IndentionWelcome to Merle Mania! We are a closed species community centered around the much beloved breed: the australian shepherd. We will be following AKC recognized colors so you will see adopts in black, blue merle, red, or red merle. Our dogs sport the show-type build rather than working-build, have natural length tails, and sometimes the occasional bobbed tail (there is no docking here, only natural!).

IndentionWhile most dogs will have simple prompts to adopt there is an optional aspect to Merle Mania, completing story driven prompts for Merle Medals! What's a Merle Medal? It's our currency to purchase exciting things like: customs, MYO slots, accessories, additional breeding slots, increased puppy litter size etc. The prompts will involve writing or drawing art that expands on your dogs. We hope you check back soon for available prompts!

1. You must have a storage page for your dogs to adopt. You can use the Character Storage forum or use another website as long as the site does not contain content that is not allowed on CS.

2. Give credit to the artist for the design

3. Do not change dog designs: you can add accessories in artwork but the design must remain unchanged.

4. No limit to amount of dogs you can own

5. All dogs come with 5 breeding slots

6. Breeding is male x female

7. You cannot sell your dogs for any currency

8. Trading or gifting your dogs is allowed. You must post the transfer on the dog's page and the other party must post on the dog's page to confirm. The original owner must log the transfer in the [url]archive updates thread[/url]

9. Customs are purchased with Merle Medals which is currency awarded for worldbuilding with your dogs or participating in the community. No option to purchase customs at this time

10. Art/writing used for Merle Mania must follow CS rules

11. Please be patient and kind to staff and other users. If you should have a problem with a staff member or other users pm me right away

12. I may add or edit rules in the future

13. You are forbidden from pointing out my fursona is an unrealistic example of a blue merle aussie xD I kid

IndentionTo encourage adopters of Merle Mania to use their aussies, we have incentivized worldbuilding! Through drawing or writing about your dogs you can earn Merle Medals. Merle Medals are the currency to use in the store to buy perks and custom dogs.

Worldbuilding Explained:

~ You can choose any prompts you like

~ You can draw or write to fulfill a prompt

~ You can answer as many prompts as you like

~ When you've made a response you fill out a form and post it to the [url]Merle Mania Worldbuilding Submission thread[/url]

~ Merle Mania staff will award you a Merle Medal based on your response and will update the Archive to reflect your Merle Medal count

~ You can use NPCs in your art or writing but please link any Merle Mania dogs in your entry and only with permission from their owners to use them in a worldbuilding prompt

~ The main character has to be a Merle Mania dog or, in some prompts, the owner of your Merle Mania Kennel

~ When drawing Merle Mania dogs do your best to keep the design unchanged, we understand if you can't match every merle marking spot for spot

~ New additional prompts are added at the 1st of the month after rollover

*** 1 writing piece and 1 art piece will be chosen as Worldbuilding Entry of the Month and those who won will recieve 1 Diamond Merle Medal as well as having their work featured on the Merle Mania Fanclub and username displayed in the Worldbuilding Entry of the Month Winners list ***

Worldbuilding Rules:

1. You must own at least 1 Merle Mania dog to participate in Worldbuilding

2. Any art/writing must follow CS rules

3. All art/writing must be 100% your creation aka no using free linearts and no plagiarism

4. All prompt entries need to be submitted with the proper form on the [url]Merle Mania Worldbuilding Submission thread[/url]

5. Please be patient with staff awarding your Merle Medals

6. Do not argue if you are unhappy with the tier Merle Medal you are awarded

7. For art prompts: minimal backgrounds have 1 to 3 unique objects. Detailed backgrounds have 4+ unique objects

8. For art prompts: each additional character in your drawing is counted as an object
