Range Trotters are the result of crossbreeding Orlov Trotters, Finnhorses, Welsh Cobs (section C & D) and Hanoverians. Later crosses of Quarter Horses, Paint and Appaloosas to gain color and to give a boost to their hardiness. With a height average of 13-15 hands, they're a hardy breed with characteristics for various disciplines.
Created for use as work, carriage and leisure riding horses originally, they now serve as long-distance range horses, such as work with Park Rangers and mounted officers.
Willing and eager personalities, most are quickly trained to be bombproof and therefore trusted mounts in all lines of work; some are being seen in local show jumping competitions, others are notably used in therapeutic sessions for their calm temperaments. Harness races and endurance trials are common for the breed, as they are able to sustain an extended trot without tire. Cross-Country competitions see some of the taller Trotters, but due to their cob lineage this is still uncommon.
Despite the variety of competitions and work these horses are being seen in, they are still famously skilled as endurance racers. Many competitors have chosen Range Trotters due to their tireless work ethic, as well as the ease in which they can be trained. Many have become champions in endurance trials, and they have quickly become a sought after breed for their natural ability.

Prompt:
How about some chili mac? This is a perennial favorite in my house- it's cheap, filling, relatively decent for you, and makes more than enough for leftovers! I recommend adding 1 tsp of smoked paprika and using tomato sauce instead of crushed tomatoes. I also happen to very much enjoy beans, so I used 2 full cans rather than the suggested 3/4 cup of each.

Prompt: Okay so I was actually just telling Pan about a tried and true recipe for avocado toast, you can make it really cheap with basically whatever you have laying around the house
Fire roast a bell pepper in the oven, at 400 degrees for about 25 minutes. Cut the pepper in half at the stem, rake out all the seeds and extra bits that you don't want, and then place the peppers skin side down on the oven's rack. You want to get sort of a nice char on the skin so it's normal for it to look kinda black and burnt, that's exactly what you want to get the fire roasted flavor
Once it's nice and charred, take it out of the oven and let it cool enough so that you can dice it up into small pieces
Smash an avocado together in a bowl and add whatever kind of herbs and flavors you want, I just do salt, pepper, and garlic, nothing fancy, but you could definitely add cilantro or whatever else you want. Spread the avocado on toast, put the diced pepper on top of the avocado and you're done!
Sometimes when I want more or have more ingredients to use, I'll put a slice of tomato on there, maybe some bacon, a fried egg, etc etc. Last time I checked I think I was able to make this meal for like under $5. Super cheap and super easy, and it's really filling too

Height: 13.3hh

Prompt: ok so what you're gonna do is collect a packet of Ramen, a can of cream of chicken, a can of chicken/chicken breast/chik'n nuggs/whatever floats your boat, and a cheese stick.
Cook the Ramen noodles, discarding the powder packet.
Mix with 'cream of' soup, chicken/protein of choice and top with a chopped up Colby jack cheese stick.
Microwave 2-ish minutes, or until heated through and cheese is melted.
Enjoy!
This is a single serve "barracks casserole" that I ate a ton of right out of boot camp. Filling, cozy, all the ingredients are easily obtained and not very expensive.

Show Name: PP's Semolina Delight
Barn Name: Harcha

Height: 14hh
Halter Color: eye colour
Prompt: I don't have an online recipe as I juste worked this out on my own (although it probably exists something similar), but it's really cheap for me and it makes a convenient snack or breakfast.
I buy very fine semolina (much thiner than the one you use for couscous, but still a bit thicker than flour). Poor one cup of semolina, and one cup of milk (hazelnut milk does wonder but cow milk works too) in a flat pan (the one you'd use for pancakes). Let it rest for 10 minutes. While it rests, or after, you can add various things according to your liking. I often mix it with mashed bananas and cinnamon. If it's not your thing, you can put cocoa powder and small chunks of chocolate. You can try a salty version with whatever you have (olives, seeds, maybe even bacon bits). I guess it would work well with cooked tomatoes too. It's basically a base to mix with anything you like. After you mixed everything and let the semolina soak, you just cook it at a slow heat until it becomes a kind of galette. I used to pack it to eat it as breakfast in the train when going to office.

Show Name: VEO's Eat Your Vegetables
Barn Name: Salad
Gender: Mare
Height: 13 hh
Halter Color: Salad Coloured
Prompt: Honestly, this will sound so stupid but: Salad!
You can make Salad out of ANYTHING, it is so so variable and tasty! Even if you don't like leaf salad you can do Noodle or Potato Salad.
I personally am the biggest fan of Spinach Salad or Leaf Salad with a sprinkle of Bacon and Nuts and Cheese on top.
And it's very easy to make:
chop like a quarter of a salad head into small mouth sized pieces, chop up whatever else you want to add like ... tomatos, cucumber and paprika are my go to. Add the lil XTRA you want after you finished the whole salad.
For the sauce, I usually go for the simplest recipe possible: enough oil to cover the ground of the bowl, add 1 tea spoon acid (or 2, depending on the size of the bowl), salt, pepper.
Toss it over, add the X, Done!
Or - if everything fails - cooked potatoes with fried egg. Was my GO TO when I am super lazy. Super easy, super quick, 5mins max.

Prompt:Bit less of a solid, standard recipe and more of those "feel with your heart" type but as a fellow college student. Soup. Soup is my bestest friend in the whole world. I love to make a giant batch of it once in a while and then stick it in the fridge or freezer so I can quickly pull it out on days I don't want to cook.
Normally I go with;
- 1/4 cup some type of fat (i do bacon grease, usually, but butter or oil would also be fine)
- 32oz of broth
- 1 onion
- 5 cloves garlic
- 8 potatoes
- assorted in-season veggies (broccoli, celery, tomatoes, carrots, etc. literally whatever's cheapest)
- assorted in-season/cheap proteins (not 100% necessary but more nutrients is always good)
- a roux which isn't totally necessary but i like my soup really thick and this thickens it up. 1/4 cup flour, 3 tbsp butter
and then from there just. dice or cut all the vegetables. throw them in the pot with the cooking grease. cook until everything smells good/you deem it ready and then cover it with the broth. let that simmer until the potatoes are nice and soft (or however long you want really.) and then whisk the roux together with a fork and throw that in. throw in spices + salt and pepper until everything tastes good and then bag it up for the month. it makes a Lot Of Soup. its especially great during the winter months when all you want to do is curl up in a ball.
