.The building before you doesn’t really look like a place that a goobie might call home - not anymore, at least. The old observatory is more greenery than brick at this point; long-since broken windows permit the crumbling interior to suffer the full force of the elements, while cracks in the walls had opened up into large holes, leaving piles of rubble all over the grassy floor. And yet, despite the state this place is in, there are signs of life. As you step inside, you’re greeted by tall bookshelves lined with books, completely free from dust. Small, studious goos complete their earliest tasks in life, carrying books from one pile to another safely within their membrane. And in the back, enthralled in an ancient tome, is a goobie who nearly blends in with the overgrown vines and grass all around her. She doesn’t notice you until you enter her field of view, at which point she gets startled.
......“
Oh!! Oh - hello! Sorry, you scared me. I don’t get visitors often.” She glances down at the book to memorize the page she’s on, before setting it aside and offering a paw to shake. “My name’s
Arwen, librarian and head archeologooist. I used to go out on archeologoo digs all the time, but now I run the Lore Library. Are you here to browse the collection? Or are you the brave, adventurous goobies that I’ve requested to aid me?”
.Welcome to the Lore Library! This is a hub for all goobies lore, as well as the weekly and monthly archeologoo jobs. Here, you’ll find the lore from all of the previous goobies events, including tl;dr summaries and links to the events, and additional lore that is unearthed through monthly rotating events and weekly jobs. This post is also where you’ll post your forms to participate in archeologoo weekly jobs and the monthly archeologoo event, if the event is active. (Check the job board on the main page to find the active monthly rotating event!)

Archeologoo Weekly Job: The Big Dig!
“It’s hard to believe that no goobies before us ever bothered to check what’s right underneath our paws. There’s an abundance of artifacts out there, I’m sure of it! Promise you’ll bring me back what you find, okay?”
........Welcome to the digsite! Before you begin, make sure you have your goobie signed up to be an archeologooist on
the job board! Keep in mind that your goobie can only switch jobs once a month, resetting on the 1st of every month CS time. Here are instructions on how to participate in The Big Dig:
- You’ll have the option to select one digsite from a few that are available to you. You can only choose one digsite per week, and this is where your goobie will work.
- You are able to choose any of the default digsites, with special ones being available upon successful completion of the archeologoo monthly rotating event, which are then permanently unlocked for the goobie that completed the event.
- At the end of each week, results will be rolled and your goobie will be rewarded based on RNG + the digsite they chose. Some areas may have more artifacts, while others might have more items or currency.
- The digsite is closed on the CS rollover into Sunday to allow for the results to be rolled. Regular digsite operations resume on Monday.
- Your goobie is able to equip up to 2 equippables related to their job that will increase the chance of obtaining rewards. These equippables are available in the shop, and will be able to be crafted by players in the future.
Default Digsites:Sprawling Field
This site seems a *little* close to Arwen’s library… as long as you don’t dig under the foundations, she probably won’t mind.
Low risk - Low reward: 95% reward rate
High chance for crafting ingredients, high chance for coins, extremely low chance for lore fragments.
Pile o’ Bones
Hey, these look a little bit like goosaurs!
Medium risk - Medium reward: 85% reward rate
Low chance for crafting ingredients, medium chance for fractured items, medium chance for coins, low chance for lore fragments
The Formless Pit
It’s probably not so safe to dig down here… but that just means more rewards for you!
Medium-high risk - Medium-high reward: 75% reward rate
High chance for fractured items, low chance for full items, high chance for coins, low chance for lore fragments, no chance for crafting ingredients
Exclusive Digsites:These digsites are only available to archeologooists that have proven themselves capable by completing the monthly rotating event. They must have a “Dirt Lover” badge in one of their equippable slots.
Olympus Excavation
…maybe it’s best that you don’t ask how you can dig in the clouds.
