Prompt:

Neviah halts in her travels as she comes across a large maze. She doesn't remember this being here before - did she maybe take a wrong turn? Well... couldn't hurt to take a peek... right?
She gazes at the colourless grey stone and as she stops at the entrance she slowly walks up to it and hmms to herself, curiosity getting the better of her as she steps inside. She had heard before that if you stick to one side of the wall it was easier to find the exit, but she had never tried it before. Moving to the left side of the maze she started walking further in, eyes darting around as she inspects everything. She spots a tiny hole in the wall and tilts her head down to try and see in it... Maybe there was something in there? She wasn't sure, but she'd definitely be checking out any other holes she found, the loot goblin mentality fueling her adventures.

Prompt:

Burst’s fur stood on end, not in fear but excitement, as they admired this strange entrance to a maze. As investigating, something caught their eyes. Their head wings out stretched outwardly, like a dog finding something that interested them. As moving closer to look the mysterious thing was gone in a blink of an eye. That wasn’t gonna stop Burst from chasing it. So they plunged into the barely lit maze ahead with a honk of courage. To only soon stop and look around as to where the mysterious thing had disappeared too.

Burst sniffed the air, but quickly covered their nose with a paw. It smelled really damp and musty this far in. Burst snorted to push the smell out of his nose and kept on walking till his paws touched something soft. Looking down he noticed it was grass. He cracked a smile as he figured he might have found a way out. So he followed the paths that the grass grew upon and came to what seemed to be more patches of grass. Burst huffed and sat down in defeat. They wanted to find a way through not find more grass. Although deciding it wasn’t a total defeat, Burst got up and started sniffing around in the grass patches he found. Maybe he could find something-or a secret lever! He didn’t know what to expect or find. So he continued his rummaging. Though the question in the back of his mind still nawed at him, What was that mysterious thing he may have seen when following it in here?

Bow looks around the entrance of the maze, having found it not by chance, but by word.

He had been in the local town perusing the hunt board when a poster caught his eye. It pointed to a place of mystery and discovery, a doorway in a wall, and nothing else we know of...? Well now that can't be true! Or well, Bow will make it untrue.

Off he set, with his trusty backpack and Companion and made his way out...

Flash-forward and Cin's heroes are staring at a flat shear rock face.... Companion had jumped forward, indicating they had made it, so naturally Bow followed suit and looked around for a doorway in a rock wall. And stared. And stared. Companion nudged at his shoulder, moving him forward.

Later on, they found a group of other chicoons and companions inspecting an area of the wall, and decided they had made it! Trampling their way into the crowd, Bow pulled out his Sherlock Holmes style magnifying glass, putting on his Ear Cap and Cloak, and looked for clues....

He found the way was worn down in a certain area, like a path had been created not by the current grouping, but from many many many years of traversal.... How could this be?

Max looked up at the strange markings at the entrance of the maze. He briefly wondered who'd carved them there before he passed beneath them and ventured into the shadowy corridor. The eerie vibe of the maze was giving him the creeps, but Max enjoyed mazes so maybe this one wouldn't be too bad! Perhaps whoever had built it had meant for it to be this spooky, to keep others from exploring it? Max rubbed a paw on one of the walls. It was incredibly smooth. That was, until his paw skimmed over a crack. The crack looked a little like it was pointing a certain direction. Interesting! It could be a coincidence or it could mean something! Max decided to follow the crack and took the first left. [word count: 129]

Prompt:

Vesper stood in front of a stone wall. She looked it up and down, and wondered if she could jump on top of it. She crouched down and bunched up her muscles, then jumped as high as she could, but did not reach the top. She tried again, this time attempting to grab at the stone to climb it, but the wall was too smoothe and she ended up falling on her back.

The dark chicoon looked alongside the wall and realized there was an entrance she had missed. Walking over to it, she saw strange symbols on the top of the entrance arc. All she saw beyond the entrance was stone. She gave a sniff, but smelled only the stone of the walls and the dirt she was standing on.

Caution giving way to curiosity, the wide eyed Vesper slowly made her way into the maze. It seemed to go on forever, but eventually she saw a large silhouette appearing to go around a corner. When calling out gave no reply, she ran, hoping to catch up. She slowed down when she realized it was a dead end.

