i understand that there's probably a few issues with the site, but, in my wholehearted opinion, the site is community-run. it's community-based. we can join the discord for daily interactions with random community members, which is definitely new to me as i just joined the discord a few days ago. we can play random forum games to interact with random community members. if you really want to, you can exchange discords and make friends with each other outside of CS.

I just want to put in my two cents here -- as long as Tess and Nick are selling c$, its not community-run. They are making money off of this game, they raised the prices in the c$ store (which is the only way to obtain anything of value on this website as a new member) and put absolutely 0 effort into hearing us out and making changes to the website.
^^ i get this <3 i mean i think the essence and the guts of this site are to be community-run, meaning that the reason i personally love this site is because of the community, and that the community hugely outweighs the activity / inactivity of the staff.
also, about the inflation and tess & nick "lining their pockets", it takes quite a bit of money to run a server for an adoptable website, especially of this size. we don't know how much they truly profit. i don't think it's really fair to say that tess and nick are hugely profiting, because we don't know the costs of keeping moderators, and keeping the servers alive <3

there's a lot of "free pets" and "quitting" posts here and there to help new members progress, and yes it takes time to progress, obviously, but it definitely is possible. there's a lot of free items / pets each month, and events every once in a while, that you could trade bulk for quality. there's plenty of people who prefer quantity over quality :> especially hoarders !! also, just making a note that i haven't put any irl money towards chicken smoothie.
i don't see chicken smoothie as boring at all, personally, because i probably spend 80% of my freetime on it, haha! but i also trade pretty frequently and am constantly adding pets to my hoards, which have kept a little spark alive.
i don't know what else to say here, but i hope i don't come off as short or rude! i love this site, and i think it's fair to want to defend it ^^'
