by the way, i am absolutely blown away by the way you've illustrated the corn plants, and especially how you've added depth to the scene!

oh this is gorgeous.

You glance between the two paths a few times, weighing the pros and cons of further exploration versus progressing in the maze and finding out what else the farm has to offer. As you look around, you spot a big cornstalk a few paces away, sort of curled over at the top. It's leaning into its neighbor, and the way the two stalks press together makes the shape of a perfect heart! ♡

last time i went to a corn maze, me and my step brother used the fallen corn husks to mark our trails so we didnt track back on ourselves. it was ingenious rly.

Besides, we seem to already know where the middle is, so as long as we keep track of the direction we are heading we should be able to make it back just fine. (We've aced the maze so far, so its not like we'll get lost, right?)

Fun fact: I am afraid of the dark but love spooky things and am afraid of the dark but love spooky things but am afraid of the-

You start to lean towards exploring the darker path, but decide that if you do, you're going to take a few precautions. You take some fallen dried leaves from underneath the cornstalks and use a few to make an "x" on the ground at this fork in the maze. When* you come back around later, you'll have a marker to tell you where to go! It's a comforting thought.
*if you come back around later.

getting lost in the corn maze is a necessity!! especially with those adorable mushrooms :3

Excited to see where it will go, wonder if we will see more mushrooms down the path too. Or other things I haven't seen in a corn maze.

As you continue to ponder your options, you take another look at the stubby purple mushrooms decorating the path to your right. They're dusted with pollen from the corn husks and flecked with little white spots. Oddly charming, now that you're looking at them more closely. A little frog jumps out of the corn stalks and sits atop a big toadstool. He looks up at you and gives you a big ribbit.

I'm breaking character for this one real quick because let me tell you the way that I CACKLED at this one!! xD what do you mean!! those are the nice happy bright path voices! I wouldn't do that to y'all 😂 /lh /gen
