This is an ooc breeding, but here is a little bit about each cat!
Cat 1 is Tangerine’Twist! A warrior of Saguaro’Clan! She joined the clan shortly after they migrated to Arizona, joining them in their refuge for a camp! When they found a place, she was one of the main cats to contribute to innovative ideas on den structures and bedding materials. She is also characterized by her stunning looks and swift thinking!
Cat 2 is Lupine’Tooth, a thegn of Zenith! He has been with Zenith since it’s early stages, for the clan is only 3 generations old at this time. When someone is in need for some muscle, Lupine’Tooth is one of the first cats that come to mind to ask for help! Despite his bulky and rough looks, he is genuinely a kind cat and is willing to put himself infront of danger if it means helping another cat out.
I plan on having this kit reside in Zenith!

Citrusmist and Fogtrail, two elders residing in Moonclan, divorced.

Long ago, when they were younger, (this breeding would be. long ago in lore lmao), they thought they were in love. Fogtrail, ever the wanderer at heart, had just left a tribe of cats that he stayed with for a while, and met the dashing young loner called Citrus. He saved them from a hungry fox, and the two quickly became mates. They were all each other had for many moons, and despite their differences, they tried to make it work. They had a kit (this one) unexpectedly, and Fogtrail was unprepared for fatherhood but willing to try. He did genuinely love Citrus. The tortie in question, however, was far from prepared for the commitment of having a child. When the kit was about six moons old, and their affinity revealed itself (not that either had much context for their shared, weird magic at the time), Citrus and Fogtrail hit a breaking point in their relationship. They had a fight, bigger and louder than their usual ones, Citrus blaming Fogtrail over things that weren't really his fault and Fogtrail saying some awful things in his hurt. Citrus ran off, taking the kitten with them, after spewing some bitter and maybe-true words about how they had never loved him, and they had no intentions of raising a child with him.

Many, many moons later, after Fogtrail settled down in Moonclan, a new cat showed up during a patrol- a much older Citrus with their now adult child in tow. The newly named Citrusmist took up residence in the Elder's den with Fogtrail. Citrusmist seems unaffected, treating Fogtrail as barely more than an acquaintance, polite and controlled. Fogtrail never quite gave up looking for her and their kit, and is having a much harder time seeing them both again. He would love to be a father again, even if their kit doesn't really need him anymore.

"Goldmarsh will be furious if she knew I was hanging around one of you clan-scum!" Battalion hissed against the golden tabby's ear, his too-close, too-warm ear. They were so close, confined to each other's personal bubbles in the claustrophobic tunnels that led from the coves to the plain-flats. Tigerbelly didn't seem to mind, though. In fact, he chuckled at his companion's worry.

"So, don't tell Goldmarsh, silly. What she doesn't know can't hurt her."

Battalion highly doubted that. Goldmarsh was a fierce enemy and a fiercer friend. As a member of her crew, Battalion was not meant to have any contact with the rebel group that dubbed themselves "WhistlingClan." They were - in her words - 'a snivelling bunch of leech-infested idiots', and that should've included the tom-cat next to him but Tigerbelly... Tigerbelly wasn't snivelling or leech-invested or an idiot. Tigerbelly was clever and strong and stubborn, oh, Others be good, he was stubborn.

"Besides, we're here now, so just enjoy it." The too-closeness vanished as Tigerbelly led him into a wide crevasse. The sky opened up above their heads, the moonlight filtering in to illuminate a thousand glittering stars in a pool a fox-tail away from their paws.

"What..... what is it?" Battalion murmured breathlessly. "Are those stars down there?"

Tigerbelly grinned. "Not quite. They're pearls, tons of em. Years before I was born, cats used to crack open their oysters over this very pool and wash out the saltwater. Sometimes, a pearl would slip and sink to the bottom. Now, they're all down there beyond our reach but when the moon hits them just right -"

"They glow." Battalion finished for him, his eyes glued to the star-pearls in the pool.

"I thought you'd like it." Tigerbelly mewed softly. His closeness was back, but this time, Battalion didn't mind at all. Goldmarsh had never shown him the stars suspended right next to his paws. Goldmarsh could eat a rotten fish for all he cared right now. A golden head ducked beneath his eye-line for the briefest moment and Battalion felt a tongue rasp over his cheek. Tigerbelly's tongue, a quiet kiss in the dark next to the stars. It was cloistered and small and so, so, so treasonous, but for that star-filled moment... it was theirs to share.

“Dear?” Clementine-paws turns to the doorway of the childcare center, finding her spouse standing there with a confused glance. “It’s well past time for the Khrivrr to have gone home.”

“Oh, I know,” she says, a soft sigh leaving her. Carefully, Feather-fog approaches their wife and look at what she’s holding: a piece of paper, scribbled all over in crayon. It’s a poor drawing of Clementine-paws, with the words “Thank you Mrrea Clementine-paws!” misspelled in messy handwriting.

“I know you don’t particularly like children, but I wish we had some of our own…” Clementine-paws murmurs wistfully. Feather-fog blinks, taking in what she’s said. It’s true that in their youth, the two had a discussion about having children, and Clementine-paws had accepted Feather-fog’s position on not having any themselves. She’d said she wouldn’t mind just caring for the children she came across like her own anyways, and she’s done a wonderful job of proving it. Since then, they hadn’t spoken about it.

But now it clearly weighs on her. Feather-fog knows that if they shut her down, she’d accept it and be alright. But… truly thinking about it, they find that the repulsion and fear they’d felt as a young lad towards becoming a parent has left them.

They sit next to her, resting their tail over her back, and nudge her cheek with their nose. “Hey, I know what I said when we were young. But… I think my opinion’s changed since then. Well, not too much, I suppose— I don’t see myself hanging around the childcare center for fun any time soon. But if it was with you, I don’t think I’d mind raising a child.”

The swiftness with which Clementine-paws turns her head to look at them is impressive. “Are you sure? You don’t have to say that just because you think it’ll make me happy.”

“I’m not, love, I promise. We’ve had decades to grow since then. I used to be scared of the commitment and terrified I’d mess it up, plus all the less than ideal parts were all I saw. But watching you with kids all these years, it’s… it’s just different, now. You’re such a wonderful mother, and I’m sure you can help me figure it out. Maybe we keep it to only one, thou—“ Clementine-paws cuts them off by throwing herself at them, hugging them close and rambling excitedly. They can’t quite make out everything she’s saying, but they know she’s happy, and they allow themself a little laughter.

Feather-fog can’t help feeling a little apprehensive still, but they always hear Clementine-paws tell expecting parents that’s normal. They’re sure they’ll be able to figure it out.
