With the moon, she can only see it at night when she really wants to sleep because she works so hard. But whenever she sees the sun, she feels her entire body light up. literally. And when the sun up she can play and have fun unlike when the moon is.

Like distant laughter the moon taunts her. It says “I am here and you are not”
and she hears its words floating through her window in the middle of the night.

She lives in a tower, the same that her father and his and his before that had
all belonged to the same. They all lived in the same mind, with a heart stronger
than the wind that races over deep waters. They all dreamed of the moon and
the moon dreamed of them, but the moon could not reach them nor they it
and so it would continue to laugh its sad and cold laugh. She would sit at her
desk each night and draw her beloved moon in her journal, the front of it bares
her name- a reflection of her family’s passion; Yareakh. She sits down again
tonight and draws her own yareakh, round and beautiful. She can reach her
pages but not the moon and so she gently places a hoof on them, imagining
herself dipping in and out of each crater. Though the moon’s sorrow in its
inability to ever meet the family that belonged to the earth turned sour in its
heart, the same was not true for Yareakh. Tonight she will peek through her
telescope and whisper goodnight to the moon; following habit, tradition, and
love. She’ll remind it not to worry, that she will be there again the following
night, and turns to her bed.

In her bed she will dream of the moon. And far above her the moon will
dream of Yareakh.

Aurora has always admired the moon, she's always loved the light it brought to the darkness of night. She admired the moon for it's blemishes and it's silvery glow, she has always been simply enchanted by it. She spent her sleepless nights staring up at the sky, the moon and it's backdrop of glittering stars.

Aurora's home has always been the sun and the warmth it brings, the way it's always accompanied by the birds and their song. She loves the patterns it makes when it shines through the tree tops and the way it makes the dew drops glitter in the mornings. There are things she loves about the sun, the comfort of it, but something has always captivated her about the sun.

One day, Aurora fell in love and when she fell, she fell fast and hard. Aurora fell like a comet soars through the night sky. To her lover, Aurora's love felt like the sun, it brought her warmth and happiness and comfort, it returned daily without fail. She could count on Aurora and her unwavering loyalty. Luna, for the first time in her life, felt truly loved. She felt the veil of darkness that had been following her lift, she felt the weight of the world shift and she felt the type of love you only hear about in fairytales. Aurora was her twin flame, her soul mate, her shining star. There were moments of fear and of doubt, thoughts of being unworthy or that Aurora's for her came only from her love of the moon, but Aurora was always ready to dispel these thoughts and bring Luna the safety she always brought. They were happy and together, they felt infinite.

Although, not all were so happy about the couple, and in a world where there is love, hatred always lurks close behind. Melisandre, a spellcaster who lived deep in the woods, would be one of those unhappy people. She ruminated about the couple and her hatred built, whether these were true feelings or projections based off of her own shortcomings, the world may never know. But what we do know, will shake you to your core. Melisandre took months to concoct her plan, weeks perfecting her spell and days watching the couple and learning their tracks. Until her personal day of reckoning had come, the Day of Darkness. She set out one night while Luna was picking herbs in the woods. Mel came up behind her and began casting her spell, cursing her for having the life she watned so bad and before Luna could react, the spell had finished. In a burst of swirling light, Luna vanished.

The witch had banished Luna to the moon, sending Aurora on a quest to get her lover back.
