Name meaning: i have many different reasons as to why i named the collie what i did! for this boy he reminded me heavily of flames/scorched earth/etc, but he also reminded me of a fox. in my research i stumbled across this fox that looks almost exactly like him called the cross fox! they're a fox that has black down its back and across its shoulder blades with the sides and ears are yellowish redish (orange). I got his "normal/kennel" name from this coloration. rofous means "a reddish-brown color" which represents this collie perfectly. his nickname/other name vulpe comes from the latin word for the fox species. as for his "show" name Ignited in Retribution, i got from this story/folk tale from the apache tribe/culture. i wanted something that connected foxes and flames/fire and according to my research the apache often connected the two! in this story a fox was attempting to hunt down a rabbit to eat, but in retaliation the bunny lit the bushes around the fox on fire to try and stop it from getting eaten. the ending isn't the best 😭 but the rabbit did end up outwitting the fox. i wanted to try and keep everything connected and tied to together around foxes and flames and i think these two names best fit that theme!
