaks inside, fills their stockings and leaves a plentiful pile of presents neatly wrapped under their Christmas tree.
She has become a Christmas tale told to children, a staple in the community. Because of her night sky like coat and gold accessories, those who first saw Noelle believed her to be an Angelic being and thus, Elders started the tradition of “The Angel Tree”. It’s said that forgotten or unfortunate adults, children and seniors who write their names down on a star shaped paper and hang it on the tree will be blessed by Noelle.
( I love the angel tree tradition :,3 💗)

Marumi name: Aster
Tradition:
Aster’s hometown has a very simple tradition. On the eve of Christmas, everyone would choose one gift from under the Christmas tree that they’d like to open. They bring it out to their front yard or anywhere that has a view of the beautiful night sky. There, they would wait for Aster. He would fly into the sky, high enough for everyone to see and use his powers to illuminate himself. Upon seeing Aster glow, everyone would open their gift.
Aster is the Christmas star of his town and it’s something that everyone looks forward to.

Atlas
.-*Marumi Lore*-.
Atlas was the marumi responsible for creating every single
star in all the spiral galaxies of our universe. Yes, that's a
lot, I know! But at least he wasn't left with the job of
creating
all the stars.
With his job now done, he is ready to retire. He's always
had an artist's eye, so he has decided to take up painting.
Too bad he runs cold... Artist's paws being icy don't help
when you need to hold a paint brush! Maybe someone
could help?
How the Star Lord Created The Sweatering
Atlas is a weary traveler, one who has traveled far too far for far too long. Of course, you know this, dear reader. Of course you know that he has created every star in the spiral galaxies of our universe. Though, maybe you are not aware of such things outside your own sphere.
Atlas is new to these so-called "traditions" we Earthlings are so fond of; yet some small part of his cosmic soul finds them endearing—"Excuse me, narrator! I just spoke to him and he said he really likes how warm and fuzzy we look when it gets chilly—is that true?"
Serenity, the fluffy blue marumi with an overflowing amount of joy in her heart and snowflakes fluttering behind her, interrupted our great winter tale."Why—I... Yes! Of course the all-mighty star creator, one of such coldness and void-silence, would crave the warmth of a good sweater," the narrator scoffed with pride; their words said with an air of submission that hinted they may have misspoken of our great star lord. "Oh! Well I just knitted one for him...could you do me a favor and deliver it to him?"
Serenity beamed, pulling out a chunky-knit sweater that is clearly homemade. It is a rich, warm, cream color that buckles and bunches in areas in an artsy way. The color of the yarn varies in places, as if the wool was spun from multiple sources, yet it creates a wonderfully coherent pattern. It seems as if the sweater was made for an artist. "Deliver a sweater? What am I—a carrier pigeon? I refuse to bring some bundle of poorly-woven yarn to the almighty star creator." Of course, our narrator did not know what was about to ensue. Serenity deflated in a way that only truly strong marumis do; slowly and by only a fraction. She would not be half the lady of the winter that she is today if she did not live up to her name. She simply hugged her handmade sweater to her chest and admired her work, brushing the wool between her paws.
Atlas, the star lord himself, walked in on paws as silent as night, looming behind the smaller marumi in front of him, so aptly named Serenity. He brought his head next to hers, admiring the sweater she made for him.
"I've been made aware that I have a parcel, yes?" Atlas smiled, taking the fluffy sweater from Serenity's paws. "Now, explain to me how you so perfectly guessed my size?"
Serenity gasped, "Why! I just took a guess, that's all..."
She looked stupefied, but in a way that shows admiration for the subject. Her cheeks flushed a gentle pink, though it was probably due to the fact that she had made it begin to snow.
"I must say—Serenity, yes?—" Serenity could only nod. "When one is eons old and has finally come to rest for once, you somehow managed to predict exactly what I needed: a little warmth to ease my weary bones." The narrator was flabbergasted, turning red in the face from holding back their outrage. How dare he not be magnificent! He looks like a normal marumi! Atlas merely glanced at the narrator, his eyes narrowing and his pupils becoming menacingly scarce. "With as many ears as I have, you should be careful of what you say— let alone what you think. I have lived long enough to know what I desire. Leave this place and your poor taste in clothing may soon better." The narrator ran, scrambling down the slope of the narrative setting they so perfectly chose for our story tonight. Atlas chuckled, a deep rumbling sound. "My dear Serenity, I would love nothing more than to commemorate this day of warmth in spite of such coldness: let us call this day the sweatering, and may we spend the eve knitting a new sweater. Next year, how about we make you one?""Why of course! I would love to!"
The blue marumi giggled, helping Atlas fit the new sweater over his ears. "Though...I hope you're better at sizing sweaters than I am!"
In reality, the sweater was a perfect fit. Yes, it's me: the narrator, again! But this time, a little less grumpy. Such was the start of a lovely winter tradition: Sweatering Eve and Sweatering Day! Some say Atlas is still working on Serenity's sweater from last year...Poor thing just couldn't get a hang of the stitches...
