Autumn is when monstrous heads rear up to the sky, towering high above many marumi; terrifying and attracting many with their face studded with hundreds of eyelets. Acres can hardly contain their swarm as they cloister and trap wandering passerby who folly. The sunflower rays are entranced by life and warmth yet are they moving to follow the sun or are they following a warm body and sustenance? It is not Oberlin's place to say, but he will be armed with a lantern and a compass to fish lost tourists out from the sunflower fields. They stumble around in gratitude, some started when the sun rose and only managed to leave as dusk when Oberlin found them.

The crazed desperation makes Oberlin wonder about what happens to the birds that fly into the fields, but rarely fly out. Really, if you look at it, the scarecrows are to protect the birds more than they are to protect the flowers.

Extra: Despite the danger, Oberlin wholeheartedly endorses the maze for those who are overly proud. They haven't lost a single marumi yet but those who mock the flowers seem to have a greater challenge getting out. Is the maze shifting beneath their feet or did they just take a wrong turn?
