πŸ’Ž Ey'la Dobren πŸ’Ž Rules πŸ’Ž

Postby rainbowpanda101 » Sat Jun 01, 2024 7:30 pm

▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁

GENERAL

β€’ Players may save their Beasts to their own Oekaki galleries but may not alter the design in any way.

...- Small accessories that do not cover a large portion of a Beast may be added by Players.
.....For examples: jewelry, cloth tied around an ankle, belts with vials/potions, etc.

β€’ Please be respectful to everyone. Begging, bribery, whining, bullying, and harassment will not be tolerated here.

β€’ Do not spam or double post. Take all chats to private messages. Saying "mark" is allowed, but please do so only once.

β€’ Do not mini-mod. Please let the owner or moderators handle any misbehavior or answer any questions posted.

β€’ Do not steal. The owner will not hesitate to report Players if they are caught stealing.

β€’ A single Beast may not be owned by more than one person at a time. This is to help deter drama among Players.

β€’ Beasts may be showcased on other websites but must always be credited properly.

...- Please credit the lines to medimedes/rainbowpanda101 and the design to the artist who made it.

...- If posting to another website, such as toyhouse or deviantart, always link back to the main thread.

ADOPTS, TRADES, & GIFTS

β€’ Players can own an unlimited number of Beasts but should allow others to adopt if they have quite a few already.

β€’ Beasts can be sold, traded, or gifted. There are no restrictions on what Beasts can be sold or traded for.

β€’ Players must post an update in the original thread of a Beast for a sale/trade/gift of that Beast to be valid.

...- The update needs to be posted by the current owner, indicating that they are passing ownership on to another Player.

...- If a Player neglects to do this, the sale/trade/gift will not be official and may cause issues later.

    * Important Note * Make sure the update is on the first, original thread of the Beast, not one in another Player's gallery.

β€’ All items related to Ey’la Dobren may be sold, traded, or gifted without restrictions.

...- When selling/trading/gifting an item, the current owner of the item must post an ownership update in the Shop thread.

...- If a Player neglects to do this, the sale/trade/gift will not be official and may cause issues later.

β€’ Players may hold re-adoption competitions to adopt out any Beasts they own, any time after receiving them.

...- Once a winner is chosen, the owner needs to post an update stating that they are passing ownership.

β€’ While Players are welcome to sell their Beasts, DO NOT use the species as a means to make a profit.

...- This means adopting and then immediately selling for any kind of currency in order to make money (real or online).

...- Players caught doing this regularly will be permanently banned from the game.

...- We put a lot of hard work into creating this and do not want other people profiting off of us. Thank you.

BEASTS AS CHARACTERS

β€’ Players are allowed to give their Beasts any personalities, gender identity, sexualities, or other characteristics.

...- However, anything that could be classified as NSFW, offensive, or not child-friendly should not be posted.
.....Players will be asked to remove such details on their Beasts if they are too readily available to the public.

β€’ Alternate Universes (AU) are allowed and encouraged. Please respect the AU of others if they choose to go this route.

β€’ Owners may roleplay their Beasts in any manner they please. Feel free to do so here on CS or other sites!

...- However, any roleplays that could be classified as NSFW, offensive, or not child-friendly shouldn't be posted at all.

β€’ Beasts cannot be fursonas. Please do not ask to make any of our Beasts a fursona.

BREEDING BEASTS

β€’ Players may post one "Breeding Request" form per Nursery opening, whether it be Individual or Partners.

β€’ A single Beast can only breed once per Nursery opening.

...- There are no restrictions on how many times a Beast can breed in total.

β€’ Only Beasts of the same species can breed together. There are no possibilities of cross-species breeding here.

...- This means only Dragons with Dragons, Gryffins with Gryffins, & Unicorns with Unicorns.

β€’ Beasts that are too closely related cannot be bred together. Please check the family trees of your Beasts.

β€’ Each breeding will produce 1 offspring. Ownership of the offspring goes to whoever posts the "Breeding Request" form.

β€’ Offspring cannot be bred until 1 month after they have been posted.

β€’ When requesting a breeding, the Beasts being bred must be owned by the Players/Partners requesting the breeding.

β€’ Partner breeding requires the "Breeding Request - Partners" form AND the "Breeding Permission" form both be posted.

