After returning to the shed and having a look through the user manual she started to compare the pictures and diagrams to the ride and its parts. She checked for any dodgy looking wires or bolts, screwing up some lose nuts and then went back to the shed to rummage for more parts and wires she could use, she started to collect a small bundle of parts. The pile of wires grew and her confusion on what to actually do she started to organise all the little bolts and nuts she's found, after an hour of looking she decided to wander off to Alien Plinko instead to kill some time.

Enter was bound to have a few-- no, several-- challenges ahead of them when it came to this new idea of fixing up the ride. For starters, she had to actually move the ladder over to the ride itself from the service shed. She frowned lightly as she stepped inside and took a look around. This? This was not how she left it. Quite the opposite, really.

She supposed that ‘Eon’ did, in fact, kinda-sorta warn her about Ripsaw coming into the shed. If anything, she was surprised that the shed was still standing based on how grumpy that chicoon was. Part of her wondered if he had actually made her job harder-- but to be fair, he knew exponentially more about how the heck amusement park rides were supposed to actually function compared to her! On the shed front though?? Oh yeah. He 100% made this initially simple task of retrieving a ladder far more difficult on her gentle soul.

It wasn’t just because of the fact she now couldn’t find the ladder itself underneath all the strewn around tools and junk. It was that specific thing: The fact everything was now strewn around. She couldn’t just leave the service shed in its current state! Surely not. She’d knit her brow and figure out how best to approach this before going to empty her bucket resting outside. She could pick up the wayward screws and bolts later! She needed the bucket itself for a good bit if she was going to fix the shed. If anything, she thought maybe cleaning the shed would give her a spark of genius when it came time to fix the ride again.

Every single tool should have a place, she thought. She’d carefully sift through all of the miscellaneous things scattered across the floor of the maintenance shed, picking up each and every hammer she found no matter its size or shape-- putting them into the bucket. It was only once she had pulled out a good number of them that she’d pick the bucket up and… well. She dumped this new pile of hammers just outside the shed. Without a second thought, she dipped back inside to repeat this process.

Again and again. Screwdrivers. Pliers. Jumper cables. Each and every item she found in the shed would be deposited into the bucket if it’d fit, sorting them into piles for proper organization. Some of the nuts and bolts she’d do this to would wind up rolling away, but she could deal with that later! Heck, she even managed to find the ladder during this mess! That, she decided, could just be propped up outside of the shed for her to move over once she was done.

Staring at the variety of piles outside, she’d puff out her chest and smile proudly. Now this? This was progress! As she observed her current work-in-progress though, her gaze caught onto the defunct ride within her peripheral. Just like organizing the shed, maybe she should just check on each part that made up the whole sum of the ride? It was a curious concept, but one she figured might be worth exploring. She would be able to check on more than just that center part holding the gondola to that main beam, after all. The ladder sort of opened up a lot of possibilities.

First though? Pile by pile, Enter found herself putting things back into her trusty bucket and moving them back into the shed! Neatly organized into various cardboard boxes or studs on the walls. This whole process was a bit more involved and taxxing than initially anticipated, but she was quite proud of herself once everything had been sorted and squared away. Minus the ladder, that is. That was the whole point of her doing this to begin with, after all.

If only fixing this was as simple as cleaning up, she thought. No matter. She had her newfound trusty ladder to help her, and she’d fumble with carrying it over to the ride proper. After a quick moment to recollect what SHE was using tools-wise into her bucket again, she’d see about propping it up against the ride. It shook a bit as she extended it-- was this safe? Probably not. Was that going to stop her? Never.

With newfound resolve and a new idea on how to get to the root of the problem, Enter would take up the bucket in her mouth and carefully climb up the ladder to access the top part of the gondola. If she couldn’t find anything wrong here with the center piece, that just meant that she would have to go through and check each and every moving part of the ride for a fault. Just like the shed, things became a lot clearer once you broke them down into their basic parts. And thanks to the ride she inspected earlier? She was pretty sure she could figure out the basic parts for this one too…hopefully…

