Range Trotters are the result of crossbreeding Orlov Trotters, Finnhorses, Welsh Cobs (section C & D) and Hanoverians. Later crosses of Quarter Horses, Paint and Appaloosas to gain color and to give a boost to their hardiness. With a height average of 13-15 hands, they're a hardy breed with characteristics for various disciplines.
Created for use as work, carriage and leisure riding horses originally, they now serve as long-distance range horses, such as work with Park Rangers and mounted officers.
Willing and eager personalities, most are quickly trained to be bombproof and therefore trusted mounts in all lines of work; some are being seen in local show jumping competitions, others are notably used in therapeutic sessions for their calm temperaments. Harness races and endurance trials are common for the breed, as they are able to sustain an extended trot without tire. Cross-Country competitions see some of the taller Trotters, but due to their cob lineage this is still uncommon.
Despite the variety of competitions and work these horses are being seen in, they are still famously skilled as endurance racers. Many competitors have chosen Range Trotters due to their tireless work ethic, as well as the ease in which they can be trained. Many have become champions in endurance trials, and they have quickly become a sought after breed for their natural ability.
How did you capture this forsaken trotter? (150 words max)
Have fun! I can't wait to see your answers c:

(Gonne be honest. I wrote like 1000 words. And then saw the word limit haha - if youre interested in the full story pm me!)
Doc and I went out in a storm to find the phantom mare. We followed her to the properties end and managed to throw a loop. Unforunately it burnt up quickly and the line fell slack. As the thunder cracked above us, she bolted, spooking Doc and galloped into the brush again. We followed closely knowing that she was headed to the old yards. A low hanging branch caught me in the ribs and I hit the dirt. Dusted myself off and run after them. My thoughts were interupted by a strike of lightning and the two horses were caught in the yards cornered by fire. Doc protected the mare and I opened the gate behind them. I mounted Doc, and chased her loose and headed back for home. We reached the barn and walked in drenched. Surprisingly so did the mare and she stayed by Doc's side ever since.

Walking through the woods one day I spied a fearful sight.
A lonely mare wreathed in crimson flames that glowed bright.
I rubbed my eyes and looked again at this rare being,
A horse with a pumpkin's head, what the heck was I seeing?
I knew right then I had to have this beauty in my stable
So I hatched a very clever plan to catch this Halloween fable.
Some candy corn, some chocolate bars, a Sourpatch or two
A licorice rope tied with a knot would hopefully make do.
I carefully laid out these treats and hid behind a tree
She drew near and began to eat, the candy was the key.
I threw my rope and to my surprise the licorice hit its mark
I prayed inside that this girl's bite wouldn't be like her bark!

I crept through the trees of the island in the dead of night. My grip tightens on the straps of my backpack as I continue onward. I can feel my heart in my chest as I suddenly make contact with the ground and my bag spills. I sit up and start to gather the items as I spot a baggie filled with popcorn from earlier in the day! I chuckle and open the bag. Suddenly, a loud rustling noise sounds from behind me. I gasp and turn, my hand still in the bag. Through the trees, a horse with red flames emerges. I take a shaky break in as I notice the Trotter is focused on the snack. I laugh and he huffs at me as I stretch my arm out with a handful of popcorn. "Care to join me?" I ask as the horse's whiskers tickle my hand.
