Eudora, purring, takes the knife in her mouth.

They move like a genuine artist, like the pumpkin is their canvas — and though their hold is clumsy and they have to place a thick paw atop the orange thing to keep it still for the process what they create is, really, quite lovely. The pumpkin has a bright smile and happy eyes, a small triangular nose, and… ah. And she is dressing it in a green silk scarf and balancing diamond earrings on its head and draping silver necklaces over the stem.

By the time the pumpkin is dressed her purrs are less occasional expressions of joy and more a continuous rumble, and they lean down, affectionately nuzzling the top of the pumpkin.

Either she’s tricked herself into thinking her crafts project is a Pumpkaboo in need of a makeover, or Eudora desperately needs another hobby.

"Finally done!" Thea exclaimed, gingerly wiping a bit of excess goo from one of her paws onto the grass. In the other, the goodra clutched a knife, still covered with trace amounts of pumpkin after the carving she had done- a swirl of autumn leaves seeming blown across the surface of the pumpkin by a stray breeze, every point of their leaves carved with painstaking care. Thea beamed, surveying her work with a satisfied nod. Not the spookiest design, but certainly seasonally appropriate- and, she conceded, setting the knife aside and removing the top of the pumpkin to gently set a few small candles inside, it would certainly help to light the way for celebrating pokemon just fine.

Out of all of them, Nero is the one most skilled with a knife; he, too, is the one most invested in the Halloween season. So when asked to carve a pumpkin to help light up the street, well...

He gets right to it, all silent dedication and concentration. Those just walking by might not even notice him, despite his up and coming status as a metal star. He blends into the background noise, just another guy, another pokemon.

Of course, with dedication, there also comes a little bit of a flair for being... well. Extra. Going above and beyond. That's no face he's carving onto the pumpkin, it's - it's a midnight form Lycanroc, standing on grassy flatlands before a cliff, a bunch of tiny stars poked into the sky. It's howling at something, but what? Oh, nothing, just the moon carved onto the other side of the pumpkin so that it will light up the wall behind it. No big deal.

Ophelia would take a few moments to inspect Mimichu, the Larvesta deep in thought. How does one exactly make a costume for one that always is wearing a costume in the first place? After giving it some thought, she’d sigh softly and bob her head, beginning to weave her silken thread. Her little legs worked diligently to form the silk into a broad witch’s hat, complete with a pretty bow. She seemed rather content with this, making sure to leave holes in the hat to let the ears of their usual costume through. Afterward, Ophelia worked on fashioning a cute little witchy cape that could be draped over Mimichu’s usual attire.

Finally, she would hurry over to the grass to find a branch that had fallen from the trees, adding some hay from one of the bales alongside a ribbon to make a little broom that could be held by the creature’s shadowy appendages and present it to them.

Why dress up Mimichu in something different that might make them uncomfortable when they could instead just wear a witch’s outfit on top of their normal stuff?
