Puddles walks up to the front of the class. A silver bucket hangs from their shoulder wings, an easy way for him to actually carry objects. He can’t exactly grip things with the way his hands are… at least not with much precision and grace. They sit down at the front and place the bucket on the floor next to him. He reaches inside and pulls out his “robot.” What. The. Heck. Is. That? Unceremoniously Puddles sets down his poor excuse for a robot. It’s a rock… with googly eyes glued on. There’s a single piece of actual technology on it, a little antennae stuck on the top. What has Puddles been doing this whole time? Does he even understand the purpose of this class?
He clears his throat and begins his presentation. “This is the rockinator one million.” He says with a happy smile. The class exchanges bewildered glances, struggling to comprehend what they're witnessing. Puddles seems entirely earnest, his eyes gleaming with pride as he gestures towards the rockinator one million.
"It may not look like much, but let me assure you, it's a groundbreaking invention," Puddles declares, his tone serious despite the comical appearance of the rock. Puddles continues, ignoring the stifled laughter spreading through the classroom. "Its primary function is to... well, be a rock."
Puddles pauses, as if expecting a round of applause for his groundbreaking revelation. Instead, he is met with a mix of confused expressions and muffled laughter. Undeterred, he lifts the rock with both hands, displaying it proudly.
"Now, you might be wondering, 'Puddles, why would anyone need a robot that's just a rock?' Well, the answer is simple." Puddles leans in conspiratorially, as if about to reveal a grand secret. "Sometimes, in life, you just need a reliable rock. And that's where the Rockinator One Million comes in handy!"
“Need a friend. Rock. Need a snack. Rock. need… uh well that’s really all you need in life. Snacks and friends.” They giggle. The class is now in stitches, unable to contain their laughter at Puddles' peculiar presentation. They can't help but burst into laughter at Puddles' simplistic view of life's necessities. What is up with this chicoon? He sure is something. Puddles, however, remains unfazed by the amused reactions. They continue with an air of confidence, determined to convince everyone of the rock's extraordinary capabilities.
“One of the main features of the rockinator one million is the eyes. They’re the window to the soul or something like that. The eyes make the rockinator one million possible. Without them you just have a normal rock. Don’t get me wrong, normal rocks are great, but this is all about making great even better.” Puddles looks around the room, nodding as if he's just shared the most profound insight. They wait for a few moments before continuing their absurd presentation.
"But wait, there's more!" Puddles exclaims, dramatically lowering their voice again. "The Rockinator One Million has a state-of-the-art antennae!" He points to the tiny, wobbly antenna on top of the rock, as if it's the pinnacle of technological achievement.
The professor struggles to maintain a straight face as they listen to Puddles' explanation. They decide to play along, eager to see where this absurd presentation is headed. "And what, pray tell, does the antennae do, Puddles?" they ask, trying to keep their voice steady.
Puddles grins widely, delighted that someone is taking his invention seriously. "Well, the antennae... it receives signals from the rock universe!" They pause for dramatic effect, scanning the faces of his classmates for any sign of skepticism.
"The rock universe?" someone whispers incredulously, prompting a fresh wave of laughter.
"Yes, the rock universe!" Puddles insists, undeterred. "You see, rocks have their own language, their own way of communicating. The antennae lets the rockinator one million do that even better! It’ll be the most talkative rock ever! It sends out vibes to let the rock know it's loved. It loves you and hopefully you love it. The more you love the rockinator one million the more it loves you and the happier it will be! The key to a happy rock is love."
A student in the back raises their hand, barely able to get the question out through fits of laughter. "But Puddles, isn't it just a rock with googly eyes? How does it communicate?"
Puddles grins, "Ah, that's where the magic happens! You just have to believe in the power of friendship, and the Rockinator One Million will understand. It's all about positive energy and good vibes!" He pauses for dramatic effect, nodding sagely as if he just dropped a profound truth bomb.
The professor, trying to stifle her laughter, nods solemnly. "Fascinating, Puddles. Please, continue."
Puddles beams with pride, happy that his creation is finally getting the recognition it deserves. "So, if you ever find yourself in need of advice, wisdom, or just a good old chat with a rock, the Rockinator One Million is here for you. It's the perfect companion for life's rocky moments!"
The class remains silent for a moment longer before erupting into a mix of laughter and applause. Puddles takes a bow, soaking in the attention. The professor, still trying to comprehend the situation, manages a weak smile.
As the class settles down, Puddles places the rockinator one million back into the silver bucket. "Thank you, thank you! I'll be taking orders for the rockinator two million soon." Puddles returns to his seat, completely oblivious to the amused and perplexed looks from his classmates.
And so, the legend of Puddles and the rockinator one million becomes a quirky tale passed down through the halls of the school, a story that would be retold with laughter for years to come. Puddles had unintentionally created a moment of comic relief that would be remembered and chuckled about for the rest of the school year. The legend of the Rockinator One Million and Puddles' unwavering belief in the power of a googly-eyed rock would become a cherished memory among the students. Little did they know, Puddles' eccentric approach to innovation would inspire some of them to think outside the box in their own endeavors.