Pablo looks a bit puzzled, that was a bit strange. Lets first see what Ripsaw had done. Thus Pablo walks inside the cnotrol room and it honsetly looks a bit like a mess, as if this was a desperate attempt of Ripsaw to fix the ride. Man, that's kinda sad. Lets just clean this up a little bit, I mean. Nobody can work in a messy enviroment, right? Pablo though to himself. He starts picking up stuff left and right. Some panels, some left over cables and more stuff. Some paper here and there. Pablo grabs it all and puts it somehwere obvious, he does not want the things to be lost, in case these items are all needed in the future or something. After cleaning a little bit, he finds the manual of the ride. "Wait, I had not seen that yet?" He says oud loud, while opening the manual. He starts to look at it, starts to read it. He still does not understand the entirity of the ride and the mechanics and all, but he seems to understand a little bit more now. So he grabs the tools once more and starts fixing some stuff that seems broken or lost. He finds out there are some missing things by comparing the pictures in the manual to the control panel. He looks around the whole control room to find the spare parts, but they are nowhere to be seen. Pablo decides to walk to some other rides to see if they have som spare parts they could offer to fix this ride perhaps. Pablo is determined to fix it! He runs and runs, to the next rides, next booths, everything. After a little while he ends up with just enought parts to possibly use. Happily he runs back to the ride. "Still nobody here huh?" Pablo says oud loud. He shrugs and starts fixing the things he thinks need fixing, I mean. He uses the manual, so it must probably be the right manual, right? After he is done doing something, he decided to go search for that one chicoon. They said they were with sink or something? Lets just go look for them then and tell we found the manual and started fixing something, perhaps.

Pink Lemonade began to wonder if fixing up this ride was even worth it, all it seemed to give everyone was headaches, not laughs and good times. She glanced back at the shed as it was mentioned, ahh, another headache. It did look completely out of sorts, she could tell just from looking at it that the inside was much worse than the outside. Perhaps starting there could ease some of the stress on Ripsaw, he sure did look exhausted and overworked. PL walked to the shed and peeked through the door, her eyes widened with the fact of the state of things.

Okay...first thing's first, PL grabbed a trash bag and started dumping heaps of empty oil cans, cracked and broken tubing, rusted pipes beyond working condition, and all other sorts of odds and ends that were cluttering up the shed. She Tied the bag up and set it outside the shed, then got to organizing the shelves. Cardboard boxes held fresh cans of oil, grease, and lubricant and were stacked neatly and labeled with a sharpie. Pipes were stuck into a barrel that stood in the corner of the shed with the longest ones standing tall in the back and the shorter ones in front of them.

All the nuts and bolts were stored in labeled jars by their size and stuck on the shelves as well, with a newly organized tool box sitting comfortably next to them. PL wiped the windows clean and used an old mop to pull the cobwebs from every corner before tossing the mophead into the trash bag and affixing a new one. She swept, then mopped, the worn wooden floor then cracked the window open just slightly to let a breeze in. There! The shed was looking significantly nicer, and loads more organized! Hopefully next time Ripsaw walked in their for a tool or a part, he'd feel at least a small sense of relief. - [323]

i've decided to...

Miles blinked as the chicoon spoke to him. Unable to tune out the visual of Ripsaw, there was something so horrifyingly unhinged about the chicoon, but like in a cursed way. And it haunted Miles' every waking thought trying to figure out what was so daunting. Was it the way he stared at him, fully aware he wasn't a legitimate mechanic? Was it his sense of authority? Or was it because he looked like some kind of goblin, trying to take down a plane, when he was crouched like that in front of the wires?
Raising a brow "find a sink?" he thought to himself. But.. He's supposed to be finding bolts and problems with the ride (of course he still have no idea how to do it, obviously) How is washing the ride supposed to help? On top of that a sink is far too small to wash it, anyway. But because his efforts were so fruitless yesterday he brought some backup with him. A pair of books, everything ranging from construction to engineering for dummies, to a mechanics handbook, to a complete collection for rookie electricians, and LEGO technic instructions... (tons of them) There had to have been something useful in all of these, right? If a child can built a mechanism out of sheer plastic that actually works as if it was heavy duty unit then how much different could a ride be!

