Yivean’s are one of the few canid like species to make it on the great plains, this species has adapted to the tall grass by having extremely tall legs. It is unknown how they came to develop a long “Lion” like tail, but it is seen to be used as a stabilizer as they can be seen running in short bursts and achieving 37 mph while hunting their trail giving them balance when making sharp turns. Females tend to run on the smaller side of 4 to 5 ft and weigh in at 64 to 98 lbs, while males can be seen 5 ft and taller and weigh in at up to 110 lbs. They tend to travel in family or adopted family groups of up to 20 individuals with the occasional larger pack. Family packs have been known and seen to take in stray pups or lone Yiveane’s with no other pack. Most of the Yiveane’s found in packs are mated and are monogamous, mating to one another for their life; the sexual orientation of Yiveane’s varies but most times are seen in straight pairs. Each mating can produce up to 3 pups and about 2 dozen pups throughout their lifetime. One thing seen to differ between the Yiveane subspecies is fur makeup, each subspecies with large amounts of hair in certain places but the most common being a mane or a long strip of fur down their back, one outwards difference between male and female is that males have a scent gland running down their face from their eyes to their nose. as the Yiveane population rises so does the Human Yiveane Conflict and accidents, and also a underground Yiveane acution(s), this leaves many in need of homes, help and love, so here at the Yiveanes Rescue house our goal is to Rescue, Rehab and Adopt out as many Yiveans as possible to safe, loving and forever homes!
