shying away, the moon holds a deep resentment for her existence. she used to find herself jealous of the sun's radiance; the way she shined over all of creation with her own light, the way life would rise and live when greeted by morning, the way her entrances and exits were always so beautiful.

but, becoming close with the sun has helped her to realize her own beauty. the sun always admired the dark that she lived in. the sun reminded her that the night was important for the earth; nighttime was the time to rest. without night, the creatures could not sleep. without her reflection of the suns light, the earth would find itself pitch black during the nighttime.

without the moon, the sun would be alone. there would be no eclipse to satisfy the curious creatuees below.

The sun stirs feelings of respect, appreciation, resentment and bitterness.

Life could not continue without the sun. It's warmth is needed to soften the soil so the seed can grow unhampered; to ease the cold winter aches once more; and to bring the creatures out from the burrows. It is the bringer of light, allowing for ease of sight and guidance among those with unspecialised eyes. To be so dependent on the sun to be there each day, without being at least somewhat appreciative of it's service would be foolish.

However, it would be nice to be wanted on the same level. The moon controls the tides, allows for ease of navigation and stabilises the climate so creatures can actually survive. The stars and planets hung high can't be the only things worth or note, surely?

But perhaps, that is jealousy talking. Insecurity, even.

Today the sun is nice and warm. Today, Mahina is going to enjoy it. And if tomorrow is cold? Well, that might be just fine too.