Jamming some Daft Punk - Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger . He rolled up his non existed sleeves and was determined to make sure this montage was going to result in him actually finishing the ride.
Opening his series of books and toy instructions her tapped a pencil against his lips in thought, observing everything he could find. Circling things and writing down notes, he grabbed a pair of wrenches and hoops up on the ride, climbing to the top, checking things over and screwing in any loose screws. Prying open panels, building a Technic set, testing the Technic set, rearranging wires, and prying out a few in the process - oh gods look at this, what a mess, what a bloody mess., pulling down the mask he took a solder and began cutting open snapped, torn wires, and soldering them together to try and fix them. Closing the panel once everything was plugged in. He took a look at the base of the ride. Accidentally left a lego piece in the compartment. Panicked because the panel popped with a boom and exploded on fire. Redid everything he just did and replaced the burnt wires. The panes falls a few times, and he repeated kept picking it back up to bolt it in. It donked him on the head as he whirred the drip as if to tell it to get ready. Grunts loud, and proceeds to rub his head, and helm, looking through the visor angrily at it like he was offended. Bolted it super tightly, to make it extra secure. Gods forbid something exploded on fire inside again. It's not coming open ever ever again.

Something did stand out to him, he found a bolt size that didn't fit the socket, or... at least not correctly. Taking it out and overviewing his endless collection of manuals and guides, he was correct! Someone had mistaken the bolt for the rides actual one simply due to size. It was either a mistake or they deliberately left it in and assumed it would preform the same function. No wonder the ride wasn't going off. He remembered seeing bolts like this at the High Flyers. This must've probably belonged to them. Maybe he oughta talk to Eddie about this. But the question still remained as he fussed in his own head "What in the same of Pit's unholy chest feathers was this even doing here!?" Well, anyway. He tossed into the spare pocket of the tool box, and went back to his work, digging through to put in the right screws. It took agonizingly long time, but he was finally done. Now he just had to find someone who would be willing to operate it and let him test run it to see if he actually got the problem fixed. Everything seemed accurate according to the books, even though now there were SEVERAL lego builds, he called his "prototypes and testing models", littering the base of the ride. remembering what, who he could only assume to be Eon, told him. to find a sink. He still had no damn clue how is that even supposed to help in the slightest but hey, he knew what they needed, who was Miles to judge them when he literally learned ride repair through books on the spot (he thinks he did). Walking off, among the crowd, looking for the very object he was instructed to deliver. Going into the bathrooms and practically prying it off of the wall. Going back to the work station he put it down "There. I got the sink. ......... So, now what?" He scratched his head unable to come up with a singular reason behind the sink's purpose, by all rules of logic this really should be extremely pointless!

"Uhh.. Not that it's my place to intrude, but... Whatd'ya plan to do with that?" A voice run from behind him. Causing the poor chicoon to jump with a loud AH!

"Woah, man! Sorry, I didn't mean to scare." Sink laughed. "I'm Sink. Eon sent me over to check up on you, in case you needed something."

Miles only blinked at him. And by gods, suddenly, it hit him like a freight train. His NAME was SINK. He was the sink Eon wanted, not an actual sink pried off the bathroom walls! Speaking of which those are probably flooding by now as they spoke. And in the back of Miles' horrified mind there was an imagined scenario of the chaos that just might be unfolding across the fairgrounds from his little misdoings. Gee, I hope no one is trapped in there with all that liquid.

"I fixed the ride." Is all Miles could blurt out in his moment of stun.

"Oh yeah?" Sink laughed in amusement. "Well, let me go turn it on for y-" suddenly something caught his attention, and shouting in the distance. "Yeah, yeah I'm comin'!" The chicoon turned back to Miles with a warm smile. "Can you hold that thought, little buddy? I gotta go take care of that, ad then we can test your work."

Oh gods, why did Miles feel like this spelled doom for him?
Curious if he could find Eon to turn it on for him NOW, so that he could try to fix it in time, if it still didn't work. He got up to his feet from where he had taken a seat. And moved to go look for Eon. Only to trip, and scrape (something) on something. falling over like a unstable tree he grunted when his chin hit the ground, His tail flame swishing accidentally lighting a fire to the exposed wire cables nearby. "oh not again..." He groaned, tiredly. He's already had enough fires, and enough of putting them out for one day. "Uh oh-" Realizing how rapidly it crawled around he scrambled up to his feet, tripping over himself plenty o'times. He went for the fire extinguisher to put it out. Now how is he supposed to explain this. A fellow chicoon walked up to him asking him if everything was alright, to which he immediately scrambled to stand in front of the burnt mark, hiding the damage.

"Yup!" He chirpped sheepishly. Unsure how to answer them when they asked what had happened there, behind him. "Oh I nothing... You know! Just... Another regular day at work! ..As a..mechanic." He grinned, giving it one more spray for good measure, it didn't seem like the quizzer was buying it, but thankfully they were distracted enough by someone to move on. That was a close one.

