Dragon Fruit Type: Apple.
Appearance Notes: Whiskers, scale plates, minimal fur. I would prefer for them to be based upon Black Oxford apples, with scars etched into their form.
Prompt: Deepened bathes of smolder born upon the contrasting cerulean of the horizon, culminated in crudely illuminated pools of scalding crimson-ocher, furiously soaked into each and every fathomable fiber of the desecrated cuesta debris etched mercilessly atop the salt sheened cusp of the Earth - merely serving to seperate viscous, thrashing bourns of wine-dark seas from that of the land aforementioned. Poised atop the core of the coastline, a solidarity lighthouse; whereupon the dragon described aloft resides; distilled in a distinctive off-white permeate and befrilling the coarse gravel wreathed furiously beneath itself with the flickering incandesce of its waning light stood idle, dense thickets of virescent governing Dragon Fruit life settled beyond its arrest in years weathered. (114 words).

Apologies if a few portions of the writing seem either hasty or poorly strewn together, for writer's block has plagued me for quite some time preceding this point. Ignore this entry if the founder forms are closed.

Can you make a discord for this species? I’d hate to clog up this thread with questions. xD

Speaking of questions..how long do Dragon Fruits live? Roughly how big are they? Can they survive on a fruit only or meat only diet? Or do they have to be omnivorous to maintain a healthy system? Will more base fruits be added in the future?

I’m apologizing in advance. I ask a lot of questions.

Dragon Fruit Type: blueberry
Appearance Notes: something really summertimey, bright yellows and blue in with some white. go wild! :>
Prompt:
Deep within a tropical rainforest, a tall mountain has sat for thousands of years. over the years, the weathering has changed a lot of the terrain rocky, and mossed over. a massive waterfall comes from within, with a large pond that funnels out into the ocean. palm trees and large jungle trees surround this overgrown terrain, which is still a couple centuries away from even seeing human activity. here, dragons who have adapted to the tropical climate live, and they use their bright colours to blend in to the colourful flowers and plants that have grown. this island is purely habited by these dragons, who can live purely on the fish that stream through the pond from the ocean.

Discord is currently in the process!

Typically they’ll live for a good couple hundred years! They’re fairly small in dragon terms but compared to the human they roughly are the size of an average 5’6 human. Primarily they have evolved to learn towards eating berries, some can eat nuts but eating meat won’t particularly hurt them too bad. Bugs are often a source of food for them. Large animals is rarely ever heard of to be hunted. They don’t have the claws or physical design for being predators. Instead they opt to forage and climb trees or dig in the ground for food sources. In a sense they’d be omnivores but lean heavily to vegetation.

Yes more fruits will be added. I plan to use future events as ways to gradually begin to release new fruit types into the community so things aren’t too overwhelming right off the bat!

That's super helpful, tysm! Longer lifespans than expected. I'll keep my eyes peeled for the discord link, no rush. I know they don't actually fly and can glide, but how well can Dragon Fruits jump? Are they cold-blooded? Can they stand on two feet if they want to or are they too unbalanced to manage it unaided? Are they good swimmers? How well do they see in the dark? Can they breathe fire like typical dragons? Ice? Sparks?

I'll stop for now, I promise. These just help me with lore-building and background info.

No worries at all! It makes me really happy you’re into worldbuilding!

They’re pretty good with jumping! Their legs for climbing have allowed them to also be great with leaping both up and down and for distance. Commonly these dragons can leap from tree to tree. They can also leap to grab fruit in the trees! They can leap up about 3-4 feet and in distance around 5-6 feet!

As they are still reptiles they are cold blooded! In turn this goes well with their fruit growth process as more sunlight also means them being warm as well as their fruit supply also growing!

They are able to stand on two feet! They have very strong tail muscles due to them needing to carry extra weight on their tail due to the fruits. Their back legs also also strong too for again climbing trees and walls and also with supporting their tail.

Swimming varies a lot. Naturally they are average and prefer to stay in the shallow waters. If they do have to swim in deeper waters, it can only be for short distances as the fruit needs to stay above water or else they might risk losing some of it. Dragons with mutated traits such as gills or webbed toes are able to swim much better. Alongside this their fruit connection to their tail is a long stronger so they are able to dive and swim without worry.

Night vision is something slightly improved! Some dragons prefer to scavenge for food at night in order to avoid any larger predators. This means they need to see better to gather their food which has granted them some night vision abilities. While things aren’t crystal clear, it’s enough to get by and see objects at night in a definite shape. Though the scent they use more is smell, their smell is a lot better than anything.

Normally they don’t have any fire abilities or other elemental abilities at all. Lore wise you can add these to your dragons as you please!

You’re free to disregard or apply as much lore as you wish to as well. If you wanna follow the basic anatomy go right ahead but if you wanna adjust anything else that’s also just as cool!

Awesoooome. This is super helpful. Again, thank you!! I’m sure I’ll ask more in the future but I am done for tonight. Lol.
Side note, the sunlight warming them and helping the fruit grow simultaneously is an awesome little tidbit I thoroughly enjoy. 💕