...- If the "Breeding Permission" form is not posted before the Nursery closes, the request will be voided and skipped.

β€’ Players can only advertise for a breeding Partner once per page in the Nursery.

...- Please take all breeding Partner discussions to private message or the Discord.

MYO BEASTS

β€’ Make Your Own (MYO) Beasts are only available through events and the use of MYO Vouchers.

β€’ The designs of Beasts may not be based off reference images or pre-existing characters of any sort.

...- This includes any and all characters from all forms of media (literature, movies, etc.) as well as original characters.

β€’ There are no restrictions on how many MYO Beasts a person can own.

RULE BREAKING

β€’ Any minor rule breaking will earn Players strikes. Each minor offense will earn a Player one strike.
β€’ Strikes remain for 31 days and will be erased once the 31 days are up.

β€’ Beasts will never be forcefully taken from a Player, even if they are banned for breaking the rules.
β€’ Once a Beast is in someone's possession, it stays there until they decide to sell, trade, or gift it away.

β€’ If a Player receives 3 strikes in a single month, they will be temporarily banned for no less than 3 months.
β€’ This means they will not be able to adopt Beasts, use MYO Vouchers, or participate in events for 3 months.
β€’ They will still be able to sell, trade, or gift any Beasts already in their possession at the time of the ban.

β€’ If a Player is caught stealing (be it Beasts owned by others, a prompt entry, etc.) they will be permanently banned.
β€’ This means they will not be able to adopt Beasts, use MYO Vouchers, or participate in events ever again.
β€’ They will still be able to sell, trade, or gift any Beasts already in their possession at the time of the ban.

β€’ If a Player is caught adopting Beasts to make a profit on a regular basis, they will be permanently banned.
β€’ This means they will not be able to adopt Beasts, use MYO Vouchers, or participate in events ever again.
β€’ They will still be able to sell, trade, or gift any Beasts already in their possession at the time of the ban.

xxxThe three species that can be found available for adoption in Ey'la Dobren are dragons, gryffins, and unicorns. These three are known as the Greater Beasts. All three are highly intelligent, capable of speech, and have their own cultures and customs, which can differ depending on the location and local history of the species. Dragons, gryffins, and unicorns are known for befriending other species. While each of these Greater Beasts have certain habitats they frequent, it is not uncommon to find them elsewhere throughout Ey'la Dobren. Relocation can occur for any number of reasons, from wanting to stay with friends of a different species or a basic love for travel.

xxxDragons, gryffins, and unicorns are not the only species on Ey'la Dobren. Intelligent hominid species (such as humans, elves, centaurs, dwarves, goblins, etc.) can be found on all six continents and have formed the vast network of roads and ports that lead to the various cities, towns, and villages scattered all over. Animals that are incapable of speech, known as Lesser Beasts, also inhabit all ecosystems of Ey'la Dobren. These include various species of mammals, birds, reptiles, amphibians, fish, and insects, both on land and in the sea.

xxxDragons are the least prevalent of the three Greater Beasts seen around Ey'la Dobren. They can typically be found living inside vast caves in the mountains of Edilia. However, this does not mean that dragons can only be found in the mountains. If befriended by other species, dragons are willing to move out of the mountains and can be found elsewhere, such as hominid cities.

xxxThese Greater Beasts can vary greatly in size. They range from only six feet to over three hundred feet from snout to tail-tip. Features of dragons may also differ from one individual to another. It it not uncommon to see various styles of ears, horns, frills, spikes, spines, whiskers, tails, etc. Some dragons may lack wings. Others may only have two legs. Dragons also have the ability to harness different types of elemental magic, including (but not limited to) fire, water, earth, and air. However, it is typical for an individual to be more gifted in one element and less so in others.

xxxThe colors and patterns of dragons are nearly limitless. Their palettes tend to be monochromatic (with different shades of a single color) or complementary (with three to five colors that look pleasant together). Patterns are not usually located on their scaled bodies but instead seen on extremities or features such as their belly scales, horns, frills, spikes, spines, wing membranes, etc. There are many different kinds of patterns that can be seen on dragons, from all sorts of stripes, spots, patches, and even mixtures of all three. While patterns are not usually shown on their scaled bodies, dragons can have gradients of color on their bodies that change from head to tail or show up as patches of soft gradients that may give them an iridescent look.