Turning around to look at the situation, he scrubs his hands over his face and groaned loudly. In a tone that very obviously stated he was D O N E. Taking a deep, huffy breath, he actually huffed in discontent. and reached into the tool box to try and fix it all over again. It took, freaking forever, but he finally did it again. He finished his repair, now it was a matter of seeing that the owners had to say about it, and if it'll even work, or did he miss something?

Oh, hopefully not, he couldn't take another do over in the same day. He already had so many, and he just wanted it to work.
While he was waiting for someone, possible Sink or Eon, to come over, he figured he might as well put the toolbox away back in the shed and pile his books aside. And as he was doing so - he could, only in the most classical manner ever, hear someone grunt in agony about stepping on one of his Technic "prototypes". Oh yeah! He should probably better put those away too, uh?

Everett listened to ‘Eon’ while shuffling their paws. They did not like hearing that Ripsaw was in a bad mood. Did his mood correlate to the broken ride, or was something else going on in Ripsaw’s life?

If Ripsaw was that upset about the ride, Everett felt horrible about not being of much help. They walked back over to the broken ride. If they expected the answer to suddenly appear in front of them, they were obviously mistaken. Everett tried again to repair the ride — tightening and loosening nuts and bolts, and replacing a few simple parts. Everett was about to cut a wire when they shook their head. They did not want to make this worse for Ripsaw. Although Everett had good intentions, they should not be adding more work to Ripsaw’s plate. They did not want Ripsaw to have to fix Everett’s mistakes too.

Backing away from the ride, Everett thought about the conversation they had with ‘Eon’. ‘Eon’ had mentioned the name Sink. Could that be a Chicoon that could help fix the ride or at least offer some helpful advice? Everett had to try to find out. If it would help Ripsaw, it would be worth it. Not sure where to look first, Everett decided to do what seemed easiest. “Does anyone here go by the name of Sink, or know someone named Sink?” They called out, waiting for someone to step forward and speak up.

Ace doesn't really have the time to try fix the ride today, and once told to ignore Ripsaw and left to their own devices, they leave. He'd had no time to actually enjoy the carnival this year, stuck clanging a wrench against an oily old machine in the hopes something would happen. And so Ace actually went out to enjoy the weather and visit a few of the other booths. Duck picking, the arcade, even a short round of golf. And best of all, they grabs themself something eat, some delicious fairground treats. He might have actually gone a bit overboard, looking down at some of his snacks and thinking to himself. Maybe they could take some back to Ripsaw and cheer him up a bit... Ace nods to themself and heads back to the broken down ride.

They have to look around to find the other chicoon, but when they saw him (and saw how grumpy he still looked) he gulped and had to work up the courage to approach. "Hey. You can't keep working on an empty stomach, I brought you something to eat... I mean, if you don't like it then you don't have to eat it, that's fine... but if you do, here..." Ace rambled, then dropped the food next to Ripsaw and turned on his heel, leaving as quickly as they could. Delivering food was one thing, but the possibility of having a conversation with Ripsaw was another. Ace would rather run and hide! Ace wandered back around the carnival, wondering if the other chicoon had even looked twice. Oh well... it wasn't really Ace's problem. They weren't getting paid for this after all!! As the day draws to a close, Ace decides that tomorrow he will definitely make progress on fixing the ride (if it wasn't already up and running!) [306]

i've decided to...
The ride was something Ichigo had a hard time pulling herself away from, and now Cashew was coming along with her in the long run. It was like a magnetic charge — an unusual attraction causing an affliction of needing to get to the bottom of the run-down ride's curious case. Neither of them could stay away at this point. Maybe the two of them would walk away for a while, maybe to grab a bite to eat or to do something else briefly, but neither of them could keep themselves from ultimately returning. They'd keep coming back day after day if it so called for it, until that ride was fixed, good as new... If it could even be fixed. At this point, Cashew didn't have their hopes up, but Ichigo had some shreds of determination left in her heart, though she too was wondering if half the carnival was rigged at this point because it seemed like everything was against her, perhaps something akin to a warrior trying to fight off enemies. Mostly this ride, though. Ugh.

