Range Trotters are the result of crossbreeding Orlov Trotters, Finnhorses, Welsh Cobs (section C & D) and Hanoverians. Later crosses of Quarter Horses, Paint and Appaloosas to gain color and to give a boost to their hardiness. With a height average of 13-15 hands, they're a hardy breed with characteristics for various disciplines.
Created for use as work, carriage and leisure riding horses originally, they now serve as long-distance range horses, such as work with Park Rangers and mounted officers.
Willing and eager personalities, most are quickly trained to be bombproof and therefore trusted mounts in all lines of work; some are being seen in local show jumping competitions, others are notably used in therapeutic sessions for their calm temperaments. Harness races and endurance trials are common for the breed, as they are able to sustain an extended trot without tire. Cross-Country competitions see some of the taller Trotters, but due to their cob lineage this is still uncommon.
Despite the variety of competitions and work these horses are being seen in, they are still famously skilled as endurance racers. Many competitors have chosen Range Trotters due to their tireless work ethic, as well as the ease in which they can be trained. Many have become champions in endurance trials, and they have quickly become a sought after breed for their natural ability.
Noticing a theme with this Trotter? Show and/or tell me about a cool snake to win them!

Prompt: I absolutely love Ball Pythons- especially with the wide variety of piebaldism and color morphs they have. As a younger child I always wanted to have and breed them, but decided now as someone with more responsibilities to wait until I'm financially secure enough. These danger noodles will always be beautiful to me though!

Gender: Mare
Height: 15hh
Halter Color: Artist's Choice
Prompt:

Introducing this funky dude; the tentacled snake!
A primarily water dwelling species, they utilize their unique tentacle-like appendages to sense the smallest of movements and pressure differences in the water, making them expert fishermen.
As long as you're not a fish however, they're actually very docile and harmless, and rather wimpy when it comes to basic survival skills beyond their beautiful camouflage patterning.
Their venom is so mild in fact that it is ineffective at anything other than stunning small fish and does not affect humans or other large mammals.

Halter Color: Sandy
Prompt: Titanoboa is an extinct type of very large snake, and the largest type of snake that ever lived. They could grow up to 42 feet, perhaps even 47 feet according to one specimen. They reach a body mass of 1,610–2,500 lbs! Although originally thought to be an apex predator, the discovery of skull bones revealed that it was more than likely specialized in preying on fish, which means it was an avid swimmer. Not even the water is safe from this beast!
Here's a replica on display at the Smithsonian:

source2This is the rare Spider-Tailed Horned Viper. It's actually pretty close in color to this trotter! These amazing snakes look awesome! They have a really cool 2 part hunting strategy. Firstly, they have incredible camouflage. Secondly, the end of their tail is designed to look like a spider/insect. They lure their prey (birds) in by twitching the tip of their tail and strike before the prey notices them.

Show Name: TT Soaring Chrysopelea
Barn Name: Snek
Gender: Mare
Height: 12hh
Halter Color: Paradise tree snake
Prompt: The paradise tree snake is one of 5 species in the
Chrysopelea genus. The unique snakes in this genus are all capable of one amazing feet: flying! Well, it's more like gliding, but they can suspend themselves from a tree branch, launch themselves from it, and flair out their ribs to make themselves into a wing-like shape. This allows them to move through their arboreal environment, although scientists are still working out why this behavior might have evolved (see
this awesome video for details[. I think they're absolutely fascinating!

Show Name: Thick As Thieves
Barn Name: Kasabian
Gender: Stallion
Height: 15.1hh
Halter Color: black leather please, maybe with a more distressed look?
Prompt: The Black Mamba (figure 1) has the most advanced venom delivery of all known snakes. It can strike up to 12 times in a row thanks to the compressor glandulae muscle (figure 2) that sits behind the main poison gland, each strike being incredibly lethal. Although not the worlds most venomous (congrats to the Taipan for that title), it is the most venomous snaked in Africa. It can deliver approximately 12x the lethal dose into the system with each strike, enough to kill a human with two drops.
