Petal has learned many moves through her various spars, training sessions, and encounters with trainers, and as such it would be very hard for her to really pick a favorite move as it often changes depending on the day. However, she recently learned a move from a traveling herd of Sawsbuck and Deerling that truly has her captivated. A move by the name of ‘Leech Seed’, which, when used on a pokemon, drains them of a bit of their HP every turn. It’s such a versatile and interesting move because it basically doubles any damage Petal does to another pokemon, especially if she uses it in the beginning of the battle!

If you were to ask Petal if she had ever seen a legendary pokemon, she’d ask you what you meant. In Petals mind, any pokemon that is very good at what they do, be it anything from battling to healing to cooking, is considered legendary. She views them as masters, or legends, in their field and is very respectful to them. However, if you were to clarify and say a Legendary pokemon such as the God pokemon Arceus, she would understand. She would tell you her ‘grand tales’ of how she’s seen not 1, but 2 legendary pokemon in her time. About how she was watching from the top of a cliff as a massive black hole opened up in the air and a towering pokemon in blacks and reds and golds floated out and glanced around, seeming to realize it was in the wrong place, and promptly swam through the air and back into the portal before it closed behind it. And later that same day, she saw a large yellow white and black cat like pokemon jumping through the air around that same cliff, with lightning bolts shooting off of its hide. She often wondered if that second legendary had been looking for the first, and even what it would have done had it found the other?

Petal was honestly a very timid and shy treecko before meeting her fellow pokemon. She had lost her parents not too long ago and the forest has no sympathy, or more so, a simple truth to it, in regards to the pokemon living inside. Whether you live to survive and thrive, or you end up another’s lunch, the forest cares little, because eventually all will become the lunch to the various trees and plants that live there. You nourish others or others nourish you. She knew she would eventually end up the food of another pokemon in the forest, but when she found her fellow pokemon, her team, she realized that she could have a new family of people to support her and have her thrive. She learned moves from them, how to travel the forest safely, how to protect herself, and how to hunt. She became a courageous and proud pokemon who knew she had family who would stay with her no matter what.

So a little known fact about Petal, and subsequently her team, is that they actually are bonded with a Pokemon Ranger by the name of Red. As such they don’t actually have pokeballs because they live their own lives away from their pokemon ranger, but have a sigil that when drawn by their pokemon ranger, will call the pokemon to that ranger. It seems a little more complex than it really is, but it’s basically a mutualistic agreement that the pokemon ranger will help the pokemon become stronger, help heal them, and help them with any issues they may have, and the pokemon will do the same with the pokemon ranger. But if Petal had to pick a pokeball she’d be stuck in for the rest of her life, she’d rather like a ‘Love Ball’ because not only is it her favorite color, but she rather likes the connotations that come with the fact that a trainer had such a strong bond with her that they chose a love ball against any other pokeball.

Petals personality has multiple facets, but if one were to focus on her ‘overarching’ personality, it could be described as Bold. She is very opinionated and over enthusiastic. She always has something to say about any given topic, and if she doesn’t know what you’re talking about, you can bet she’ll be looking it up to find out. She is always doing something, but she will also move on from things at the drop of a hat if she finds something more interesting. This often leads to her gathering a bunch of stuff for any given hobby, and then moving on for it before she completes anything. This leaves many hobbies, and the items she gathered for them, gathering dust and building up in the many places she stuffs them when she no longer has interest in them. She also gets irritated quickly, but that doesn’t mean she has a quick temper, in fact, it’s very hard for someone to actually get her mad. She would rather leave a situation where she was getting angered than to stay there and actually blow up on someone.

Petal was hatched and had grown up in the ‘Forest of Life’. She’s been in pretty much the same place her entire life, but unfortunately her egg was the only one of her clutch that had hatched, and when she crawled out of her egg and looked around for the first time, there was no one there. She waited for days for one of her parents, or even just a passing pokemon, to come and help her, but no one came. So she had to move on from her nest on her own, as she was still freshly hatched an weak she tended to avoid any sort of confrontation she could, and she learned how to hunt and battle by watching other pokemon from high up in the trees. She was eventually found by her team that she is with now, all of whom were nice and welcoming to her and taught her how to survive.

