prompt:

science.
elements.
they have all been discovered, or have they?

hydra asked all these questions to herself.

the element of love.
that's what she was missing.

but how do i create it? love is not simple.
she then heard a flapping at her window.
what was that?
a flower, brought on by the breeze.

huh.
back to work.

she shut the window and set down the flower at her desk.

this flower is so ordinary. there is nothing special about it.
she tossed it in the trash.

suddenly, thunder and rain roared outside her home.
what? it was just sunny, what's happening?
she ran to the window to see that the rain had stopped.
in the sky was a beautiful rainbow.
but it was ignored.

wow, colorful light.
whatever, i can recreate here, in my lab.

she walked back to her desk, when suddenly she heard something.
baby birds?
she opened her window to see that the bird's nest just hatched some chicks.
getting more fustrated, she gently shut her window and sat down at her desk.

she began to think.
i might never find love.
what is there in life to gain? how does one obtain love, and where does it come from?

today has been very strange.
a flower, a rainbow after a storm, baby birds?
what was the common denominator?

wait!
she got up and ran outside, leaving her lab coat behind.
that's it!
nature!

it's beauty and whimsical qualities.
it's uniqueness and sheer magnitude.
this was it, this was the love she had been looking for.

she went to get her journal from inside her home, and returned outside to gaze at the sky.

"discovery made; the love of nature"
a new entry for her journal.

Stone

It sparkled. A crystalline diamond encased in ivory stones. Eyes. Beautiful eyes that mirrored my own. Powdered white hair that trickled past its ears and a calming smile of gold. A reflection, my reflection, carved out of beautiful stone. My greatest piece. Never before had I been more astounded by my own creation, perhaps I knew myself better than I thought, or maybe I was more narcissistic than I thought. Looking at the marble sculpture I could not help but feel that something was missing. I looked harder, the composition was there, every detail smoothed perfectly but something was missing. Life. That's what it was, the shining glow of a soul that hid behind one's eyes. I could not give a stone life. Even though I had incorporated my blood, sweat and tears into the piece, I could still not reach the pinnacle of imbuing an object with life. I gave a sigh, putting down my chisel before dusting off my gloves and moving down the ladder. Looking up again I gave a self deprecating laugh, once again another imperfect creation, even after giving this one all my heart, all my blood, all my tears, it still amounted to nothing. I glanced away then left for the night, not knowing the surprise I would receive in the morning. The moon had eyes which feed on the beauty, it gave a gift for the art.

I walked in still frustrated by my failure, only to give a shout in shock at the crumbled marble beneath my feet. I rushed into my room in a panic, wide eyed I looked at the now empty base. My statue was gone. How did such a thing go missing? With chattering teeth I thought, perhaps I have a stalker, then with a snap a cold hand touched my neck. I jumped in fright, holding my hands over my chest in a protective manner, only to realize nothing more was happening. I squinted at first then opened my eyes wide at the pristine snowy stone. My statue, the one I had put all my heart and soul into, stood before me. Blink. It blinked at me, before once again extending its hand to touch mine. I stood frozen, more resembling a statue myself, but the cold touch bought me back to life. I gave a bright exclamation before rushing towards it, touching here and there before finally confirming it indeed was the statue I had made. I blinked. It blinked. A small smile plastered on its face. The shock wore off quickly and reality sunk in. The stone was alive, the stone was alive, the stone was… I looked up with a twist, startling the poor thing. The eyes. The eyes were painted with the glorious color of a soul. It was alive. It was perfect. It was…another me. I gripped my hair in frustration. I had finally created the perfect piece, there was only one problem. It was living and looked just like me.

    kalon name: Lyra
    prompt:

