Usawa’s life thus far has been….interesting to say the least.

There was no way a living being could have everything in life go wrong. Any kind of luck based game he plays, Usawa will lose without a doubt. Please never let him into a casino. If he wants to meet a friend, the weather is suddenly gloomy. Goes shopping, the things he need just so happen to run out.

You’d think that it’s exhausting to live like that, and frankly, that’s what Usawa thought too. Gods are real and he’s comedic relief. It’s frustrating, really. Nothing went his way. It took Usawa a few years of trying to fight this but after a while, he realised it was futile.

Sometimes, you should just go with the flow. Terrible weather for a meet-up? Meet them online to play games. Ingredient is sold out? Maybe it’s time to try a new recipe. Usawa isn’t fazed by anything at this point.

So now you ask, what could possibly go wrong?

He looks down his nose at the source of the query, brows arched disapprovingly.

"I am an experienced dreamwalker." His words were bitten out, angry, punctuated by a dramatic little stamp of his hoof. "I know what I'm getting myself into."

"But, sir- we don't know exactly what you'd be-"

"What I would be heading into," he cut off his stammering associate, "is the mind of a slumbering dreamer. I have faced such things countless times- times beyond your numbering, as, I might add, I have been doing this for much, much longer than you have."

He sniffed.

"How outlandish could the nightmares of one dreamer be? I'm certain it will be a simple matter to dispel them. Nothing out of the ordinary."

"But, sir," his associate piped up once more, "we've been picking up some really strange activity from the outside here. Not!" they bleated nervously as he leveled another glare at them. "-ah, not because we doubt your capability, sir! We just want to be... extra careful, in case anything were to go... wrong... in the attempt to dispel their nightmares."

"Your concern is noted," Charlemagne said frostily. "But I assure you- nothing will go wrong."