Red (Genova): Petal sees Red not only as a close friend, but also as an older brother or father figure. He has done so much for her and helped her grow strong. He has been there for all of her hardships and has helped her overcome them. He views Petal as a little sister and is always looking out for her. He wants her to succeed in whatever goals she has in life and they have been closely bonded since he met Petal on the edge of the forest.
Armor: Armor is definitely like a funny little brother to Petal. He’s always tripping over himself, but he’s very sincere and that’s what Petal loves about him. They are the youngest of the team, so far, and as such they have a closer bond than most.
Laurel & Triumph: Laurel and Triumph have very similar relationships with Petal as pseudo fathers/uncles. They are the oldest of the team and are always watching out for everyone and hunting, as well as guarding the clearing and the rest of their territory. They aren’t as close as Petal and Armor or Red, but they do have a strong bond with her.

Petal lives in a very large and over abundant forest on the outskirts of the town of Wandermere. This forest is referred to by the locals of Wandermere as the ‘Forest of Life’ or, more recently, the ‘Sleepy Forest’. It was named as such because of the over abundance of psychic and ghost type pokemon that had traveled and set down roots deep in the middle of the forest. If one were to get caught traveling in the forest, and off the trails, they would be lured by the psychic and ghost type pokemon to continue further and further towards the dead center of the forest, before they would be lulled to sleep, to forever join the forest unless they were found and brought back to Wandermere. Petal lives closer to the town of Wandermere than to the center of the forest, in a large clearing with the many other pokemon that make up her team. She personally lives in a large tree that had been shaped by many grass types to have many different rooms to be occupied by other pokemon, but so far she’s been the only one who has wanted to live in the trees.

Petal, along with the many other pokemon that have joined her over the years, are actually bonded with a Pokemon Ranger by the name of Red. Red’s full name is actually Genova RedMoon, but they feel like it’s a mouthful, so they prefer to go by Red. What it means to be bonded to a pokemon ranger is that of the ranger is ever in need of help from any of the various pokemon they are bonded too, the pokemon ranger will draw a specific sigil that is based on which pokemon is needed, and once that sigil is drawn, that pokemon will feel a call towards where the pokemon ranger is, as well as what the pokemon ranger needs in general. For example, if the pokemon ranger needed help defeating a Beedrill swarm, they would call a pokemon, and that pokemon would know where the ranger was as well as the fact that the ranger needs them to battle something, but depending on how strong the bond is, the pokemon may get more information like the fact that it needs to battle Beedrill, or maybe just the pokemons type that it will be battling against. But, the pokemon ranger could also just call for them for companionship, or to help them move and object, or even to help them heal other pokemon. The pokemon that the ranger is bonded too can be anywhere, can travel the entire world, could even be on the other side of the world, and they would still feel that call of the bond if they are needed, and of course, they would come, as a pokemon ranger doesn’t not ‘catch’ pokemon in a traditional sense, with a pokeball and a battle. Instead the pokemon ranger will either battle or help the pokemon to prove themself and the pokemon will then decide if the pokemon ranger is worthy of bonding with them.

Petal has a pretty wide move set currently, especially for a grass type pokemon that hasn’t evolved yet. She has the following moves: 1) Leech Seed 2) Grass Knot 3) Aerial Ace 4) Pound 5) Energy Ball 6) Protect.
She learned Leech Seed from a migrating herd of Sawsbuck and Deerling, who she had seen use the move on an attacking group of ghost type pokemon. She was awe inspired and had trotted right up to the nearest Sawsbuck and asked if he could teach her how to do that move.
She learned Grass Knot and Energy Ball naturally from her day to day traveling and huntings. She practiced and practiced using her grass type energy until suddenly she was performing Grass Knot’s and Energy Ball’s left and right.
Both Pound and Protect were learned during the many spars she had with her friends and rival, a Litleo that was part of a pride nearby her teams base.
Aerial Ace was a tricky one, that gave her trouble loads of times. She just never could seem to get it right until she met a group of Starly, Staraptor, and Staravia that had taken up roost in a group of trees right next to her teams clearing. She had watched them for a while to see if the would stir up any trouble for her team, and as such she got to watch them perform Aerial Ace’s and other stunts in the air that were truly stunning. She made her way to their nests and asked if she would be able to join in their training, and they were confused at first. Why would this young featherless lizard want to learn to fly? But once they saw her perform her first Aerial Ace, they realized what a natural she was in the air.