Whoever, or whatever, she saw, was gone. She looked over the dead end, but all she found was a tiny hole in the bottom of the wall. She peered inside the hole, but saw nothing but darkness.

This is all very odd, Vesper thought to herself as she stood there, lost and confused in the maze.

Prompt:

...Were mazes suppozed to be this dull and creepy? Prismacolor had always been used to seeing mazes made of cornstalks or out of bushes, perhaps with flowers blooming on them, but never one quite like... This. Wow, this place could really use some spicing up, they thought, not too keen on how drab the place felt. Oh well; turning back now that they had arrived seemed rather pointless, so venture forth they ultimately would. A little adventure would do them good.

Something felt... Off about the maze, and they'd barely even had the chance to explore it. Prisma would glance around to see if anyone else — be if another chicoon or simply some other critter that wandered in. The hadn't even gone much further past the entrance when some cracks in the floor tiles caught their attention. ...What could've made such large cracks? I don't think I've seen a chicoon that would've been big enough to make cracks in the tile like that. Unless it was carrying something so heavy it dropped it every couple of feet! But... That sounds kind of silly! It'd make more sense to just carry it in a wagon, Prisma considered. Oh well. I sure wonder if I can see anything through those little holes in the wall, though... Probably not, but playing peek-a-boo with an unknown entity in a creepy maze sounded fun.

Spending much of his time deep within underground chambers, Herbert wasn't fazed by the stone walls of the maze entrance. The pads of his paws made dull, echoing sounds as he took his first steps onto the tile. The air within the walls had a stale taste on the back of his tongue, though he was unsure if this was something in the air or a trick of his mind- associations with stone corridors from his past. Herbert took a single tentative step around the corner, and was startled by a quick flash of blue light. Illuminated by the light was a bundle of tiny holes dotting the wall. Herbert tried to dismiss this as something caused by the decay of the stone, but was unnerved nonetheless.

Prompt:

Maxwell quite enjoys the clean smoothness of the walls. He moves closer and gives them a tap, wondering what type of stone they are made of and how they have come to be so magnificently smooth. If it was a spell, he wonders if he could learn it to apply to the walls of his own home.

He notices the dust in the corners and wishes he had a duster to clean those spots. Trying his best to ignore the dust, Maxwell moves forward into the maze. He is curious as to what it might hold and how many possibilities there are. He hopes he will not get lost in here, planning to try to map out how far he has been as he takes specific turns. "One, two, three," he starts counting his steps aloud.

Several moments later, he stops mid-count as he comes upon medium patches of grass. He tilts his head curiously at them.

The maze before you is made of a sickeningly dull stone, its smooth to the touch besides the occasional crack darting across the floor tiles and dust decorating the corners.
The walls are too sleek to climb and too tall to hop onto, you'll have to go through it.
You may see a blue light flash across the walls, or a silhouette duck down a hallway, you can give chase, but its clear it disappears a second after you spot it. please describe if you find one of the following.... Dead ends, large cracks in the tile, medium patches of grass, or tiny holes in the walls.

Qory stands before the maze, feeling tiny and insignificant. He had heard whispers about a maze that popped up out of nowhere, Attracting many brave exploders and swallowing them up so they're never seen again. Ever since he was a whelp, Qory dreamed of being a knight, of going on adventure and saving his very own princess. When he had heard about the maze, he thought "this must be it, my quest!" Standing here now, he's not so sure.
Timidly, he starts his journey.
At first he thought he might outsmart the maze, trying to get over the walls, but he quickly gave up, choosing to walk onwards though the maze. It was lonely in the maze, not another soul in sight. Many times he ran into dead ends, and it was only his never ending enthusiasm that kept him going.

sweaty makes note of the silhouette, before wandering in the opposite direction of where it seems to have been headed. instead, he finds himself wandering traversing hallways until he happens upon a dead end. a dead end... surely it can't be! there must be something in this hallway. sweaty picks up a pebble from the ground and throws it down the hallway. nothing happens. he shouts down the hallway, asking if anyone is there. nothing happens. sweaty is not deterred by this. he is convinced there is something in this hallway. he has decided to sit at the dead end in this hallway until something happens.