So, on this day, the two once again snuck around and hid from plain sight, watching as Ripsaw got to business. He sure was busy trying to get that thing back into running condition, but it seemed it was not just Ichi and Cashew who weren't getting very far with their attempts. (Cashew suggested maybe Ripsaw wasn't getting too far because he was using his teeth instead of proper tools to remove screws, but then again, Ichigo reminded them that using screwdrivers didn't work for the daring duo either.) Both did note how tired the poor grump looked, though; but they knew he was so invested in his work that he wanted the pendulum ride to work as much as everyone else did. Maybe they were lending him a hand. A really messy hand, covered in the likes of spilled oil and perhaps a hint of dill pickle and relish on the side. Even if nobody involved was getting the job done, valiant attempts were made, and that's the biggest thing that mattered right now. But not even the control pannel seemed to be working; it made Ichi and Cashew curious if the issue was with the ride, the control pannel or booth, a mix of all of those options, or something else entirely. It was rather bizzare that nobody could find a sure-fire fix for it. Neither of them blamed Ripsaw for leaving in a miserable mood. They'd be exhausted if they worked even harder than he did to no avail.

And then Eon popped up. Ah, here we go again. Did anyone around here ever get any rest? Do they just... Work all day, every day without getting a wink of sleep? At this point, anything could happen, and Ichigo almost expected to see someone fall asleep while standing up at such a rate. Eon told the two to ignore Ripsaw... To which Cashew blurted out, "How can we ignore him if all we've been doing is watch him work on the ride?" Ichi elbowed them in the side, frowning. "...Oops." I meant we WEREN'T watching him work on the ride." The winged chicoon let out a nervous chuckle while the pink one rolled her eyes. Oh, brother. This was gonna be another long day... "Oh, right, and... I mean, we'd be in an awful mood if we had to do this all day long! Because we totally aren't trying to help fix this thing or anything. We're totally just checking out everything else in the carnival. Nothing to see here! Absolutely nothing. —Ignore me!" Neither of them had any time to ask Eon what they meant by Ripsaw doing stupid stuff again, though.
"I do stupid stuff all the time, too," beamed Cashew.
"I don't," started Ichigo. "...I do stupid stuff EVERY CHANCE I GET!"
"...Say, why don't we ask Ripsaw if he wants to do stupid stuff with us to help get this thing going?"
"...I have no idea where he went, Cash. You know I would if I knew! By the way, who's... Sink?"
"I think that's the things you can find in bathrooms...? Not sure what a sink would know about finding people or fixing rides, though."

Since the duo had previously focused on trying to find flaws with the actual ride and its mechanisms, they wondered if they should look at something else this time. It's not like trying to get the ride working by hammering it or loosening its screws was going to work, so they devised a new plan, wondering if this time they could finally get a lead on the pendulum ride's issue. It wouldn't hurt to try, and hey, maybe they'd finally get somewhere! Even the slightest spark of hope would be appreciated right now, the tiniest squeak of a grinding gear, the quickest bolt of electricity running through wires. Anything, absolutely anything, no matter how small or insignifigant it may seem, would do.

Today, Ichigo and Cashew would tinker with the control panel and the booth to see if the problems are coming from there.

"Well, did he actually try opening the control panels or did he just press the buttons at random?" asked Cashew, staring into the booth. They didn't know how to operate machinery like that, but certaintly they could learn! Quick and easy... Maybe not really, but they were going to give it their best possible shot.
"I don't know. You didn't see him do that?" Ichigo said, confused. Did they... Get distracted?
"I needed my morning banana on a bun with ketchup! What about you!?"
Ichi nearly gagged at such a breakfast. "I, erm... Look, a chicoon needs a little cotton candy break every now and again, you know!?"
...Rats. Both hadn't focused quite as hard as the previous days. But that was not the end of the world, for they assumed the inner workings of the panel could still use a good looking at. Ichi was able to find one spare screwdriver and some wire cutters, and so got to work, unscrewing parts of the panel and revealing its inner workings, where the two eventually got to work, slowly taking things apart and putting them together again, taking note of all the wires and buttons encased within. Maybe rewiring it could help get it back to working condition again, and so they spent the day doing exactly that. Maybe Cashew cut a wire or two here and there, but those couldn't of been THAT important... They hoped.

At the end of the day, they were proud of their work, but wary of failure lurking around the corner nonetheless.

i've decided to...
Haster sat down on the ground as xe pondered what xe would do today. Xe quietly looked up at the ride and thought that xe won't be able to fix this ride just by xemself. So Haster decided to take a break today and find some friends who could help xem.
