I'm a little confused, what is an "animal companion" edit?

Prompt: Seaviper chuckled as he watched the little dragon wiggle it’s way over to the new cat. The dragon sniffed and blinked before it sneezed out a breath of fire. It just felt like a little tickle if anything. “This is Sparks! I’ve had them for all my life. Mama gave them to me as an egg when I was a kitten and soon they hatched when I was an apprentice!” The tom explained before he awwed when he saw the dragon eventually hop on Snow’s back and curl up to nap. “Looks like you got a new friend!”

Laughter erupted from above as a small hyena jumped off the cliff, landing onto Uthos. “He’s got quite a few tricks to show off, isn’t it adorable?” He asked as he turned towards Snow. “You know, the two of you are quite alike. So many questions!” The hyena laughed at Snow now in response. Uthos whispered to Snow, “That just means he likes you!”

Niji the snake has always been by Shibuichi's side since she was a little girl. The molly had never been afraid of snakes, or really anything, but unbeknownst to her the snake companion was probably the fault of this fearlessness. After all Niji was often taking care of anything big enough to cause the kitten harm, and protecting Shibuichi as if the cat was it's own. No one knows really where the reptile came from other then it has always been there. The theory is that when the little girl was exploring she found an egg all by itself and took it home, but the mother insists she never saw an egg and was immediately horrified by a snake the first time she had seen her child with it. The two of them though are clear friends and enjoy their time together.

he watched as alphie weaved towards her. intricate indigo eyes tracking the stranger's every movement. features remaining calm and collected, betraying nothing.

the stranger managed an uneasy giggle… a foreign laugh that echoed through the fields.''well, you're quite the unique one. aren't ya?'' her paw skimmed across the bridge of alphie's nose. ''aww, you're adorable.''

alphie stiffened at her touch. anxious gaze swerving to meet him. secret messages all captured within one single glance.

a smile twiddled on his lips, and he gave one nod… and without another second, alphie opened his wide mouth. letting the dirtiest, wicked burp.

it seemed the stranger wasn't pleased by that, and she ran off into the sunset. leaving alphie and him to laugh until midnight.

"this? ah. this is aelani," omen replies, a ghost of a smile almost unfitting on their often-neutral face. "she's a flameborn lvikao fawn." a stray flame flits by, one which would've singed the fur off of the cat beside it if not for their immortality.

at the confusion evident on the other cat's face, omen elaborates. "it's a type of elemental deer native to my home realm. she has always been by my side."

"Woah, woah! Dandelion!!" TImberfrost yelped leaping after the young stag. Dandelion was standing very close to Snow, getting up in her face. Snow seems surprised, but not afraid. "So sorry Snow, he hasn't learned that some cats don't know that he is tame," Timberfrost laughed. Snow giggled too, and let out a mrrp of surprise when Dnadelion nudged her nose. "Looks like he likes you!" Timberfrost joked. She nudged Dandelion's leg, signaling for him to pay attention to her. He did so, and she laid down to show him what to do. He laid down, and Timberfrost leaped up on his back. She tapped his side with her tail tip and he rose above Snow, surprising her. "Welp, see you later ma'am!" Timberfrost said cheerfully as Dandelion turned and walked slowly away as to not jostle his passenger.

Prompt: Scorch Cloud and Ruckus

Scorch Cloud and Ruckus were walking along the path when suddenly Ruckus startled and moved behind Scorch Cloud. Shortly after, Snow came around the corner. Scorch smiled in recognition and took up chatting with Snow, eyeing Ruckus' nervous peeking around her bushy tail. After they'd chatted for a bit, Ruckus seemed to understand that Scorch knew the strange cat. He cautiously came out from behind Scorch and sniffed Snow. Finding that she wasn't a threat he began walk around her, looking for stray trinkets that he could hold onto for "safekeeping". Scorch laughed at him and introduced him to Snow, as well as warned him of his kleptomanic habits.
