Setting out on first light - a faintgold trail shimmers as a guide, leading into the heart of the forest that surrounds Absideon.
Arriving at the deepest depths of the forest in the evening, the gold light erupts into the brush- coating the leaves in a fine golden shimmer.

As if commanded , the gold dusted foliage seems to curl into itself revealing a path that was once overgrown with thicket.
Knarled roots that had grown through the path make transvering it quite difficult and time consuming. Some trees lining the path display signs that a horned creature had decided to sharpen its antlers - odd thing is, the horn grooves where far too high for any normal wildlife to have made.
Nightfalls, the feeling of being watched is just about unbearable- but up ahead, the exit of this thick forest is visible- the starry sky gleaming through the leaves.



Just as the exit is within reach, a figure steps out of the darkness and onto the pathway.
Its long antlers catching the moonlight. Golden eyes pierce through the night's shroud as the strange snapper shifts its weight onto one paw.

" Most curious "

The snapper approaches cautiously its features becoming more clear. Above their long antlers floats a halo, its small wings now folded neatly at its sides - just beneath them another halo hovers around their midsection.

"To pass- Tell me.. What do you find most interesting about this world " Its eyes full of innocent curiosity, any accidental intimidation this snapper had evaporates as the realization hits that the odd snapper just wants to know more about the world.

The fact that any basis exists for deducing the coloration of something that died 66 MILLION years ago is just endlessly fascinating to me.