GRYFFINS

xxxGryffins are the second most common of the Greater Beasts seen around Ey'la Dobren. They can typically be found close to rivers and lakes, as their diet mainly consists of freshwater fish. It isn't all that uncommon to find them migrating to nearby ocean coastlines on occasion, not only for a change in scenery but also to not overfish their usual fishing grounds.

xxxSimilar to dragons, gryffins can be seen in an array of sizes, depending on the species that make up their two halves. The front half is always some type of bird. The back half is always some type of cat, either domestic or wild. For example, a raven bobcat gryffin will be smaller than an eagle tiger gryffin, since ravens are smaller than eagles and bobcats are smaller than tigers. Gryffins whose bird and cat halves are greatly different in size may lean either way. For example, a cardinal leopard might be on the smaller side because of the cardinal half, or on the larger side because of the leopard half.

xxxThe colors, patterns, and features of gryffins may also depend on what animals make up their two halves. For example, the colors and pattern of the front of a half-peacock gryffin will look quite different from the colors and pattern of the front of a half-parakeet gryffin. Features that can vary are the beaks, the head feathers, and the tails. Some gryffins may also lack claws altogether or gain additional back claws. For example, a raven bobcat gryffin might have a black front half with a sleek head that has no head feathers, and a gray and brown back half with a stubby tail. Not all gryffins will 100% adhere to this rule. For example, head feathers might be seen on a gryffin whose bird half doesn't actually have head feathers at all.

UNICORNS

xxx
xxxUnicorns are the most common Greater Beast seen around Ey'la Dobren. They can be found roaming around in small to large herds in both forests and plains on all six continents. Unlike dragons and gryffins, which are both carnivores, unicorns are strictly vegetarian and will eat many forms of vegetation, from grass and leaves to fruits and vegetables. They are typically a very open and friendly species.

xxxThese beasts have the least amount of size variation of the three Greater Beasts. Unicorns, much like horses, are measured from the top of their withers rather than the top of their heads. The most common height of unicorns is around five feet, but they can be anywhere between four and six feet. Features that may differ on unicorns are their manes, tails, horns, beards, and the feathery fur around their hooves, which are always cloven. Their tails can be similar to a horse's tail, with a short dock and a skirt of long hair, or be thick and muscular with a tuft of hair on the end.

xxxColors of unicorns can vary between what we would consider more natural colors (like white, brown, or black) to less natural colors (like bright orange, yellow, or green) or even a mixture of the two. Gradients of colors across the body or extremities are not uncommon. Body markings seen on horses are highly common on unicorns, such as tobiano, splash, spotted blanket, grease spots, brindling, etc. White facial and leg markings seen on horses are also common, such as stars, snips, blazes, coronets, pasterns, stockings, etc. Stripes like those seen on zebras are also common patterns on unicorns.

MAP OF EY'LA DOBREN

Click HERE for a larger version!

Image
map created on Inkarnate

IMPORTANT NOTES

Pronunciation

Certain place names might seem a little peculiar! For example, the capital city of Edilia is listed as Yue'lin.
The inclusion of the apostrophe indicates that the sound before it is elongated for a second or two.
Instead of saying it fast and short like you-lin, the correct pronunciation would be yoooo-lin!
Other examples include Hym'thal, pronounced like himmmm-thawl rather than him-thawl
and Rui'brok, pronounced like roooo-brock rather than roo-brock! Hopefully that makes sense!

Red Highlighted Names

Any place labeled with a red name below will have their names decided by the community.

πŸ’Ž Ey'la Dobren πŸ’Ž FAQ πŸ’Ž

▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁

GENERAL

Q: Can I be an artist or moderator?
A: Ey'la Dobren is going to need artists and moderators. To try out to be an artist, go to the artist search HERE. (URL will be added once an artist search is made.) If you'd like to help out and be a moderator, private message rainbowpanda101.

    Q: What are Gems? πŸ’Ž
A: Gems are Ey'la Dobren-specific currency that can be earned or won during events. They are only good for purchasing items in the Shop. Items purchased with Gems are put into the Treasury for later use. Gem amounts are tracked in the Treasury, as well.

