Etch narrows his eyes and glances over at the large metallic shack in the distance, seemingly cluttered with all different kinds of tools. It appeared many of the tools were carelessly scattered on the floor throughout the shack. As his wings dropped worriedly, he turned around to try and speak to the blue chicoon who lead him to the ride, but they were already long gone. He turned to view the shack once more, asking himself if he should just leave or if he could actually try and fix the ride with what was provided.

Etch made his way to the shack ahead of him, looking around to see if there was anything else that could help him figure out what happened to the ride. Once he was inside the shack, he noticed that not only were the tools scattered throughout the shack, but most of them were in bad shape. It seems as though some of the nuts and bolts were misshapen, almost as if somebody had flattered them with a hammer. The handheld tools were looking rough, with some completely missing their handles and most being coated in a thick layer of rust. There were a few tools that were in okay shape, but they appeared to be covered in a nasty sticky substance, probably by the candy-coated hands of another chicoon. Gross.

Etch rolled his eyes before muttering to himself, “Now how could anybody fix anything, let alone a huge ride, with their tools looking like this!” he scoffed. “I mean seriously! I can see why that chicoon didn’t come over here with me. If I was them, I would’ve run for the hills too!” Etch continued to search the shack, hoping he could find some tools in better shape. While searching, he was trying to think about who could’ve left this place in such disarray. He stopped to voice his frustration, “You know what? I can’t even begin to stop fixing this ride until I have the right tools.” Etch flicked his tail in aggravation. Suddenly, a thought came to his mind. He asked himself, “What if that big chicoon I saw was the one who left the place looking like this? I mean, he did seem pretty grumpy.” He shrugged. “I wonder if he could help me out? Surely he would know where to find some other tools or tell me what happened to the ones here.” Etch left the shack and began his search.

i've decided to... Look at the ride and… try to assess the damage, before I mess with anything and screw it up. (Don’t have a chicoon so if possible, gonna use Miles </3)

Miles opened their mouth to say something, but closed it as they saw the other chicoon leave. Oh well.
They rested their chin in their paw and surveyed the pendulum ride curiously, walking around the ride to inspect each square inch of it.
Maybe the problem was higher up in the motors? They’d need a ladder…

Miles skittered off to the aforementioned tool shack, and began digging and moving things around to find what they needed. Eventually, they found the ladder (hidden behind a few boxes of darts for one of the carnival games) as well as a tool belt, and began to drag both out to the ride, propping the ladder against the back of it. They clipped on the tool belt and started to carefully scale the ladder, trying their best not to look down, and finally reached the backing that covered the motor. They undid all but one bolt to let the cover hang to the side, and peeked to look around to see if there was any issues. When they looked up into the compartment, they noticed something quite odd. A bunch of rubber duckies were stuck in the gear!

“Oh dear, how did that even happen… I have two find those two from earlier!” And with that said, Miles made their way down. There was NO way Miles would attempt to fix it by themself, they last thing they needed more malfunctions, or even the whole ride falling apart if they took out the wrong part. Once they got to the bottom, they scrambled off in the direction they saw the smaller chicoon head off to last. Hopefully they would be able to find them…

i've decided to...

dig around in the metallic lookin shack to see if I can scrounge up any leftover tools that might be of help. Granted CottenCandy doesn't know one thing about maintenance work...I mean neither so work is NOT getting done either way. Maybe various OSHA violations will be committed- but you will never know which ones that were violated until you get at least a dozen fines in the mailbox...Anyway, with that being said, we decide to try anyway, I mean how hard can it be? It isn't like rocket science or anything right?

Ruby Daylily just found this place, and is now curled up into a ball quietly sobbing. She didn’t know that it wasn’t her fault it broke, but she assumes it is. She has her tail curled up beside her and her paws are over her eyes. Poor Ruby. She can’t seem to fix the ride either due to her lack of thumbs.

nutmeg takes one look at everything and immediately gives up. she's a baker, not a mechanic! wanting to help out in anyway she can though she decides to become the treat gal, giving out snacks to other chicoons as they work in order to not only boost their energy, but also their morale!

Arlo is a little late to the party but in his excitement and willingness to help he decides to give the ride a once... or thrice-over. He then nods his head sagely in seemingly understanding. All the ride needs is some love and affection. So he just waddles over and starts cuddling and nuzzling. (I don't think that's how it works, bud...)

Grape Smoothie decides to tinker aimlessly. Of course she does. With her blank stare, she starts to smack the broken ride with her head. If she wasn't a plush, it might have at least done something. Unfortunately, she's very soft and doesn't make a dent in either the ride or herself. Anybody around most likely thinks she's crazy.

She pauses to stare back at the one staring her down. Since she doesn't blink, it's a bit... horrifying. Her feet are planted firmly on the ground and the ride is left forgotten. This staring contest is much more important than some boring, broken ride. Well, it is to Grape Smoothie.
