Prompt: meadowshine is a nice mix between secure and anxious. though she seems comfortable and confident on the surface, she seeks reassurance and can be quite clingy at times. alderhaze is the fearful type; he'd much rather curl up with a nice book than open himself up to someone. sagebrush is quite secure, very comfortable being affectionate with their partner.

Prompt: inherently, omen is likely the loneliest cat to pass through both jadeclan and the unknown clan. as a deity of their very own realm, they often find themselves isolated. since the dawn of time, it's just been them and their creations: the towering trees swaying softly in the gentle breeze, the schools of ghostfish drifting past in the air, the lumbering lvikao grazing in mistgrass meadows. not that they mind it, of course—they love their peace and quiet—but any other cat would probably feel quite lonely in their stead.

*Star Reader - Dismissive
The leader of The Fallen always looks at the bigger picture. They frequently forget to provide reassurances to their loved ones, especially when they get busy leading the tribe. Star Reader finds it difficult to form attachments; even their kits don't have much of a bond with them. Star Reader is actually okay with this...to be honest, they enjoy the feeling of being above such frivolous emotions.
*Fire in the Cold Night - Fearful
Fire is one of the most confusing cats in the tribe. He can be sweet and cuddly one moment and cold and distant the next. He doesn't usually know how to act around others but often puts on a brave face, so everyone thinks he knows what he's doing. He has been called a heartbreaker too many times to count. Not just that, but he doesn't have many close relationships. Once things get too personal, he often gets scared and takes his fear out on the other cat. Then, he'll close himself off until some cat eventually tries to befriend him; then, the cycle starts again.
*Wolf That Howls at Night - Anxious
Wolf is the long-time mate of Wind, and despite being mates for years, he just can't fathom the idea that someone as amazing as her loves someone like him. Wolf is continually working on improving and, over time, has become much less worried about being left behind. He constantly wants to be around the closest to him and often needs them to reassure him that they aren't going anywhere.
*Wind in Quiet Valley - Secure
Wind is Wolf's loving mate. She has known him since they were kits, and though Wind hadn't always loved Wolf, she gradually grew to love him, and she now holds him close to her heart. Wind always feels safe with Wolf and knows they are perfect for each other. She understands that Wolf has his faults and is patient with him, but she doesn't forget to take time for herself and focus on who she is outside their relationship.

Prompt:

Sand is a shy tom. He is a newer member of The Fallen, making it difficult to fit in. New cats don't often join the tribe, finding The Fallen's customs strange and pointless. However, Sand had nowhere else to go. He had recently been mauled by a fox when he stumbled upon the tribe of weird cats. If Sand is candid with himself, it's not their fault he's often left alone. He finds it difficult to relate to them and struggles to insert himself into groups of cats who have known each other their whole lives. Sand is gradually building up the courage to put himself out there more. In particular, he wants to get to know Light that Shines Through Leaves. He is infatuated with her beauty, skill, and wit and knows that his crush won't go away anytime soon. Ultimately, he would be happy just to have a few close friends. Sand is no social butterfly, and he doesn't plan to push himself to befriend those he doesn't want to.

