Chicoon https://toyhou.se/14493087.poppet
Art/Writing: Many people cloud watch. Clouds form amazing shapes if you take the time to look and appreciate them. I much prefer to watch the constellations twinkling away. It takes me back to the time when I'd sit out under the night sky with my parents and gaze up at the many shapes in the sky!

Chicoon: Hexite
Art/Writing: Hexite bounced happily into the classroom. This was the course he was most excited about! He loved everything about space and the stars. When he was little, he had been told that he too had come from beyond the stars. Though he is not certain if that part is true or not. Either way, he is extatic about what he can learn from this course.

Picking up several crayons, Hexite began to scribble many colors all over the page. He explained how his favorite constellation was located in a very colorful star dust field. It was in the shape of a mushroom! Such a funky and unique constellation! He loved all the colors found in the area.

Chicoon: Hannibal
Art/Writing: Hannibal thinks back to the day he was created not too long ago. Looking up at the night sky. Seeing the stars twinkle in the darkness, though to him, the ones that stuck out the most were the ones that blinked back, much like the false eyes that cover his body. [51 words]

Chicoon: PatchWork
Art/Writing:
PatchWork shyly ambled towards the front of the class, and pinned their drawing on the magnetic whiteboard, before turning back to the chicoons waiting for them to give their presentation. They cleared their throat, and stood up straight… well… as much as they could, and gave a warm smile.

“The constellation I chose is the one named after a legend of a Chicoon named Nyxturne. While the humans know this constellation as ‘Draco’, the representative of the snake a goddess named Minerva hurled into the sky, or the dragon slain by a hero named Hercules; Nyxturne is know by a different story.” PatchWork paused to lazily point to the constellation for emphasis, before continuing

“Long ago, there was a chicoon by the name of Nyxturne. They belonged to a special little family in a small village who had the wondrous gift of glowing light radiating from their fur, though their’s was the brightest yet. Their family helped keep the village in order along side the council by aiding others as they did their tasks throughout the night, warding away the creatures that lurked in the dark.
But each night, as their family turned in after a long day of work, they’d stare out at the stars. Admiring them, observing them, longing to be with them. Each night they wished to join the stars above and look at the world below. But alas, Nyx knew it was a dream they wouldn’t grasp any time soon, so they distanced it from their heart over time.”
PatchWork then reaches over to the drawing, and turns it over, before putting it back on the board. It showed a large shadow mass that seemed to reach out to a chicoon shaped similarly to the constellation on the other side of the page. Xe faced back to the class before continuing.

“But one night, many years later, the village where they lived began to worry. Something had been wrong with the sky, and they weren’t sure why. The days were shorter, the clouds were nowhere in sight— yet the sky seemed dimmer and dimmer as more time passed. They were worried they had done something to upset the gods, and began to panic. This panic only grew as the sky showed more signs of unusual happenings, before one afternoon the sun was suddenly swallowed whole, casting the land in the darkest shadow they have ever seen. The village was thrown into chaos, as they scrambled into their homes, knowing the creatures that haunted them in the might would surely come for them now. Nyxturne’s family did the best they could to keep the creatures of the night away as they guarded the village, but with how dark it was, there was only so much they could do.
Terrified for the safety of their village, but more determined to keep them safe, Nyx placed themself in front of the looming horrors, puffed out their chest, and forced themself to glow the brightest they have ever been. They illuminated the clearing, and it seemed to drive the monsters away! But they knew they couldn’t hold it up for long. They continued to push them further and further into the forest they came from, as their family guided the others back into their homes where they would be safe. But when they finished and went to go find Nyx to assist them- they were gone.”
The plush chicoon paused once more, to let the story and emotion so far sink in, and build anticipation, before continuing in a more solemn voice.

“Not long after, the sky cleared, and it returned to being day. The family and some of the villagers set out to look for Nyx, yet their attempts were unfruitful. They grieved the loss of such a kind and fearless soul, before returning to the village to hold a small mourning ceremony in their honor.
But the next night, as the family finished their duties, one pointed out a new constellation seemingly joined the skies. It shone brighter than any other, as if trying only to grab their attention, before dimming down to normal. It oddly reminded them of their late relative, resembling their boundless spirit dancing among the stars with glee.
They took it as a blessing, realizing that surely the gods rewarded Nyxturne’s bravery and selflessness by immortalizing their spirit. So, they charted the new constellation and passed their story on for eons, hoping that as long as they kept their memory alive, the constellation would continue to dance among the stars happily; as it belonged, as it deserved.”

Day 1

(Came up with this on the spot in about an hour so excuse inconsistencies with chicoon lore and whatnot, sorry ^^;)

"Oh uh... well it's a little bit cheesy" Lapis laughs awkwardly, her wings folding back a little. She points up to a constellation and traces out the shape of the stars. It looks vaguely like a shark. "I think that the constellation over there is my favorite. It looks like a shark which reminds me a lot of my girlfriend. She has a tail that looks like that, I like to call her my little shark."

Vesta pulls up a map of the stars and starts outlining her constellation in a white marker, making it easy to see for the rest of the class. She smiles as she holds up her constellation, which is in the shape of... a small mouse or rat?
"This is my constellation! I noticed it a while ago and thought it looked just like a little cute mouse!"

Art/Writing: When poppet stares at the sky, she often finds herself looking for her sailboat. It helps her feel safe and funny enough grounded. When she was young she almost drowned in the middle of the night during a flash flood. When she had reached safety and looked up, the storm had broke and in the small patch of opening sky was a sailboat made of stars.

Art/Writing:

thinking fondly, borealis reminisces back to a time when he was younger where he had found a constellation that he notes as his namesake. looking a bit bashful, borealis explains. "it's not often seen, but when the magnetic field shows its colors within the light of the aurora borealis, you can see the lights of the constellation. i've never really noted it's shape, or that it has an outline that means something to me. but it was just a cluster of four stars, with one being the brightest that always caught my eye."
