fable name: Dolus
story: One afternoon, Dolus wandered to the edge of the meadows, where the land became the woods that were rumored to be cursed. Stories echoed throughout— tales of those who ventured into the woods, never to return. Yet, Dolus felt a pull, a whisper from the depths,.. enticing him.
As he pondered, he noticed Indra; her coat was the color of snow, and her spirit was gentle. Pure. Dolus knew she often followed the rules, kept her distance from danger, and preferred the safety of the sunny meadows.
She looked up as Dolus approached, concern flickering in her bright eyes. “What are you planning?” she asked, her voice soft but edged with worry.
“I’ve heard tales of wonders hidden within the forests,” Dolus said, his voice low and inviting. “Imagine what we could discover together!”
“Together?” Indra echoed, her skepticism evident. “You know what they say about those woods. They steal away the lost.”
“Only if you fear them!” Dolus replied, enthusiasm in his tone. “Fear is for the timid.”
With determination and a rush of impulsive bravery, Indra found herself caught in Dolus’s spell of adventure. She nodded hesitantly, and together they set off toward the looming darkness. (198/200)
