Name Meaning: A play on the phrase "resting on tenterhooks", meaning a state of anxiety and unease; Hector is a very relaxed boof, regardless of what his tusks might imply.
Prompt:

Despite his fearsome appearance, Hector is an absolute sweetheart, and is always ready for cuddles and snacks!

While his lower tusks are slightly mobile, like the water deer he resembles, his upper tusks create an upper limit on the amount his mouth can open; while he can graze, he has also learned that sticking close to the barns means that he has easier access to other rations and snacks that are easier to fit in his mouth.

His upper tusks also require a lot of maintenance, as they must be gently worn down to keep them from rubbing against his face and eyes. These tusks are remarkably sensitive, and it's a good mark on if Hector trusts you if he lets you touch his tusks.

As a result of the extra care he needs, Hector is far and away the most habituated of Dreamhaven Gardens' buffalo, and has been since a very young age. This has allowed him and his personality to grow into an affectionate bull, who is calm when his head is handled and who takes a (rather modified) halter with ease.

Babirusa takes after his namesake in a few ways. Tusks aside, Bab loves eating a wide variety of food. Whatever he came get access to, he's gonna eat! He's known for coming up to picnics on the ranch, looking friendly and innocent, only to grab the basket of food and run!

His favorite place to hang out on the ranch is the swamp that borders a small edge. He loves the feel of cool mud followed by a dip in the shallow water. Plus, the swamp makes the perfect hiding spot to scare his friends. That's where Babs differs from actual boars. While he's a male, he has many friends he adores. Rarely alone, it seems like he can't get enough of others company. And those friends come from many different species whether its bison, human, dog, or really anyone else on the ranch!

He has a bit of a secret hobby. On the rare times he is alone, he goes back to the swamp to look at and study all the unique vegetation that grows there. ...and maybe take an experimental nibble or two