Q: Can I edit my Beasts?
A: If an artist adds a Player to the Oekaki of a Beast, the Player may not alter the design of the Beast in any way. Only small accessories that do not cover a large portion of a Beast may be added by Players. For example, jewelry such as necklaces/earrings/rings/bracelets, a cloth tied around an ankle, belts with vials/potions attached, etc. Players are also allowed to save transparent/separate images of their Beasts or save their Beasts to their own Oekaki galleries if they wish.

    Q: Can Beasts be co-owned?
A: Co-ownership is when 2 different Players "own" a Beast together. This is not allowed in Ey'la Dobren. This rule is in place to deter drama among Players. Please do not share ownership.

Q: Is there a fan club for Ey'la Dobren?
A: A Fanclub thread will be posted for Ey'la Dobren eventually. Please do not post a Fanclub for us, as we will be posting one at a later date when we're ready for it.

Q: How do I gain access to the Discord?
A: At the moment, we do not have a Discord set up for Ey'la Dobren. Once one has been established, all you will need to do to gain access is click the Discord link in the navigation list on the top of the main thread. If you join our Discord, you must be 13 years or older (per Discord's rules) and set your username to match your Chickensmoothie username. This is to make it easier for Ey'la Dobren staff to monitor the Discord.

Q: I have a question that I don't want to ask in public. What should I do?
A: If you have a question related to Ey'la Dobren that you don't want to post publicly, you are welcome to private message rainbowpanda101 on Chickensmoothie at any time. Her PMs are always open, and she checks them quite often so you will probably get a response within 1 to 3 days. However, if you do not get a response within 3 days, send your message again.

ADOPTION

Q: How much is it to adopt a Beast?
A: Regularly released Beasts put up for adoption will be both free to adopt and auctioned. Free to adopt Beasts will be adopted out via various kinds of competitions, such as first come, first serve or prompt answering. Just follow the directions in the first post of an available Beast to try out for it. Beasts that are auctioned will be available for C$ and have a starting bid of 10 C$. Auto-buy prices will be decided by the designing artist.

Q: How often can I adopt Beasts?
A: Right now, there is no limit to how often Players can adopt Beasts. Please allow others a chance to adopt if you have quite a few already. If the Ey'la Dobren staff notice certain people are adopting too often, a monthly adoption limit will be added.

Q: How many Beasts can I own in total?
A: Right now, there is no limit to how many Beasts Players can own. Please allow others a chance to adopt if you have quite a few already. If the Ey'la Dobren staff notice certain people are adopting too many, a monthly adoption limit will be added.

Q: What should I do if a Beast for adoption hasn't been judged yet?
A: If an Ey'la Dobren artist hasn't judged an adoptable Beast within 2 weeks of the end date of the adoption, please contact rainbowpanda101 via private message. She will contact the artist and remind them to judge the Beast. The artist will have 2 weeks from then to finish judging the adopt. If they do not, rainbowpanda101 will step in and award a winner instead.

CUSTOMS

Q: Can we get custom Beasts?
A: Yes! However, Players need to obtain a MYO Voucher in order to make a custom or request someone else to make one. MYO Vouchers can be found for sale in the Shop or won during events. There may also occasionally be free MYO events, where Players will be able to make a Beast for free. Please read more about customs in the Custom thread found HERE (URL will be added later), as there is too much information to put here in the FAQ.

BREEDING

Q: Can we breed our Beasts?
A: Yes! Players can breed two of their own Beasts together or partner up with someone else to breed a Beast with theirs. Please read more about breeding in the Nursery thread found HERE (URL will be added later), as there is too much information to put here in the FAQ.

Q: Can I breed two different Beast species together?
A: No. Cross species breeding is not offered in Ey'la Dobren. For example, Players cannot breed a dragon with a gryffin or a unicorn. Players may breed dragons with dragons, gryffins with gryffins, and unicorns with unicorns.

Q: Can only male and female Beasts breed together?
A: As these Beasts are fantasy-based species, Beasts of the same species may breed together and produce offspring as long as they are not closely related. Players may give their Beasts any personalities, gender identities, sexualities, or other identity characteristics that they want.

Q: I'm looking for a breeding partner! Am I allowed to advertise that I am?
A: Yes! Players can advertise for a breeding partner once per page in the Nursery (URL will be added later) or in the Discord (when it is open). Please take all breeding partner discussions to private message. Partner discussions in any of the threads or open Discord channels will be considered spam.

