Max had gone home rather dejectedly the day before. He'd felt like he was so close to fixing the carousel. He'd spent hours pouring over various mechanical manuals, tutorial videos, and any other information he could find online about repairing carnival rides. Half of the stuff he read didn't seem to make much sense to him, but some of it had. Hopefully if he could apply what he understood, then maybe...just maybe...he could actually fix the carousel. But first, since he felt like he deserved a bit of a late start today, he figured he'd check out a few of the other areas of the carnival first.

So the rainbow Chicoon meandered through the other sections of the carnival, checking out the various booths and the rides that were still in working condition. He watched as a few Chicoons flew off High Flyers and landed in a pile of plushies. Was that safe? He wondered briefly if the ride operator needed help fixing the ride, but Max shook his head. No, he already had his hands full trying to fix the carousel. He didn't need to go sticking his nose into the business of other rides unless he was told to do so.

Max discovered a golf course that looked like a lot of fun. He'd had a little practice playing mini golf with his twins, though it had been on a super tiny mini golf course designed for children. The father had felt like a giant, walking around through the miniature courses there. This course seemed to be more his size and had various holes that seemed pretty wacky. He spent an hour or so going through the available holes of the course, finding it to be rather pleasing and relaxing. Except for the hole with the speed ramp and flaming ring in pitch darkness. That had been mildly terrifying.

After a quick bite to eat and drink, Max headed back to the carousel. During his research, he'd learned that sometimes the wiring connected to the on off switch itself could cause things to go haywire. So that's where he was going to look first today. He clenched the flashlight in his mouth once again and flipped over onto his back to stick his head into the cubbyhole beneath the control panel. The beam of light from the flashlight lit up the underside, where he could see some wires he hadn't noticed before now. One seemed to be hooked up to the on off switch, while the other was connected to the music switch.

Max fiddled a bit with both wires to see if they were loose at all. One popped out without him needing to touch it much. Well that wouldn't do! So Max firmly grasped the wire and connected it back to the hole it was supposed to be in. The other wire didn't budge when he touched it. He pulled himself back out of the cubbyhole and double checked all of the wires he'd previously worked on. Everything seemed to be where he'd left it so now it was time to give it another go!

He clicked off the flashlight and took a deep breath before flicking the switch. Like yesterday, there was a flash of light from the bulbs around the edge of the ride. However, this time, the carousel actually seemed to be moving! Suddenly, there was a horrendous screeching noise of metal on metal and everything jerked to a stop. Max quickly flipped the switch, his eyes round with fright. That had definitely not sounded good! Something must be getting dragged somewhere underneath! [600 words]

Holden overhears the gossip about the carnival. He joins the chitchat and asks about the people working in the carnival. "Maybe we can ask them for help and assistance in exchange for small favors," he says while looking at Ripsaw hesitantly. "They might know a thing or two about fixing rides. Would you happen to know who is best at this stuff? I'll try to look for them."

Evergreen was glad to see Ripsaw seemed less grumpy today. Hopefully that meant he was able to catch up on some sleep. Evergreen had gotten plenty of sleep themself and was ready to try fixing the ride again! They headed to the shed to examine the tools, which so far they have really only tried using a couple of. Maybe there was something else in there they could use? Hmm, they used the screwdriver and one of the wrenches before, there was a hand saw but Evergreen really was not confident in using that... Oh, what about the hammer? A nice, simple, relatively easy to use tool. Evergreen was not entirely sure what they would use it for, but it was a tool they felt comfortable enough using so maybe they should just walk around the ride and see if there was anything that it could be useful for?
So they began wandering around, examining the ride, paying special attention to any nails... And eventually they spotted it. One section of the ride had a few nails that were not in place properly. Instead, they were seemingly haphazardly sticking out at random. Evergreen wondered why they had not noticed this before; then again, they had not really been paying close attention to such small things like nails before now. They had mainly been looking at the wiring and bigger and more obvious stuff. Shrugging off the thought, they got to work carefully removing the nails and then hammering them back into their proper places, much more securely than they had been before. There, that should help! Evergreen then spent the rest of the day carefully examining each and every section of the ride for any other places where there might be something small they had been overlooking.

Leggers has decided that they quite like this part of the carnival! It's loud, stimulating and has bright flashing lights all over the place! There's also a lot of other fair-ground-themed chicoons around, so they don't really feel too out of place in the bustling behind the scenes of the large rides. A few times, they've even been asked if they could help out some others! Leggers, as their name states, has very long legs- and they're all stuffed with fluff! So it makes reaching hard to get places quite easy.. Unless it's a bit too heavy.. Leggers isn't very strong.. What?! They're all fluff and stitches and you expected them to able to lift? This chicoon does NOT even lift, bro. Leggy Dude pays Ripsaw almost no mind- the two share niceties and then they walk separate directions, off to different rides needin' to be fixed![147 words]

i've decided to...

Pablo decides to walk back to the ride itself. He doesn't feel like messing around with it today, so instead he decides to just undust everything. So he gets himself some cleaning gear and walks around the whole ride. He even decides to clean the outside of the ride. Even the ride deserves to sparkle, right? Even though it is not working right now, does not mean it deserves to eat dust. Pablo does not feel like climbing in it too hight though, but he cleans it as far as he dares to go. Of course he is wearing a safety harness when he climbs on to the ride, he does not want to risk falling down!
He hooks the bucket of water to whatever joints he can hook it to, then dips a cloth in it and starts scrubbing the ride. Some parts were already fairly dusty, so this little wash is probably appreciated! Pablo works his way around basically the whole ride before he decides to climb down again and cleans everything else on the ground. After a whole day of cleaning, he leaves the place again and goes to check out some other rides before he decides to go back home.

Quince looks over the paperwork, before sighing in defeat as the paperwork wasnt what he needed. Eventuallyhe went and tried to find some tools to try and see what he could doto fix the ride. He found a screwdriver and 2 rusty nails.... and a weird piece of metal. Quince overlooked the metal and realised it was part of the ride that was missing where it was meant to be....weird.

Parking Ticket sighed upon hearing their conversation; the ride was obviously still busted. And he had absolutely no plans to try to change that with his still extremely limited knowledge of the ride. Welp. He turned right back around to leave again, nothing he could do today, especially not with the other Chicoons grumpy. He'd rather not end up yelled at, thank you

Everett continued to try to hear the ongoing conversation between ripsaw and sink. They were always down to hear some gossip. Secretly, they wished they had a better relationship with the two Chicoons. Maybe then they could get the gossip by mouth, and not by snooping and sneaking around. Eventually, Everett could no longer make out the words the Chicoons were whispering. It seemed like both ripsaw and sink were preoccupied today. Everett figured nobody would miss them if they went off and played a few carnival games and visited some of the other booths. Walking away from the broken ride, Everett disappeared from view.
