Being trapped in a maze for so long sounded terrible, and Gourdon's heart broke for Eyes. He had surely missed so much while he'd been stuck down there. How did someone even begin to rebuild a life after that? Gourdon couldn't imagine it at all. Still, he admired the positive attitude that Eyes still seemed to have.
"I think you'll meet again," Gourdon assured him. "People seem to have a funny way of finding each other."
They moved on after that, discussing Eyes' interests. He seemed like a genuinely nice guy. Working at a potion shop sounded very interesting, but Gourdon definitely agreed that Eyes would be well-suited in job where he got to talk to people.
Then Eyes asked if they could go somewhere. Gourdon thought about it for a little while before responding to Eyes' question. He had seen a little of the winter festival, though he'd been working through most of it. If Eyes' wanted a good conversation, there was certainly a lot there to talk about.
"How about we go see the snowmen display?" Gourdon suggested with a smile.
He caught the confused look on Eyes' face and realized that he should probably explain what he was talking about.
"People were asked to make a whole bunch of snowmen for the festival," Gourdon explained. "I think they sent out flyers to people living in specific areas? I haven't seen all of it yet, but I know that certain streets have they huge, really cool displays. I bet it would be quite cool to see now, since it's been a couple of days since the work started."
Gourdon paused, trying to read Eyes' reaction. It certainly sounded like a good time to Gourdon, but would Eyes be interested? Gourdon hoped he would.