High risk - Medium reward: 70% reward rate
High chance for crafting ingredients, low chance for fractured items
Atlantean Architecture
The mergoos probably don’t even realise that they’re so close to such a treasure trove!
High risk - Medium reward: 70% reward rate
High chance for fractured items, low chance for coins
El Dorado Spoils
While going this far underground is probably above your pay grade, they don’t call you an expert for nothing.
High risk - Medium reward: 70% reward rate
High chance for coins, low chance for crafting ingredients
Ready to start? Post the form below to get to work!

“The history of goobies is expansive, and we hardly know any of it.” Arwen is pensive, yet hopeful. “But the gob and gobbess never had any intent to hide it from us. At least, I don't think so. While there are some discrepancies that I've noticed, it seems more like a game of goolophone where the story gets changed just a little every time it's told. There are clues everywhere, we just have to look for them - we'll figure out the truth soon enough. Here’s everything I’ve compiled so far in chronological order. Feel free to peruse it at your leisure. I’ve written summaries under the accounts in their entirety, if you’re strapped for time.”
.....The Beginning
All goobies were once one creature, called the Great Gob. It was hungry and lonely, consuming all life in its wake to try and satiate its never-ending hunger. It roamed the galaxy tirelessly, before choosing a planet to settle down on. This planet had plenty of food, but already had a dominant lifeform. It also needed some terraforming to be a truly perfect home. The Great Gob splits into two in order to begin to set their plans in motion, the gob and the gobbess. Beneath them, they create goobies and goo-offs over which to rule.
Goovolution 2022
The biggest holiday of the year, Goovolution, is a yearly event to commemorate when the great gob separated. Goobies set aside their differences and come together to worship their respective gobs, Jystyr for diabs and Fallen for agels.
The gobbess, Fallen, had returned to the goos for the first time in hundreds of years. She showed a particular fondness for the agels, her greatest creations, marveling that the universe still continued to exist without divine strings being pulled by her paw. Fallen deduced that this could only be a result of her other half, the gob Jystyr, continuing to maintain the planet in her absence, much to her disdain, and to the surprise of the goobies around her. She threatened the goobs to show her Jystyr, until at last he made himself known. Fallen asked Jystyr to return with her to the skies in his true form, using a name that no goobie had ever heard him being referred to as before, but he refused, instead requesting for the gobbess to meet him on the ground together.
With both gob and gobbess on the ground, the goobies around them scrambled to pick sides, reuniting with the deities they had only heard of in legend. Fallen erupted with fury at the sight of goobies rallying behind Jystyr - without her, they would be nothing. They were imperfect. And so she threatened to have the world swallowed up, erased, so that she and Jystyr could start over once more, an idea that the gob couldn’t even begin to fathom. He defended the goobies around him bravely, swearing that he would not allow the world to be consumed by their child, Morr’geth. Enraged further, Fallen took off once more into the atmosphere, vanishing from sight for the time being. It was after this traumatic event that Jystyr lost the ability to speak, only communicating in honks.
Gooble Festival 2022
Goobles crash-landed on the planet shortly after Goovolution 2022. They are creatures made by Fallen of little intelligence, who come from another planet.
With a broken spaceship on their doorstep, goobies were tasked with helping the goobles to fix it so that they could return home. While fixing the UFO, they speak to Gootenant Marshmallow, the leader of the goobles. He revealed that they follow the gobbess’ commands to the best of their ability. They don’t have to think much about this, though, as Fallen commands them to eat whatever they can. By the end of the Gooble Festival, many goobles returned home in their newly-repaired spaceship, but some choose to stay with the goobies.
Gooish 2022
The fraction that comes out victorious with the most points during Goovolution gets an event dedicated to them later on in the year. These events attract goobies from all over the planet, leading to new subspecies being discovered every year.
Mergoos were the first subspecies to make themselves known, during the event called Gooish! They were quick to befriend the land-dwelling goobies, teaching them sea shanties and inviting them down to their underwater abodes. It was discovered that all goobies have the ability to breathe underwater through their membrane, and because of this, more goos became inspired to grow up into mergoos after this event.

