Third day of December! Have you put up decorations for Christmas or winter yet? It looks like this marumi has ^^ So, I want to know what is this marumi's favorite Christmas or winter-related decoration! (This can be an ornament, some type of lights, a figure they put up outside, etc.) You have one (optional) image and how many words you need to explain their favorite decoration and why it is their favorite. (There is no word limit, but don't stress adding too many words because this is meant to be a short competition. I will be judging off of creativity and explanation - not word count after all ^^)

The story of a Christmas Spider is one of tradition and compassion. It starts with a poor family who cannot afford to decorate their tree with lavish ornaments and wrappings. A spider, thankful for the warmth that the family provides by living in the home, overhears their lament and gives back by spinning intricate webs across the tree. Father Christmas sees the dedication and gratitude of the spider and, with his magic, turns all the webs into silver and gold tinsel. So now the family, seeing their beautiful tree, can spend the day with happiness and gratefulness.

Thus its her tradition to put one on her tree and imagine the little spider's webs are turned to tinsel through Father Christmas' magic. They are beautiful, bejeweled, little friends that spread joy and reminders to be thankful for all things big and small each year~

Marumi's favorite Christmas or winter-themed decoration and why:

There it hung, on the highest point of the tree, right below the glowing star on top. He couldn't even reach it, nope! And it was always quite the journey getting it up there (jump, jump, jump!) as it was with getting it down (a few trees completely knocked over in the past...), but it was ALWAYS there.

He doesn't even remember who it came from, but he remembers one Christmas finding that someone had placed it on the tippy top of his ear, how silly! Maybe they mistook him for the tree, he thinks, as his fur grows the very same pine needles that a tree would, and his crystals shine like ornaments.

Nevertheless, he sits below the tree and stares at the tippy top, proud of successfully hanging it up for another year. A little popsicle stick with googly eyes, a Santa outfit crudely colored in with red marker, and little felt details with the glue still showing. Yet it had most gorgeous golden beaded rope laced through the top from which it hung.

So, clearly made by a child, but he laughs at the thought of being mistaken for a tree, happy for how much joy he must've brought to them being able to hang up their perfect ornament! He carries this tradition by hanging it up high for all to see every year.

marumi's favorite Christmas or winter-themed decoration and why: Tassel's favorite Christmas decoration isn't the normal trees or lights, she instead loves the inflatable decorations. The reason is pretty simple, when she was a baby her and her siblings would run around looking at all the Christmas decorations but one year they made a bit of a mistake and ran up a big mountain to see what the house at the top of the mountain and Tassel lost her footing slipping in the snow and rapidly rolling down the mountain. Her siblings panicked chasing after her and calling for their parents, she became a big snowball just gaining more and more speed. Her father, who was down the mountain, stole someone's inflatable snowman throwing it in Tassel's way wanting it to slow her down so he could catch her. It actually ended up fully stopping her like a soft pillow and ever since she's had a special love for the inflatable decorations.

liebevoll's favorite decoration is the angel their family puts on top of their Christmas tree! it was handcrafted and sewn by their grandma many moons ago. the angel has a big poofy white dress, a pair of wings of wings made out of lace, and two closed eyes drawn with marker on the angel's face.

when looking at the angel, this marumi can't help but feel a sense of peace. holidays are a time of joy and laughter as families and friends get together. even when the holidays aren't always perfect, with something as simple as placing the angel, liebevoll feels loved and full of hope for the future.

marumi's favorite Christmas or winter-themed decoration and why: those glowing fairy light deer lawn ornaments. they just look so pretty at night with all the white snow around to accent the glowing gold, yellow lights. they really enjoy the Christmas cheer it brings the kiddies around this time of year; they get so excited seeing the reindeer that pull Santas sleigh! what a beautiful moment to witness such joy and excitement!