SALES/TRADES/GIFTS

Q: Can I sell/trade/gift my Beasts with others?
A: Yes! Players can sell, trade, or gift their Beasts. There are no restrictions on what Beasts can be traded or sold for. Trade for other Beasts, for art, other species that allow trading, etc. Sell for C$ or other game currencies, USD or other real world currencies, etc. For a sale/trade/gift to be made official, the owner of the Beast must post an ownership update in the original Oekaki thread of the Beast being sold/traded/gifted. If a Player neglects to do this, the sale/trade/gift will not be official and may cause issues later.

Q: Can I do a re-adopt competition for my Beasts?
A: Yes! Re-adoption competitions are another way to get rid of any Beasts Players no longer want. Re-adoptions are considered gifts. The owner of the Beast must post an ownership update in the original Oekaki thread of the Beast being re-adopted. If a Player neglects to do this, the gift will not be official and may cause issues later.

Q: What if I don't want my Beasts and don't want to sell/trade/gift/re-adopt it?
A: If none of the available options appeal to you, you can private message rainbowpanda101 and request your Beasts be put back up for adoption without your input.

Q: Can I sell/trade/gift my items with others?
A: Yes! Players can sell, trade, or gift any Ey'la Dobren-related items. There are no restrictions on what items can be traded or sold for. Trade items for Beasts or art or CS pets. Sell items for C$, other game currencies, USD or other real world currencies, etc. The owner of the item must post an ownership update for the item in the Shop thread. If a Player neglects to do this, the sale/trade/gift will not be official and may cause issues later.

Q: What happens if I don't post ownership updates on Beasts or items?
A: If you do not update the ownership of a Beast or item after a sale/trade/gift has been completed, records will show the wrong owner for the Beast or item. If the new owner attempts to breed a Beast without the original Oekaki thread being updated, their breeding request will be denied because the thread does not list them as the owner. If someone tries to use an item from the Treasury and haven't had the item transferred to their Treasury account yet, they will not be able to use the item. Make sure to always post updates as soon as possible after completing a sale/trade/gift!

Q: What can I do if the original owner didn't update a sale/trade/gift for me?
A: If you were sold/traded/gifted a Beast or item, but the owner has not updated ownership within 2 weeks of the payment or the trade/gift agreement, please contact rainbowpanda101 with proof of the payment or trade/gift agreement so that she may post an ownership update herself.

COPPA PLAYERS
*** PLEASE READ IF YOU ARE COPPA ***

Q: What if I'm COPPA and want to adopt Beasts up for adoption?
A: COPPA posts do not appear in the Oekaki section of the forums until a moderator checks them. To allow COPPA Players a chance at winning Beasts, all FCFS Beasts will not be awarded to a winner until at least 24 hours after they are posted. If a COPPA Player post ends up being the first post, that Player will be awarded the Beast. If a COPPA post does not appear within that time, the Beast will be awarded to the Player whose post is seen as first. If a COPPA Player's post appears after a Beast has already been awarded to another Player, the winning decision will not be reversed.

All other types of competitions for Beasts should be no problem for COPPA Players to join, as their end dates typically give ample time for COPPA posts to appear. However, to be fair to COPPA Players who may have posted towards the end of a competition, all competitions will not be judged until at least 48 hours after the artist has closed them. This should be plenty of time for COPPA entries to appear before the artist starts to judge the entries.

IMPORTANT NOTE: COPPA Players may bid on Beasts up for auction but should do so at their own discretion. If a Beast up for auction is awarded to someone else because a COPPA post did not appear in time, the winning decision will not be reversed. Keep this in mind if you are COPPA and want to bid on a Beast up for auction.

Q: What if I'm COPPA and want to participate in Ey'la Dobren events?
A: Unfortunately, events are timed and will only last a few days to a week when open. Game results will be posted daily during events, so if a COPPA Player's post doesn't appear in time for the prize roll then they will miss out on that day. Whether a staff member who is running a game is willing to go back and look for missed COPPA posts later to add their rolls will be up to each individual staff member participating in an event.

If you are a COPPA Player, please keep these notes in mind if you want to participate in Ey'la Dobren.
Do not whine, beg, try to bribe, or otherwise make artists or staff feel bad for your posts not appearing in time.
Any COPPA Players found doing so will be given strikes and possibly banned from the species. Thank you.