Goovolution 2023
Fallen returns for this Goovolution, with consequences more dire than the year prior.
At the beginning of this year’s Goovolution, goobies were greeted by the sight of Jystyr once more. Eager to meet the gob who worked tirelessly to ensure the sun and stars followed their course day in and day out, many goobies approached him seeking answers.Through his partners, Rune and Bram, Jystyr communicated that he believed Fallen would return, and that he and all the goobies there would have to team up again to defeat her. And just as he had suspected, it didn’t take long for Fallen to appear once more, a blanket of fear settling over the crowd of goobies that had gathered.
Fallen appeared to them, injured, saying that she wanted to apologize. She seemed sincere, and many were inclined to believe her. However, as she began to speak, it quickly became clear that she had no remorse for her actions, or for how little she thought of their goobies, and instead wanted Jystyr to apologize for leaving her, once again making a bid for them to start over again. But Jystyr had already made up his mind, telling Fallen that he had found others to love. This knowledge sent Fallen into a frenzy, and she attacked Jystyr. He never expected Fallen to ever hurt him, and took the full force of the blow in shock. Goo began to fly left and right across what was now a battlefield - all the goo that landed on Fallen made her grow in strength, while with Jystyr, it only made him weaker. With the last of his strength, he summoned up stars to toss at the gobbess, which only provoked her into shifting into her true form.
The fight continued at a tremendous scale - stars, sunbeams, and moons being tossed left and right as the colossally powerful being fought, evenly matched. But it wasn’t long before Jystyr’s power started to wane, and Fallen returned to her mortal form once more, taunting him with the threat of making them one, once again. As the goobles arrived to Fallen’s side, Jystyr knew that the battle was lost, and he had no fight left in him, his stars beginning to dim. Despite putting him in this state, she had a small bit of solace to offer to the gob - that she wouldn’t ungoo his precious goobies. However, that was the only comfort that Fallen would grant, as barely a moment later she grabbed Jystyr, tossing him with all her force into the atmosphere, far away from the goobies that adored him. This event marked the beginning of Fallen’s reign, and she appointed 4 goobies onto her council which she turned into minor gobs. It was noted, after gazing into the sky, that only a single star remained, faint and dimly glowing.
Gooble Festival 2023
The goobles arrive once more to serve their gobbess, and Fallen is inspired to create more friends for them and her new goobie subjects.
During this Gooble Festival, Fallen revealed that the goobles would be staying on the planet with the goobies, and would not be returning to their own planet, now that this was where the gobbess was residing. Over the course of the festival, Fallen introduced several different creatures, known as goo-offs, in the same vein as goobles: goozards, goorses, goosaurs, goocans, goosels, gooshes, gooles, and goolants. But there was one goo-off that Fallen did not create - the goolown. These elusive goo creatures could only be found at night, uttering the same honking sound as the gob that had been lost to the world.
Fallen Agels 2023
The fraction that comes out victorious with the most points during Goovolution gets an event dedicated to them later on in the year. With Fallen in charge and Jystyr nowhere to be seen, it was the agels’ turn for an event.
With goobies eager to know more about the gobbess who had eluded them for so long, they took this opportunity to gather around her for the event celebrating the fraction that she created, the agels. The gobbess wasted no time, starting the event by telling a story to all the goobs who would listen, about the creation of the universe and her separation from Jystyr from her perspective. She spoke of how she and Jystyr were like the day and night respectively, finding comfort in each other despite the constant hunger that they felt. But despite this comfort, they still felt there was a void that couldn’t be filled, and so they created goobies, who wanted nothing but to devour. The planet they called home was soon devoid of all life, all consumed by the goobies. This was when Fallen and Jystyr created goo-offs to fill the void that had once been occupied by the living beings of the planet. For once, Fallen felt full. Despite this, Jystyr was unhappy, his tears filling the sky with stars. Fallen felt anger not only because of this, not being enough for her partner, but also because Jystyr had gone off on his own to create goolowns, little clown creatures that made him happy.
