Error approaches the door to the robotics class yet again today. Dragging its claws with a loud scarping sound echoing through the hallway as it comes to a stop to read the notice pinned to the door. It narrows its glowing eyes to read it for a moment, a robotic grumble of annoyance deep in its throat. A small creak is head as a the small chicoon Peat opens the door to peer out at the giant robotic beast of a chicoon. Error sends a huff of hot air into his face and taps the notice on the door with a claw as if to ask what it meant. Peat explains that Mulch is busy today. He seems to have lost his shipment order of parts and is off looking for them. He manages to squeak out what Error should do today and is returned with another blast of heated breath as the chicoon sighs at him. It ignores the small little bug and decides to go look for the boxes of supplies itself. The glow of its eyes reflecting off the windows from showing the gloomy autumn air that has clouded over due to rain. Error stares at his reflection in the window for a short moment, wondering why it cared to do anything. A heavy shrug comes form its shoulders and it looms off down the hallway. It peers into dark classrooms as it opens random door to random door, not having any place in mind but perhaps the shipment had made its way to the wrong classroom. Someone as lost as it was may have taken it from the college mail room to some class room it thought the robotics lab was perhaps. As it climbs the stairs it is met with Mulch holding a heavy box of miscellaneous materials along with a trail of parts that have fallen from it down the hallway following his path. He seems to have found what he was looking for finally. He asks if Error could lend him a paw carrying the rest of the packages he left behind. Error gave a short nod and follows the trail of forgotten trinkets to where the rest of the boxes of metal and wires rested in their misplaced spot. It hoisted the last of the boxes onto it's back and made its way after Mulch's trail. It pushed open the robotics class door where Mulch and Peat seem to be discussing how to get the rest of the packages as Error with a thud drops the boxes in front of them. Peat jumps with a spook, but Mulch seems pleased enough to have his mail back. Error lets out a creaking groan from its throat as if to give some sort of "youre welcome". This seems to be enough of a job for it today though. It turns to leave the classroom. None of its "class mates" have seemed to turn up anyway. Why should it stay after doing a job. Mulch seemed thankful enough anyway so that was enough for it. Skipping class didnt sound like a bad way to spend the rest of the day anyway.

> PROMPT | Sara is confused by Mulch's absence from the classroom, and reads the notice curiously. She wonders what Mulch is looking for, and what the boxes of metal and wiring the note mentioned are for. They have not seen the boxes, but decide to keep an eye out for them, not that they are very confident they would even recognize them if they did happen to come across them. Wondering what to do now, Sara is relieved when Peat explains the day's assignment, sparing her from continuing to stand there awkwardly. After sitting at their desk, Sara takes out their notebook and a pencil, thinking about what to write. Making a robot yesterday had gone quite well in her opinion; she had learned a lot from Ascii about the basics and managed to create a robot. They had also gained a lot of confidence from the experience, and were now much less nervous about making a mistake. Once the robot crewmate had started to take shape, Sara had enjoyed working on it a lot.

So, she starts writing about what she had learned from Ascii and how she incorporated what she learned into building her robot. They include an explanation of how they made some adjustments to their ideas for the design based on the new things they learned and how it helped make their robot even better. Though she is rather embarrassed to admit it, even just on a piece of paper, she also mentions that she became much more confident about her ability to work with the materials and make something with them after making the robot. Sara concludes her assignment by saying they had fun and they are looking forward to making more robots in the future.

Now finished with the assignment, Sara walks over to Peat to turn it in. She hesitates for a moment afterwards, wondering what to do now. "Am I supposed to stay for the rest of class, or do I leave, or...?" When Peat does not respond, Sara suggests, "I guess I will go try to help Mulch then?" They are not sure where Mulch is, but they would rather spend the rest of the class's scheduled time searching for the boxes than sitting in the classroom doing nothing. Since Peat does not seem to have a problem with that, Sara sets out to look for the boxes of metal and wiring. Despite spending quite a while looking, Sara does not have much luck- though part of the problem is probably that she has no idea where they would be likely to be, so she is basically just wandering around campus looking for boxes- until it is time for her to go to her next class and she reluctantly has to give up on the search for the time being. Maybe they will find them later...
Despite everything,

Peach approaches class for her second day, with hopes for the new class period. Maybe today she will get to have more fun and experiment with the robotics. When being told she had to write for today, she hid a sigh of disappointment from Peat as she walked to her station and sat down. Writing was never he strongsuit and she disliked the idea of having to do it for a robotics class. She picked up a loose, stray piece of unused wire and bent it in her left paw while the right one picked up the pencil. She stared at her blank paper, not quite knowing what to write... It was hard to collect her thoughts from her attempt at building a robot.