It all began when Light's sister, Snow, was chosen by Star Reader to be their trainee. Light thought he would be the perfect cat to become the next Star Reader. He'd been having strange dreams and thought he felt a strange pull from the sky where the stars lived. However, the world came crashing down when, at their apprentice ceremony, Star Reader picked his sister to be the next Star Reader in training. He felt lost and, when asked, couldn't decide what he wanted to be when he grew up. He didn't know what branch of the tribe he belonged in, and to make matters worse, his sister bragged nonstop about her new title. He thought he would find solace in his other sister, Spark of Young Flame, but she was happy as could be with her choice to train to be a heavy claw.
Light asked Star Reader if he could have a few days to further consider his options. She graciously agreed, and so Light spent the next few days trying to decide what to do with himself. He was considering just giving up and choosing whichever sounded the least boring. He felt absolutely gutted. He'd never thought he would be anything other than the next Star Reader. He didn't feel a pull toward anything else. He eventually realized that his dreams had been nothing but that. Silly dreams kits sometimes had that felt supernatural. That is, until Dusk After Setting Sun approached him.
The older tom knew he couldn't solve Light's dilemma, but he wanted to help the young cat however he could. As one of the more prominent figures within the tribe, he felt that it was his duty to provide help wherever he could, not just through his role as the lead fighter but as a concerned tribemate as well.
Dusk told Light that it was okay to be unsure. He offered all the advice he could think to provide and let Light know that should he ever need help, he could always turn to Dusk. During this conversation, Light grew curious about Dusk's role within the tribe. He had never taken much of a shine to the idea of being a heavy caw. Still, he was interested, knowing that Dusk had a somewhat different role. That day, Light became fascinated with all the knowledge and skills Dusks was entrusted with. It was his duty to ensure the proper training of future heavy claws, to keep the tribe safe, to draft battle tactics, and, most importantly, to devise new battle techniques and preserve the skills of older ones.
From then on, Light decided to be just like Dusk. That very night, he spoke with Star Reader and asked to train to be a heavy claw. Even though Dusk could not take on a trainee who hadn't first completed their basic training, Light was determined to one day earn his place as Dusk's trainee. Thus, he threw himself into his training and promised himself he wouldn't regret his decision. Luckily, Dusk was still there for him along the way, offering advice and a fatherly shoulder for support whenever needed.

Prompt: Seethingvole is definitely the loneliest cat of the Clan. Whilst their may only be two, Grizzlybear, the Emperor, doesn't care for socializing much. Seethingvole however, is an extrovert. He lost his family because he made the decision to leave and save his own fur, but when he decided to go back, they were gone. Vanished, like thin air. Now, that weighs down on him- but when he met Grizzlybear, he had an anger outburst.
Not because of the tom, but because of his own actions. It frustrated him. He threw a bundle of cobwebs at the tom, causing Grizzlybear to freak out, shoving the tom. They had a fight, and afterwards, while Grizzlybear moved on, Seethingvole did not. He feels subjected to help Grizzlybear out to help him, but can't find a way to ever talk to him again. For now, he moves throughout the camps cave silently, doing what he's told without a word.

he was starlit shores, gold mane tousled by saltwater and brine, paws forever dusted with moondust. he was seaglass pendants and seashells, paws always fidgeting with that heirloom when the storms raged. he wasn't perfect, but he'd been hers.

she wasn't sure what he saw in her. but he saw her. the real her. a girl more interested in poisons than paints. nightshade blooms than nightsky galaxies. a girl who knew plants better than… people. a girl who wanted to light the match of fame than kickstart a family.

and perhaps… that was what drew her to him. his genuine, infectious grin, laughter like the squawk of the gulls, loud and radiant. free. his curiosity, unabashed and unashamed, head forever canted and gaze always on hers. listening. her passions became his passions, her research became his research, her dreams became his. and at some point, it was no longer his and hers. it was theirs.

it was beautiful, wild and messy, their love like the wild fronds of flora that grew in their gardens. unreal. ethereal. a daydream bordering on the cusp of fantasy.

and she was still dancing when they came.

they always wore masks, masquerading as shadowlings, scents disguised with blood roses. they always destroyed, armed with nothing more than a crinkled parchment, an excuse for the sins committed. and apparently, famine was not enough to keep their village safe from the king’s wrath.

they stole her beloved, spearing him with his own seaglass pendant.
and now, she would steal their beloved king.

delicately, she laced a piece of twine around a tiny glass bottle.

the contents foamed, sloshing like a burgundy wave held captive in glass. to anyone, it’d appear as if vintage wine, pressed from the finest of grapevines. it was anything but that.

a faint smile traced her lips as she held the corked vial to the last vestiges of daylight. names had never come easy to her. her mind was rigid, a steeltrap of numbers and formulas, logic and reasoning. her beloved has been the artist; the abstract to her logic. in a way, it was fitting that he’d named this before he died. before she’d perfected the recipe.

nightshade’s goodnight.

the perfect poison for an eternal slumber. and a fortnight from now, she'd end her isolation and bring a storm of her own to the capital. she’d masquerade as a shadowling, scent disguised with blood roses and strike their beloved king, poisoning him with his own wine goblet.
