Motley and Mimic are not the same alignment, making this a bit… Difficult to say the least, seeing as their virtues and values compete a lot of the time. While the townsfolk used to call Motley chaotic, mischievous and unlucky, he wasn’t really. Unlucky, sure, chaotic and mischievous? Not at all, he was just never given the chance to prove he could be anything but. But he also understands how he could end up being perceived how he had.
Before the maze quest, he was always getting into trouble, and not on purpose, he just simply wanted to start over. Every time he tried to help it made him look like he was a thief or he was trying to get someone hurt. Like when the clerk dropped some mangos and Motley went to help pick them up, only to be yelled at and called a thief. Or when the painter's latter was going to tip over while he was on it and Motley ran to catch the latter and hold it for the man. But just as he got to the latter it started to tip, so when Motley stabilized it, the man looked to see Motley and just assumed he was trying to push the man over.
Sometimes it’s all about perspective, but Motley has always been the helpful type, regardless of how he’s been seen and treated by the humans. He’d consider himself Neutral Good, just unlucky. As he genuinely enjoys helping people, following the rules and doesn’t mind sharing. Though sometimes yourself has to come first and that’s why Motley can be seen as a bit of a hot head or aggressive at times, he’s not doing it to be mean, but to protect himself. How could he not want to keep people away after how he was treated for so long? But he also understands not all humans are like that, not all humans are going to assume he stole and not all humans are going to yell at him for sleeping in an alley.
Perspective is a powerful thing because while he knows he is a good person with a bit of a temper from his trauma, heck, even grumpy at times, others would deem him outright evil or chaotic evil, maybe some might be nice and just say chaotic, but that just goes to show how much the locals never stopped to get to know him. But his new party, the one he met on the way to the maze, they understand, they know him better than any local possibly could. As far as Motley is concerned, they're his true friends and family. They understand he's unlucky, and that his actions aren't chaotic or unjust, but he's just trying to do the best he can in a bad situation.
Mimic on the other hand, while not new to life definitely aren’t used to chicoon customs, well.. Most customs for that matter. They’ve never really had laws or rules, or standards to be held to before. And now that they’re attached to Motley they don’t really have a choice in what they do or the rules they follow. Luckily for them, Motley seems like a fairly good guy, and generally is. Sure he’s headstrong with a slight temper, but how could he not be? Regardless, it’s great for them considering they’re able to learn how to be good and better from him. If Motley was going to describe their alignment it would be True Neutral, as they don’t really have enough experience with people or life outside the maze to really know any better. Though maybe Mimic will lean towards the good side, at least that’s what Motley can hope for, as it wouldn’t be too great to have a supervillain stuck to your neck and arm.
Though Motley being a good person doesn’t QUITE mind the parasites who have attached themselves to him, they do help him, and provide him company between quests, so it could be worse, that’s for sure. So while Motley travels with his new party, he’s decided to keep the parasites, for now, his party will just have to get used to his odd second head and weird arm, but at least he’s more helpful than he was before. And besides, now he has someone to take under his wing.. More than literally, he likes the idea of being able to teach these creatures something new, and how to forgive, forget and move on. But most of all, help them understand the world better.