Fallen became jealous, taking it personally that Jystyr had forsaken what they had created together, and so she went to war against the gob - despite her power, Jystyr was stronger, powered by the love from the creatures he had nurtured, who he truly cared about, instead of using merely as a means to an end. This counter-attack sent Fallen out into space, banished from the planet they had conquered together.
This wasn’t the only knowledge that had been gleaned from this event, however. Strange caverns opened up around the planet, and goobies who were adventurous enough to explore their depths met fallen agels - these agels were loyalists to Fallen who sequestered themselves underground after her banishment so that they wouldn’t have to interact with diabs on the surface world. Many of them looked more like statues than goobies, with cracked bodies and heavy, translucent goo. It seemed, however, that the untold years underground had made the fallen agels more keen to learn about what had transpired since their time away from the sun’s warm light, and were even willing to speak with a few diabs that had made it to the abode of the fallen agels. After some discussion, they agreed to join their fellow goobies on the surface once more.

Goovolution 2024
No gobbess can rule forever… can they?
Since Goo-o-ween 2023, a strange black goo had covered the ground, sticky and eerie and dull.Though it moved at a slow pace, it moved nonetheless, and began to coalesce into a large obelisk. It was on the morning of Goovolution 2024 that the obelisk reached towards the sky, drowning out the sun and blanketing the planet in darkness. Panic ensued as goobies desperately tried to figure out what was going on, unable to see even just a few inches in front of them. Though it seemed like a nightmare, it was very much real, and all the running in the world wasn’t enough to save any of the goobies from the darkness. Many goobies succumbed to drowsiness, before falling into a sleep that they were unable to wake from.
Despite the chaos, Rune and Bram were calm as ever, and had a strange specimen of matte black tar in their care. After a few days of experimentation, they determined that the goo was the remains of Jystyr, who had been deceased for a year at that point. Their hypothesis was that this specimen, along with the goo that blotted out the sun, was his attempt at trying to bring himself back together after falling apart in the atmosphere. It wasn’t too long after making this assumption that a semi-sentient creature arrived at the door, goo dripping all around its form as it pushed itself into the lab with Rune and Bram.
With the help of brave goobies who stayed by the scientists’ sides, the blob of goo that was once Jystyr was reminded of all of the things that made him the caring gob that he once was. These words seemingly got through to him, as he was able to control his goo once more, pulling it back into his form and allowing the sun to shine for the first time in several days.
The gobbess, awakened from her slumber, questioned Jystyr about how he had been reduced to such a state. The gob was still little more than a melting pile of goo who had no answers to give. Fallen elaborated that Jystyr was meant to eat the goobies in order to recover, and she was disgusted that he would rather let himself become like this than to sacrifice his goobies for his own strength. But as she spoke, Jystyr’s goo crept up her body, until it had become an abyss in which to swallow her whole. It was after this that Jystyr was able to reform himself into a goobie, but still he struggled to maintain his corporeal form. He was little more than inky darkness, glossy shine and stars still lost from his body. Although he only had a fraction of his memories back, he returned to the mortal plane to watch over his beloved goobies once more.

"As you continue your journey through gooearth, you may find artifacts that are of more value reading than owning. Our gob and gobbess have lived here much longer than we have, and even though we come from them, our memories are not completely shared. They have left little pieces of lore - their writings, their discoveries - behind for us to find. If you happen to find something with writing on it, please bring it to me. I'll do my best to put them in chronological order, and I'll also include the lore that we discover together here."

They wanted to pick 'and', but I told them that wasn't one of the names. The humans would know for sure if one of us named themselves 'and'. So I told them to pick Juliet. Now I am Romeo, and they are Juliet. The play was no good, though. It will never take off."
