Happy third anniversary! Hard to believe how quickly time flies. Like the past two years I've been very, very behind on working on my staff customs (oops...) Maybe this September 2023 Staff Custom will have a better home with you! I'll give this one away in exchange for new marking suggestions - what kind of new marking are you interested in seeing? Show me a picture or describe it below.
Ends on July 11th and you may only win one of the staff customs.
Custom design information: You are limited to one very rare marking, one rare marking, up to 3 uncommon markings, and any common markings. You can substitute the rare marking for one of the following: feathered coat/half tail/bobtail/flopped ears/curled tail. If you won any voucher prizes from the joint agility event you may add them to this dog (ie special ears/coat/tail/extra traits).
See more information about our markings and rarities here and feel free to ask for help in our discord server if you have any questions!

New Marking Idea: I have two main ideas: An A locus gene and an H locus gene
A locus - based on the Numbat. I'm thinking the phaeomelanin (C locus) would cover the front half of the dog and fade into the eumelanin (B/D loci) on the dogs backside with a few lighter stripes on the back hips and around the eyes. This
image has a really nice picture that shows the numbat's coloration well (

H locus - based on the Tapir (specifically the stripes on baby Tapirs). There are 4 species of Tapirs which all have unique infant stripe patterns. These could all serve as inspiration for tapir harlequin patterns while still giving a lot of artist freedom in the exact design. (Source

New Marking Idea:
I've got a couple, so I'll break them up!
1. As an overall suggestion, we could really use more common and uncommon markings! Trying to make dogs with all common or only 1 uncommon marking is significantly more difficult than I expected. >>;;
2. With that in mind, tabby would make for a fun common gene! There's a ton of variation within tabby patterns, so there would be a lot of variation for artists to play with. This would likely make the most sense as an A-locus gene (Atb_), possibly with different expressions based on zygosity. (Source!)
3. Continuing the cat theme: we've got normal 'cheetah', how about king cheetah? This could either be spun as a second L locus gene recessive to savannah flecking (maybe Lsk or Lks?), or as an interaction between savannah flecking and thylacine brindle. (Lk + kbrT) (Source!)
4. Inverse white markings! A gene that switches white markings to black would look awesome. I'm less certain where the gene for this would go- maybe a variation of melanism, or something on the T locus that 'ticks' the white in black instead?
Custom Design: Masked silver and blue blanket merle with fawn white (with blue eyes, if possible!)

New Marking Idea: Something like small patches of random colored hair? My grandmother's dog is all black but has random fluffy patches of brown that are hardly noticeable till up close, giving her a cool colorchanging effect!
Custom Design:Black and silver saddle brindle merle with ticked dappled irish white

Thanks everyone for the fantastic marking suggestions! I had a hard time deciding which one I liked the most, so I brought in the random number generator. Congratulations!
