under the gentle whorl and dance of falling snow, soft laughter blooms. a lilting melody, so tangible, that you could trace it to its source. through the heights of the evergreens, the footfalls of the alpines, the moss-kissed stones, and… you find it.

warmth unfurls from every corner of the tiny wooden structure, an aurelian glow glazing the windows and smoke curling from a stone chimney in loose rings. music and soft laughter intwine, echoing from within. a sign hangs on the door, etched with cursive engravings: “✦✦ welcome to the catcafe! join us and celebrate five years of catvent together! ✦✦”

to the clink of a bell, the door opens. a swath of indigo silks and cinnamon curls spills out, along with the fragrance of fresh bread and hot cocoa. brushing the bangs from their eyes, a shy smile blooms on the feline’s features.

“i'm agate.” they nudge the door open wider. “would… would you like to join us?”

✦ how to join us:
starting december 1st, a prompt will be posted at 0:00 cs rollover every day*! like last year, you’re welcome to write and/or draw for these prompts (whichever you’re most comfy with)! released prompts will either be short, medium or long prompts—answering them on-time will earn you a stamp for your “catcafe rewards card” and the opportunity to earn coupons! at the end of catvent, these can be traded-in at our catcafe event shop for prizes.

our catcafe calender (above post) provides an outlook on what type (short/medium/long) of prompts will be released and when we’re having special-releases! during special-release days, a cafe-themed adopt is released by one of our lovely artists and no prompts will be released. enjoy the a lil break from answering prompts!

complete details will be released when the catcafe event shop officially opens (when catvent ends)! there will be c/uc/r items available for trade-in c; for now, we recommend collecting as many stamps & coupons as you can!

✦ catcafe rewards card & stamps:
for every prompt you answer, you'll receive +1 stamp for your catcafe rewards card! please make sure to answer your prompts before the cafe closes (at 0:00 cs rollover) as late entries won’t be counted ^^

✦ coupons:
coupons are awarded randomly (rolled on discord) to a few users who participate on medium prompts days and all users have an opportunity to earn coupons on longer prompts days. these can be traded-in for extra prizes when our event shop opens!

✦ special-releases:
on special release days, a cafe-themed adopt will be released by one of our lovely artists! these will be raffled off to users who participated in at least three catvent prompts within the last week. when the special release has been posted, make sure to link three prompts you've completed during the last week on the cat's oekaki page to enter! linking more than three completed prompts in a week won't grant you more ‘entries’ into the raffle; all users will just receive just one ‘entry’ for weekly special releases.*

if you’d like to enter for the:
» dec 8th special release → link three completed catvent prompts from dec 1st-dec 7th (cs time).
» dec 15th special release → link three completed catvent prompts from dec 9th-dec 14th (cs time).
» dec 22nd special release → link three completed catvent prompts from dec 16th-dec 21st (cs time).
» dec 25th special release → * for this release, staff will calculate how many catvent prompts you’ve completed and that’ll be how many 'raffle entries' you have! dw about linking prompts for this one; staff will roll + take care of that for you! c:

✦ xp earnings:
as always, xp will be awarded for everyone who participate in prompts! xp can be used to level-up in explore to receive additional rewards! short prompts will award all participants +10xp each. medium prompts and longer prompts will award xp according to our word xp conversion scale (link) and/or our art scale (link).

total xp earnings will be officially released at the end of the event!

✦ when does a ‘catvent day’ end?
all catvent prompts will reset at cs rollover! for example, day one of catvent will end on cs rollover (when it switches from dec 1st → 2nd). at this point, a new prompt will be posted! make sure to get your response in before the cafe closes as late entries won’t be counted ^^

✦ is there a minimum/maximum word count or amount of art i have to reach for each type of prompt (short/medium/long)?
not at all! as long as you answer the prompt (before rollover), you’ll earn a stamp! it doesn’t matter how much writing/art you do (even if it’s a longer prompt)! that said, when long prompts are released, investing more effort in writing/drawing will grant you a higher chance of earning a coupon c: if you’re not interested in that, you're welcome to write a short response and you’ll still receive your daily stamp dw!

the short/medium/long indicators are also useful if you’re looking to earn more xp and would like to pace yourself! medium and long prompts award xp according to how much you write/create art, while short prompts provide a base +10xp regardless of how much you write/draw.

✦ i’d love to answer the prompts and develop my clan, but i don't own any cats. may i still participate?
of course, we’d love to have you! feel free to use our npcs ━ many already have personalities/lore, but you’re free to adapt them to fit the prompt ^^

✦ oh no! i forgot to add my username/id/clan link/word count/etc in my prompt form! can i go ahead and edit it?
if rollover has already passed → dw about it! your entry will still be valid as long as you don’t edit your post ^^
if it has not rollover-ed to the next day → you’re welcome to do so!

✦ are stamps awarded during special release (no prompt) days?
since there isn’t really a prompt to answer, no stamps are awarded for special release days! enjoy the special release & the little break instead! c;

✦ some aspect of the prompt (like the weather/etc) doesn't fit my clan's lore/setting. would i be able to interpret it in 'x' way instead?
absolutely! feel free to adapt any of the prompts to fit your lore/setting! as long as the response is somewhat related/relevant to the prompt, that’s perfectly okay! <3

✦ i think there’s a mistake in the catcafe rewards card. who should i contact?
