He squeals in excitement. The course is adorable! He digs thru a bucket of colored golfballs and finds a nice bright orange one to match the course. He stands up and steadies his putter in front of the ball, taking a careful swing back and trying to hit it at just the right strength. It rolls into the course swiftly and clanks as it enters the chicoon. It spits out his ball but misses the hole. Bucket frowns but he knocks it in in the next hit. Progress!

gripping the club harder this time, he sets down the ball and brings the club as far back as he can without moving. maybe if he hadn't been so gentle, he would've gotten that hole-in-one he so desperately wanted.. no, deserved. he needed that hole-in-one.
lining up the club with the ball, he gets ready, and--- HITS THE BALL PERFECTLY, IT WINDS AROUND THE COURSE ALL BY ITSELF AND LANDS IN THE HOLE, AS THE CROWD CHEERS FOR HIM AND HE SMILES WIDELY IN TRIUMPH misses the ball. and falls flat on his back, leaving the ball untouched and perfectly clean by his foot.
well, no time to cry over spilled milk. getting to his feet, (and checking to make sure no chicoons saw him) ladybug grabs the club again and smacks the ball with less aggression this time, making a "wiping sweat off of forehead" gesture as he watches the ball roll away.