Lyra was a curious Kalon with a shimmering, flexible iridescent tail that sparkled in the sunlight. She spent most of her days climbing trees and chasing after insects with her dexterous paws. However, one day, while wandering through the forest, she stumbled upon a bright, colorful flower. She was fascinated by its vibrant petals and the way they seemed to dance in the wind. Without thinking, Lyra reached out and touched the petals with her tail. To her surprise, the iridescent material on her tail left a shimmering trail of color on the flower. She was amazed by what she had done and quickly began experimenting with different textures and surfaces to paint on.
Lyra started painting on rocks and tree trunks, using her tail to create intricate and mesmerizing designs. At first, her family and friends were puzzled by her new hobby. They had never seen a Kalon paint before and were not sure what to make of it. However, Lyra's talent and passion for painting soon captivated them, and they began to collect her paintings. As her reputation as a painter grew, other Kalons started to take notice. They came from far and wide to see Lyra's work and to learn from her techniques. Lyra was overjoyed to share her knowledge with others and was thrilled that her accident had led to something so wonderful.
Lyra continued to paint and inspire others for the rest of her days, grateful for the accident that had changed her life forever.

What if you accidentally created the universe?

It always sounded strange, in their mind. Impossible, maybe even a little ridiculous. When they stood among others, they tried their best to act normal. But memories far beyond a human's lifespan lives in their mind, vivid and exciting and impossible for even them to comprehend at times. The forming of galaxies, the death of stars, the existence of water on a planet so far away from them that the space felt infinite, just thinking about it. How they existed before light and sound did, and how the action, the creation of motion put events into place that brought them to here and now.

How they found themself on Earth is a mystery, one part of their journey they can't remember. But everything else there is so strong, so important to them. It's hard for them not to start babbling on about it, about dark matter or the incomprehensible heat of the sun or the flight path of a comet thousands of lightyears away from them. It took them a long time to fit in. To figure out where they worked best in this society so unfamiliar to them. Still, eventually they grew fond of the small blue planet, of the little creatures that made their homes on it, that cover the surfaces in buildings and shelters and all sorts of things. How they left their mark in some places and not others. Maybe they'd never truly fit in, but they don't mind. They love to be a part of it all.

    kalon name: Sorren
    prompt:

Nobody ever questioned him, or begged to understand the thoughts behind his actions. They just watched in awe or indifference at the creations that were his little happy accidents. He had a creative spark, as to be expected with an air spirit, but there was always something more with his process. He would smile like a lovesick fool, breathing out his undying inspirations into whatever laid before him.

    Pure beauty.

    Unique matter.

Colorful or even monochromatic. It never mattered to him. Whatever his soul begged to create, he allowed.
He was simply the vessel with which to grant art.

However, something struck the young lord of the wind one crisp autumn day. The usual beat of his heart was haggard and his breath felt stale. The electricity in his veins was nowhere to be found. No amount of pondering seemed to grant an answer, leaving him all the more distraught.

He tried to create something simple, yet all the same important. A birdhouse, crafted from the finest oak in the Dark Forest. He had made this very thing many times before for his avian friends, so it would be an easy thing to get his creative currents flowing again.
But what he saw before him lit a feeling that he hadn't ever felt before: disgust. Complete, unadulterated disgust. Sorren clutched at his hair, lightly tugging on the stands with a sharp intake of breath. The fairies around him gasped as they buzzed around, their tiny chatter filling his sensitive ears. They gossiped about his abilities and his sudden inadequacy. They were calling him possibly obsolete.

    He felt fear.

He couldn't feel the wind underneath his fingertips, the magic that coursed through his muscles and guided him in his ventures. All he felt was empty space. His soul felt like it was clutched by the very hand of Death itself, threatening to finish the job should he pursue.

The fairies chose to move on from his creations. What once were beautiful things were now hodgepodges of utter mistakes.
He wept to himself with each attempt, desperate to find what had left.

It was now spring, his favorite season of all. The birds sang their usual songs, the leaves rattling their seasonal tune.
The Dark Forest was alit with delightful activity, save for Sorren.
He worked painstakingly to create anything, anything that could be deemed worthy. More tossed projects, more disastrous things. He growled out into that empty space, grabbing onto his latest attempt. It clattered and chimed as he threw it onto the pile. Suddenly his ears pricked at the sound. Carefully, he picked up the object, a finger brushing over the metal cylinders that were its feet.

    An idea suddenly sparked.

With grace he hung the object onto the nearest branch before taking a step back. It immediately chimed in tune with the wind that danced passed, a joyous, alluring sound. Sorren's eyes lit up, a million butterflies blossoming in his mind.

This was it... his heart had finally returned.
