xxxxxWhen Beverly was very small, she considered herself very unlucky. Anything she wanted to do was just out of her reach. She accidentally got last pick on food, she always got caught in the rain, and no matter what she tried, all her favorite things would break. It was exhausting. She didn't know what to do with herself, because why bother, she would never get what she wanted. But she was still very young and very self-absorbed. She never noticed that when she helped others, they had the best luck in the world. If it ever got brought up to her, she would get upset about it. That wasn't fair! How come she never got the luck she gave out?
xxxxxAs she got older, she begrudgingly helped others. Each time their face lit up because she helped them get somewhere sooner, or helped them get ready for a competition, or played board games with, she felt a small part of her start to glow too. Her luck was still terrible, but there was one thing that wasn't luck based: Kindness.
xxxxxShe started to pick up odd jobs throughout her community. What she quickly learned is that no matter how terrible she did, she always got the task done, and done well. Her embarrassment and anger towards herself was overcome with the utter glee of those around her. So she kept giving out kindness, and her life improved in return.
xxxxxBeverly's passion in life is helping. It wasn't until she was an adult that she realized how much she loved it. She works "freelance", helping out whoever needs it in the moment. In return, maybe she'll get her favorite food before it runs out.
