The sounds of the evening float around you as you finish your meal and pocket the fortune cookie that was left for you at the edge of the table. You can hear the waves washing at the shore, and the quiet voices of others who are still enjoying their time together in the spaces around you. It's peaceful and lovely, but you know you should head on your way soon, so your table will be ready for someone else.
You stretch your legs as you stand and think about taking a walk along the shore to watch the sunset. But as you start to step out onto the sidewalk, a strange-looking vending machine by the corner catches your eye. The snacks inside are some you don't think you've ever seen before, some brightly colored and others in strangely-shaped bottles.
You did just eat though. Surely you could always swing by another time to try something new.