She tapped the pencil on the desk as she thought. She will admit she thought it was chaotic, and that was her honest evaluation of it. She was hesitant to be so honest on her first day; what would Mulch or Peat think of it? Would it be professional? Would it get her a good grade? Maybe, honesty would write the best summary.

'It was pure chaos.' She began. 'I have no idea how to do any of this and I think it turned out obvious in my amalgamation of wires and metal that can barely function, let alone the fact that I don't even know how to code it. At all. But, it was a great start, I feel. I feel I was given the opportunity to see how different parts work together and to get the feel of how things move and interact.' Her left paw played with the unused wire, folding in and out and bending it into all sorts of shapes.

Peach stopped here. Her new friend had peered over her shoulder and giggled. "You're doing great, it wasn't that bad for your first day! Everybody starts somewhere."

"It was still chaotic, but it was funny. Y'know?" Peachy loves finding crazy things funny. She was a lighthearted soul and found the fun in most situations.

"Ohh I get it! It was funny! You couldn't tell the difference between any of the screws and then you ended up putting the head on the wrong end of the robot," Peachy's friend chuckled at her recollection of the events, which caused Peachy to do the same. She turned back to her paper and figured out how to finish her writing.

'It was great to be able to begin connecting with my classmates a bit closer through this activity, even though I had to make it a more exploratory activity as opposed to an actual project. I may get a bad grade on my wonky little robot,' Peachy looks over at the horrid creation she had come up with the day prior and gives it a soft smile, 'but he will mean a lot to me for quite a while. He's got quite the personality for such a little guy.' Peachy puts the pencil down and grins. She realized just how important and fun this class is going to be to her, and she was excited to begin. She gets up with her friend to turn in her work. [533 words.]

Stitchtrap pads up towards the robotics classroom door, pausing when he sees a note.

“Ah, Mulch isn’t here today.” He pauses glancing inside the classroom, only a few chicoons seem to be inside today, seems like most of the class decided to skip. Stitch shifts on his paws, and checks back on the note.

‘...write about how you think your first attempt at making a robot went…or you could leave,’

The chicoon pauses and considers for a second, “How my first attempt at making a robot went..” It definitely did not go well, the previous night Stitchtrap had attempted to build his grand robot idea. It had started with a circular disk and some small wheels, he had attempted to put it together with glue, he found a beginners tutorial on the internet about how to attach the wiring and circuitry. It took him a few hours to get it together, but once he attached it all he was feeling proud of himself. Unfortunately, he couldn't figure out how to make it fly, so he decided to leave it here for now.

“Alright, all I need to do is make it move…” Stitchtrap trailed off, and glanced over at his laptop. He opened it up and began to type, consistently opening up web browsers just to look for help. It felt like every line of code he had to look something up. Programming was a lot harder than it looks.

Several more hours passed and every time he went to test something nothing worked. It was an endless loop of testing it, it not working, he troubleshoots it, and so on. The chicoon was at his wits end, “Come on! I’ve got to have done it right this time!” He pressed start again and began to mess with the robot's controls, to his surprise the robot moved.

“WOAH!” Stitchtrap grins, “Oh heck yeah.” He tried to move it again, and it stopped, he frowned, “Come on…” The chicoon lightly tapped on his robot out of frustration. Every single piece collectively fell off of it, and it collapsed into a pile of parts. Stitchtrap threw his head down in frustration. He’d given up after that point, and resolved that maybe he just couldn’t build robots…

Back to the present, Stitchtrap stares at the note, “Yeah.. there’s no way I’m admitting to any of that.” The chicoon turns around and walks home for the day.

> PROMPT | lime decided to not leave class early, and instead focused on his assignment. the chicoon began writing about how he was purely experimenting on his first attempt - he wanted to figure out how things worked, and what he could and couldn’t logically do. there were a lot of bugs in his first prototype, and it certainly didn’t look like how he imagined it to be. however, it was in essence a first draft, and served as a proof of concept without fear of perfection. lime tried to put as much detail into his assignment as possible so he can look back on it after his robot is finished, and to hopefully be able to reference it for future projects if needed.
