A Sweet Treat

A summer's day, hot and bright
A fisherman's game caught my sight
I tried and tried to win a prize,
An empty bucket, tears filled my eyes.

Then he came, sympathetic and kind
he gave me a sweet treat, the icy kind.
It looked like his face and made me smile,
I sat and stayed and we talked for a while.

The sun grew low and the day was at an end.
I knew I must go, said goodbye to my new friend.
Empty bucket in hand, yet my heart was complete.
All because, he gave me a sweet treat <3
