Stolas itches at his ear, his head tilted. ''You don't remember what the flower is called? Are you sure?'' He tries to see if he can trigger any of auntie's memory. Despite the failed attempt, he offered a soft smile. ''It's okay, I'll poke around and see if I can get any information around the gardens.'' the nickit assures before he sets out onto his adventure.. --
Upon arriving to the gardens, the nickit hangs out around the wooden fencing. His eyes scanning the area for other Pokémon. Upon finding a florges tending to their flowers. He puts on an innocent act. ''Hello! May I come in? I'm looking for a certain kind of flower.'' He asks.
''Come in- but watch your paws and big tail. I don't want any of my prized babies getting wilted.'' the florges replies, gently hovering over a patch.
Stolas nods, ''Of course. They look beautiful this year.'' he tried to stay on their good side. ''The flower I'm looking for is a blue flower known to bring golden color into meals and has a rich flavor. Can you help?''
''Pff, my flowers look good every year!" They laugh. ''I think you're looking for some canterbury bells! I have a small patch over here, they weren't too successful this season with all the frosty mornings.'' They glide over to the patch. The flowers that made it were flourishing under the florges care. ''I will admit, i don't know if I am looking to trade or sell them as there arnt as many as i'd like.'' They turn to look at the rest of their flowers, trying to think of what other type of flower it could be. They don’t notice the nickit rip a mouthful of the canterbury bell’s stems into their mouth. By the time the Florges has turned around, the nickit is past the fence. “Hey!-“
“Thanks for the help!” Stolas snickered before running back to Auntie to deliver the stolen goods.
Alysun was running through the woods, eager to finally start working on grandma’s pie. She had been a bit busy and couldn’t get the Sweet Wood she was hoping for in time, but this time would be different. She was fast, she would run like never before to help grandma to the best of her abilities.
She had to admit, it was a bit rough getting all that stuff. Her teeth hurt from trying to mine of minerals without any tools, and her paws here numb from pressing soil to please the florges keeping the garden, and with it, the flower she needed. But now that she had done so well (and a long explanation of how she’s helping grandma and that’s why she’s after the flower), she can finally go home to a proud grandma appletun.
Uno's eyes lit up as he heard the words Gracidea Flower, He turned to his mom and started to wag his tail. "We need to get one of those flowers for Blossom!! She'll love it on the pie!!!" He almost screamed.
Fruity laughed softly. "So you really are making this pie for you sister then huh?"
Uno nodded. "I'm sad she couldn't come with us!! I need to bring her back a pie!! And Mommy too!!" He grinned, talking about his other mother, Dollie.
Fruity smiled, Arceus Uno was gonna kill her one day with how sweet he was. "Let's go find that florist then... I bet they'll love to give us one once they learn who you want to give it to."
Uno grinned, bouncing of with Fruity following behind him. They both arrived at a flower shop with a Rufflet who was watering the flowers, humming quietly.
"Hello! Are you the flower keeper!?" Uno ran right up to the poor bird pokemon and scared the living soul out of them.
"....Y-Yes...." The Rufflet replied, still shaken up. "What can I help you with?"
"I'm looking for a Gracidea Flower for my pie!! So I can give it to my sister! Do you have any?" He asked, as Fruity came into the store.
"Sorry about my son..." Fruity sighed softly. "He really wants to make a pie for his sister and ran all the way here...."
"No, No it's okay." The Rufflet replied and chuckled. "Usually I don't give these flowers out to anyone... but since it's for your sister." The Rufflet flew away to the back to the store and came back with one in his beak. He gently handed it to Uno. "Here you go.... I hope your sister enjoys the pie. I bet it's gonna be a good one." The Rufflet smiled as Uno nodded and took the flower in his mouth.
"Let's go back to Auntie's now huh?" Fruity smiled, heading back towards the cabin with Uno and the Gracidea Flower.
While Lance had done part of the hard work, Zayne decided that he couldn’t just let his little brother do absolutely everything. That would be pretty rude of him, he thought, and so the Luxio hybrid wandered into town…with Sparrow, inevitably, close behind.
“Have you ever seen a Gracidea flower before, Sparrow?” He inquired, furrowing his brow. While Auntie Appletun had explained it to them, he still wasn’t entirely sure what they were looking for.
“Shaymin tend to have a lot of them, and they’re simultaneously both one of the easiest and hardest flowers to grow. They’ll burst into bloom whenever people are grateful.”
“Ohhh…I see…so we should go to the florist like Auntie Appletun suggested,” Zayne surmised. Sparrow sighed, nodding his head. He wasn’t sure if Zayne heard everything he had said, but it was a start he supposed.
The two made their way to the florist’s shop, gently opening the door. A bell jingled as they let themselves in, which caught the attention of the shopkeep-- a Shaymin florist. Sparrow inhaled, trying his best not to let out a snide remark toward his young charge.
“Welcome, welcome! May I help you with something?”
”A better question is can WE help you with something,” Zayne chimed, smiling wide. Despite his spooky appearances, he still was a royal knight. He always sought to help those in need-- so not only was this normal for him, it felt right.
“O-Oh! I…don’t think I’ve ever had someone ask that one before…” The Shaymin mumbled, hopping down off the counter. Zayne only now really noticed how much bigger he was than them. It was for the best that Sparrow didn’t inform him that this small florist was considered a mythical pokemon.
“There is ONE thing I can think of…I’m having some issues moving my new soil bags and fertilizer into the back of the store from outside. Could you two help out with that?”
Zayne nodded happily, beaming and putting a hand on his chest with pride.
“Leave it to us, ma’am! We’ll get it done in no time at all!”
And so the two headed outside and to the backside of the store, where there was…honestly quite the massive pile of bags. Zayne winced a bit, but his smile didn’t waver. He had Sparrow helping him out, after all! The two would never turn away someone in need of assistance in their travels. Slowly but surely, Sparrow would help steady sacks onto the Luxio fusion’s back and he would carry them into the back of the store. It was hard labor, but nothing the two hadn’t handled before.
It would, however, take a good long hour to accomplish. The bags had piled up pretty badly, it seemed. Poor Shaymin.
“Oh, thank you so much!” She chimed, her back bursting into a variety of Gracidea flowers. Zayne’s eyes sparkled as the florist sung their praises and the creature became its own personal walking flower garden.
“Those are Gracideas. You would’ve accepted any ordinary flower for our work, I’m sure,” Sparrow snorted, unable to really keep in his snarky comments toward Zayne any longer.
“Oh!! Are you here because of Auntie Appletun?” Shaymin asked, her cheeks red. “You could have just said so! Please, take one of my Gracidea flowers and tell her to not be a stranger, alright?”
“I feel a lot better having helped you out first. How can we ignore someone in need?” Zayne chimed, nodding. Sparrow sighed softly…he was raising the fledgling prince quite well, he thought. He’d make a wonderful king some day.
And so, the two took the Gracidea flower with some gratitude of their very own, and began to make their way back to Auntie’s humble abode.
