i'm not sure if i have to fill in a form for this gal, so i'll just drop the basics:

name: thistle
gender: female (she/her)
species: axis deer (also known as "chital" or "spotted deer")


gonna be honest: i was fully inspired by these two flickr images of this absolutely stunning doe (source)

i had no idea piebald in deer could present in such a way - she almost looks like a red roan, and look at that fluffy tail! the author unfortunately said that this lovely girl was caught by a predator, so rest in peace :(

by the way: i came up with some lore for thistle, so i'll include that here, too.

thistle is a young, pretty little doe. she's clearly not been away from her original band for very long, and is still quite unsure of things. she lacks a lot of survival sense, but isn't stupid - just inexperienced. thistle became sonam's partner after falling head over hooves for him, really playing into the naive, lovesick little doe trope. sonam and her are just trying to stay alive, and sonam, despite being kindhearted, isn't as interested in thistle as she is in him. they take good care of each other, but their love for each other is a 75% to 100% sort of thing.

thistle's original band was utterly disapproving of the doe's decision to leave. in a fit of rage, her father struck her with his antlers, leaving the innocent doe's neck forever marked. it's a constant reminder of her choosing love over family.
